"No, No, I am okay. It's just that I'm quite frustrated with the work, and I think I needed some refreshment so I am here," I lied, trying to convince him with a smile as I tried to hold back all the feelings that were bothering me.
"Oh, I can understand; I work under the same man, you see," he jokes, laughing and taking a step away from me. I nod my head so I can get back to the design room, not wanting to stay in his presence and feel even more terrible.
"Then I am going back to my work," I tried to excuse myself with a small smile, trying to cross him on the other side so I don't have to see him again.
"You seem so stressed now, Ms. Everly. So can I invite you for a coffee so we can discuss something that might help both of them?" He asked in his welcoming tone, his eyes staring at me with friendliness while he got closer.
