Synopsis
[Warning: strong mature content] Jasmine Everly was humiliated and thrown out of the house after being served with divorce papers by her husband, Sabastian Donovan, the only person she had ever loved, all due to a heartbreaking misunderstanding. She was so dependent on Sabastian that she had no one else and nowhere else to turn. Hurt and broken, she contemplated the end, but fate intervened when she discovered her pregnancy after enduring multiple miscarriages. This gave her the reason and determination to live. She worked hard to stand on her own just to give her daughter everything. After 6 years, she meets her ex-husband again as an investor in the design studio she works for, and he demands that she work with him for a month. What happens in a month? Why does he want her now? Will he find out that he has a daughter? Will they finally solve their misunderstanding and get back together? Or does he still love her? Will they have a happy ending? --------- He let my hands go and moved back a little, asking, "So she is not my daughter?" His voice was so calm, mirroring his eyes. It.... It's scary. Why did he suddenly turn so clam...? "No." I stood my ground, even though my heart was shouting to tell him the truth. All of a sudden, he grabbed my throat and slammed me against the wall, making my eyes widen. The unknown sensation spread across my skin like a wildfire. "So what if she is not my daughter? You still belong to me! But not in the fucking way I promised, but in the way you deserve!" His dark harsh voice vibrated on the edge of the earshell and sent a shiver down my spine, breaking out the cold sweat. "Wha...what....?!" My words were swallowed by his kiss, harsh unforgiving and hungry kiss. My body froze against his huge one as he pushed me against the wall with his, making me a sandwich between him and the wall. My eyes rolled back, and my mind stopped working as all I could feel was him, his body, and his lips. "You are always mine! Remember this, Jas!".

Chapter 1 - My beautiful daughter

Jasmine Everly's P O V

"Sebastian... Trust me, please... I didn't do it. I didn't betray you!" I cried in pain, asking him to trust me as I held his hand like my life depends on it and raised my eyes filled with tears to look at him.

"Trust you after everything you have done?" His voice was so cold that it almost froze me in place. My eyes widened as I saw nothing but hate in his eyes. The same eyes that are filled with love, possession, and care for me.

How... How could you not trust me?! Didn't you promise to love and trust me till our lives end?! How could you do that?!

My lips trembled as those words stuck in my throat while I stare at him with my eyes filling with new tears.

"Get out before I throw you out!" he hissed in anger, winching his hand away from mine. His words felt like a sharp knife stabbing my heart.

"Where... where will I go...? I don't have anywhere to go, Sebastian....?" I whispered, trying to hold his hand again, like I couldn't live without it, couldn't live without him, but he winched his hand again, like I don't deserve to even touch him.

"Why…?" moving closer but he took a step back, turning his eyes away from mine and walked away.

Walked so far away that I couldn't hold his hand, no matter how hard I chased him.

"Please... Please don't go! Please don't leave me!" I screamed in panic, running behind him in the empty darkness, chasing him like a madwoman.

"Mom... Mom... What happened?! Wake up!" A sweet voice broke through the darkness and his blurry image.

I forced my eyes open through the tears and faced a beautiful little girl. My daughter.

"Mom, what happened? Why are you crying?" a small sweet voice filled with worry pierced through the darkness, trying to get me out of this pain, this suffering.

I forced open my eyes, and woken from my sleep, no… nightmare, completely getting back to the reality.

I sat up on the bed, drenched in sweat, still feeling the pain and my heart sank to my stomach with heavy breaths assaulting my lungs. The pain explodes throughout my body from my heart in remembrance of the nightmare.

Why the hell do I still think about him after everything he has done?! This is a daily routine, and the only difference is, I alway gets out of the nightmare after crying a river, which is threatening to flow down any moment now, but only today, I have been winched out of those cruel feelings by someone.

My eyes widen as I realize those words. Those sweet words. It's... it's my daughter! I turned my eyes to the side and saw the little figure standing near the bed with her eyes filled with tears and worry.

What the hell have I done?!

The invisible hand around my heart clinched harder as I watched my daughter worry about me.

I closed my eyes and took a long sigh, wiping away the tears and trying to get my senses back. It took a few seconds, but I calmed down. Then I focused my attention back on my beautiful daughter, forcing a smile and shook my head, saying, "I was just having a bad dream, baby. Don't worry."

"Really?" she asked, worried, taking a step closer in her small legs with her eyes not leaving mine.

I nodded my head while leaning towards her and picking my daughter and made her sit my lap, asking, "But what made you wake up early, baby?" changing the topic, as I turned to the side and looked at the time. It was only 6 a.m. My eyebrows frowned in confusion because this doesn't seem like my daughter. She loves to sleep late but only wakes up when I force her to.

"Don't tell me you forgot that I have my school trip today! I have to go early, Mom!" she said, placing both of her palms on her face like the little drama queen she is, thinking that I forgot.

My lips widened with a smile, looking at my only happiness, and I said, "Nope, I didn't forget, but I didn't think that you could be this excited for a field trip, knowing how much you hate to walk and that too with your bad classmates."

"But... This is the first time I'm going out of this city..." she said with a small smile, fidgeting with her fingers and avoiding my eyes in nervousness. My eyes widened a little in shock, and they instantly filled with guilt. I was so into my work that I didn't take my daughter out.

"How about this? We can go out this month to a place that you wanna visit," I asked with a huge smile to hide my guilt. I promised my Cece that I would be the best mom and dad for her on the day that I gave birth and would never make her regret not having a dad, but I was so focused on making money that I forgot to ask what she needed.

Am I really as good as I claim myself to be?

The guilt and sadness disappeared into thin air as those beautiful brown eyes filled with excitement and happiness locked with mine. Her lips curled into a beautiful bright smile, and she asked in her voice filled with excitement, "Really?"

I nodded my head with a smile, holding her in my lap, and said, "Yes."

"Yeah!" she said excitedly while raising her right hand in the air, and I smiled at that.

I pulled her into a hug and kissed her cheeks, whispering, "I love you, baby."

"I love you too, Momma! You are the best mom in the world," she said with the same beautiful smile, hugging me back. She understands me and has always been a good child. She never asked for anything unless it was required, so I didn't see the things she wished for.

"Baby, if you want something, then please do tell me. I will try to do it no matter what," I said, holding her hands and pulling her into my embrace.

"Fine, Momma," she replied with the same smile as she moved a little from my embrace and looked at my face.

She is my everything, and I would do anything to protect her. Anything.

I got up from the bed, still holding her close to my heart, as we both got up and walked towards the bathroom.

I made her stand on the sink base while grabbing our toothbrush and paste, and gave it to Cece.

We brushed and did our morning routine.

I made her favorite breakfast and packed her lunch with a few healthy snacks and a water bottle.

I packed my bag, and we both walked out of the house, locking the door before checking everything.

"Baby, remember not to fight with anyone unless they start it," I said as we walked towards the elevator.

"I never start the fights, Momma!" She said firmly as she raised her head to look at me with those beautiful doe eyes.

"I know, I know," I said with a smile, carrying her and walking into the empty elevator and continuing, "But only fight back when they cross the line. Don't ever raise your hand at the start, but only do it when they try to get physical, okay?"

She nodded her little head in understanding and gave me her beautiful smile. My heart warmed with it as I kissed her cheeks, returning her my brightest smile.

The elevator door opened on the 3rd floor, and a young handsome man walked in, showing me his sweet smile, and greeting me, "Good morning, Jasmine."

"Good morning, Caleb," I greeted back, turning to Cece, who narrowed her eyes at Caleb and asked, "Uncle Caleb, I just wonder how come you always get into the elevator at the exact same time as we do?"

"Coincidence or maybe fate," his smile widened as he replied to Cece and then turned his eyes to me when he said fate.

I just gave him a smile while Cece didn't like it, so she replied, "Maybe stalking."

"Cece!" I raised my voice a little, and she turned to me, saying "Yes, Momma," showing her most innocent look.

I smiled, remembering the same incident with a different person.

My smile disappeared as a certain person's face flashed across my mind. The same face that gives me nightmares now.

The person I once loved so much and the person that my daughter resembles.
