Four hundred years ago
Athena was woken up by Erebus, a German Shepherd that she somehow brought back from her many trips to the mortal realm. Father had given her a look when he saw her with it, but said nothing as Mother was on her side. The girl needs a best friend, and a dog will keep her company her Mother said.
She thanked her Mother for siding with her.
"Alright, Erebus, I am up," she whined as she tried to push him away, his head nudging her to get up. But she remained on her bed, not willing to move. Her bed is suddenly very comfortable this morning.
He barked at her and she sat up with a heavy sigh.
"You're right, Erebus," she muttered. "I have school to attend, I can't dally."
