Suddenly, a flood of memories surged forth from centuries past. I believed I had buried them deep within, hidden from sight. Their resurgence startled me awake, my voice echoing in the darkness as I grasped out in desperation. Cold hands enclosed mine, and as I blinked open my eyes, I found the monkey hovering over me, his expression etched with concern.
"Don't get up," he said, his hand gently pushing me down. His cold hands were on my forehead, wiping away the sweat. "You had spent all of your magic bringing us here. Your body is going through shock."
"Where are we?" I asked in a raspy voice, trying to look around but I saw nothing but a decrepit temple.
"We're in the human realm," he said.
I groaned. "Please don't tell me we're on Mount Lhiran."
