According to the Greek mythology, the Valkyries were originally ancient warrior-women who had the power to determine the fate of those in battle, deciding who would live and who would die.
Among the fallen warriors, half were chosen by the Valkyries to join the god Odin in Valhalla, the great hall of the slain, while the others would join the goddess Freyja in Fólkvangr, a realm associated with her.
Though both Fólkvangr and Valhalla were realms of the afterlife, not much was known about Fólkvangr compared to Valhalla. It remained a mysterious place, shrouded in legend and speculation.
Since the Valkyries were part of Norse mythology, each warrior had a Norse name, reflecting their heritage and the culture of the time.
In the Haven, Valkyries were a special force of super soldiers, created from a special genetic modification. These modifications allowed them to develop faster and stronger than normal humans. They were trained extensively to be able to use their bodies to the fullest extent.
Valkyries had a wide variety of skills, including hand-to-hand combat, weaponry, and strategy. They could also operate various vehicles and equipment.
They were also equipped with nanomachines, which enhanced their physical abilities and allowed them to communicate wirelessly.
Once a woman has undergone the transformation, she would become a member of the Valkyries. She would be sworn to serve the country and protect its citizens.
In addition to physical training, the Valkyries also underwent rigorous psychological conditioning. This allowed them to function under extreme stress and helped them overcome fear and doubt.
When the war broke out, the Valkyries were used as shock troops. They led the charge against the invading forces, using their superior strength and speed to overwhelm the enemy.
Valkyries were not bound by rules or laws. They operated independently and were responsible only to their own superiors. They were given complete freedom to do whatever they deemed necessary to achieve their objectives.
They were known for their ruthless efficiency and their willingness to sacrifice themselves for the greater good.
Their reputation was fearsome, and their presence inspired both awe and terror in those who encountered them.
But Valkyries were not without their weaknesses. While their enhancements made them superior to most, they were not invincible. They could still be killed, and they could be outsmarted.
Their greatest weakness was their hubris. They were arrogant and believed themselves to be invincible. This blinded them to the possibility of defeat and led to their downfall.
The Valkyries had once been Earth's greatest weapon. Their strength and skill were unmatched, and they were feared by all who faced them. But the war against the Neutrinos had been brutal, and their numbers dwindled with each passing day.
Now, as the Valkyries stood at the brink of extinction, they were forced to choose between surrender and oblivion.
With no other option left, the Valkyries chose to fight. Their goal was simple: to eliminate the Neutrinos and reclaim their homeworld. But they would not do so alone.
They were created during the war, and were sent to Earth, where they defeated the enemy single-handedly. And now, they've been re-activated by the Supreme Lord.
Their goal: to eliminate the Neutrino fleet.
Their mission: to bring the fight to the enemy and reclaim their homeworld.
The Valkyries were the last hope for humanity, and they would not let their planet fall into the hands of the enemy.
Their resolve was unshakeable, and their dedication was unwavering. They would succeed or die trying.
Magnus sat at his expansive desk, poring over various reports and blueprints. As the first rays of light bathed the room in golden warmth, his eyes drifted over the magnificent view from the wall-sized windows behind him.
The view was breathtaking, with the city sprawled out below, surrounded by the endless expanse of a clear cerulean sky. It never ceased to amaze him how, despite the turmoil and suffering going on in the world beyond the city's protective walls, his home could remain untouched by the chaos.
"Milord?"
The soft voice startled Magnus out of his reverie, and he turned to see his personal assistant standing in the doorway, a bundle of papers in his hand.
"Yes, what is it, Rhett?"
Rhett held out the stack of papers, his expression carefully neutral. "The reports you requested, Milord. And the plans for the new medical facility are here as well."
"Thank you," Magnus said, taking the documents and setting them aside. "Have we heard any updates from the search teams?"
"Nothing new, Milord," Rhett replied, his tone carefully neutral. "We are still looking, but so far, we have had no luck locating any survivors with special abilitites."
"Damn it," Magnus swore, running a hand through his dark hair. "It's been almost a year since the war, and we've found no one. How is that possible?"
"I'm afraid I don't know, Milord," Rhett replied, shifting uneasily. "Perhaps we should consider expanding the search area."
Magnus nodded, his jaw clenched. "Do it. Contact the other cities and see if they have any leads. We can't stop looking."
"Sure, Milord," Rhett said, turning to leave.
"Wait," Magnus said, holding up a hand. "Send in Kassandra. I wish to speak with her."
Rhett nodded. "Yes, Milord. Anything else?"
"No," Magnus replied. "Very well, you're dismissed."
"Yes, Milord," Rhett said, bowing his head slightly before on his heel and heading down the hallway.
Magnus leaned back in his chair, letting out a frustrated sigh. He was growing increasingly impatient with the lack of progress on the search for the mysterious young girl who had caught his attention a few years ago.
Ever since he had first laid eyes on the girl, her magical abilities had intrigued him deeply. He was determined to find her, no matter the cost.
His mind spinning with thoughts of the future. He couldn't stop the war, and he couldn't prevent the destruction, but maybe, just maybe, he could ensure that humanity survived.
If only he could find the girl....
