As they arrived quite early, half of the students were not in the classroom, including Chloe.
Alden, Owen, and Neo sat on their seats and started chatting away.
Swoosh!
A few minutes later, the door slid open, and Chloe walked in.
Everyone in the classroom turned toward her.
Her seat at the first desk was empty, or more specifically, no one dared to take it.
However, this time, she did not walk to her usual seat.
When she entered, she scanned with her eyes throughout the classroom in search of something or someone. When she finally spotted that someone, she started walking toward him.
"I have a bad feeling about this," Alden muttered as he could clearly see Chloe walking toward him.
Neo sat to his right, Owen to his left, and he was in the middle. As they sat on two desks, there was still one empty seat.
Chloe stopped right before Owen. "Move!" She uttered coldly.
"I-I..." Owen stuttered in shock and a little fearful. "W-What happened? What did I do?"
"What is your problem?" Neo stood up.
"Nothing," Chloe replied coldly. "I just want to sit."
"Go back to your own seat!" Neo exclaimed angrily.
This caught the attention of the other students and caused them to start gossiping about what was going on and the relationship of Chloe with the group of three boys.
However, Chloe ignored them, and Neo as well. "MOVE." She spoke in an intimidating voice, staring with her silver eyes right into Owen's.
Owen, being timid, it was not in his nature to stand up for himself, so he just lowered his head and obeyed. He stood up and moved to the seat on his left, leaving the seat to Alden's left free.
Without another word, Chloe sat on the seat beside Alden.
"I said get away from here..." Neo extended his arm to grab Chloe by her uniform, but before he could reach her Alden grabbed his hand.
"Alright, Neo. Leave it be." Alden spoke calmly, accepting the fact that Chloe wasn't going to move. If he understood one thing about her in the short conversations they had, it was that she was stubborn. She would do what she had in mind no matter what.
"But Alden..."
Neo was about to complain, but as Alden turned and stared right into his eyes, he shut up.
"Neo, I am the reason for this. And I know she is not going to leave."
"What do you mean?" Neo questioned, confused.
"I will explain later," Alden replied shortly.
Out of the corner of his eye, Alden threw a gaze at Chloe. "W-What happened to you?"
He turned to her, his eyes wide in shock and disbelief. Although one could barely see it, there was a tiny scratch on her cheek.
"Wha..." Accidentally, Alden looked down and noticed that the uniform on Chloe's arms was torn, and she had scratches all over her arms.
"What happened to you?" Alden grabbed her arm.
The moment he touched her, he felt immense coldness at his fingertips. He instinctively let go of her arm.
When he looked at his palm, he noticed his nails had frozen. 'Had I been a second late, she would have frozen my whole palm.' He thought.
"Do. Not. Touch. Me." Chloe uttered, her voice threatening as her eyes shone in a cold white light.
"Alright, alright. I am sorry." Alden raised his hands in the air. " But what happened to you?"
"None of your business." She responded rudely. "Now, let him come out. I want to see him."
"No." Alden refused without even giving it a second thought. "There are too many students in the classroom. I can not let him out."
"Alright, what is going on?!" Neo had enough and could not take it any longer. He stood up and grabbed Alden by the arm. "Come with me and give me an explanation."
He took Alden a little further from their seat.
"Sigh." Alden sighed. "Long story short, this is what happened..."
Alden explained to Neo what happened yesterday after he left with Chloe. He explained how she wanted to kill him and how Little Rainbow charmed her.
"That bitch, I will take her on!" Neo clenched his fists and was ready to head to Chloe and face her.
"Neo, please calm down. "Alden grabbed his arm, stopping him. "It's all in the past. Since nothing happened, just let it go.
Also, though she said she would keep my secret, there is no telling what she would do If we cross her."
"In other words, she has us in her palm," Neo concluded.
Though he hated to admit it, it was the truth, so Alden nodded in response.
"Alright." Neo gave in with a big sigh. "But If I see her try to do anything again, I will take care of her."
Alden and Neo then returned to their seats.
With Chloe sitting with them, Neo, who usually talked in situations like this, fell silent. Neither Alden nor Neo felt comfortable talking in front of Chloe. As for Owen, he was quiet as usual.
Swoosh!
At that moment, the door slid open.
Carol and his two lackeys entered the classroom.
"What is this?!" The instant Carol entered the class, he spotted Chloe sitting beside Alden. His expression turned grim.
Without thinking for even a second, Carol ran toward Alden and the others.
"What are you doing with her!" Carol grabbed Alden for the collar. "Didn't I tell you she is mine?! Didn't I tell all of you? SHE IS MINE!"
Pam!
While holding him with one hand for the clothes, Carol threw a fist to Alden's face, right into his nose.
"What are you doing!" Neo jumped from his seat and took Carol for the neck.
Carol immediately let go of Alden, and Alden fell back on his seat with blood dripping from his nose.
"L-Let...me...go." Carol barely uttered. He barely even breathed as Neo's grip around his neck was tight.
"C-Come help... me," Carol uttered.
His two lackeys immediately ran at Neo.
"Enough!" Alden shouted, wiping the blood off his nose.
Hearing Alden's shout, Carol's lackeys froze.
"Neo, let him go."
"But Alden, he..."
"Neo, it's alright. Let him go." Alden spoke without even the slightest bit of anger in his voice. "We can not kill him."
Unwillingly, Neo let go of Carol's neck.
"Cough, cough!" Carol coughed as he greedily gasped for air.
"Carol, listen to me." Alden continued speaking. "Chloe willingly sat beside me. If you do not like it. You can take it on her."
Carol looked at Chloe angrily.
"Do not stare at me like that," Chloe spoke coldly. "You can stop your efforts to keep everyone away from me.
I am not your possession, nor do you have the power to make me listen to you. Now, scram!"
Unwillingly and embarrassed, Carol turned around. "Let's go." He said to his lackeys. "This is not the end." Before leaving, he turned to Alden and threatened.
"Why did you let him hit you?" Neo questioned angrily. "You should have seen him run to you. Had you reacted, he would not have been able to even touch you."
"There was no need to reveal my strength. I don't want to attract attention on me."
"Alden, you are too passive." Neo calmed down a bit. "If you don't reveal your strength, they will trample over you."
"Yes, they will," Alden said. "But, If I reveal my strength, in the future, I must join the military. However, if I become strong enough before revealing my strength, they would not be able to do anything to me."
"Alden, sometimes, the circumstances do not allow us to hide our strength. The best way to protect yourself from your enemies is to show them you can crush them anytime you want."
"Neo." Alden turned to Neo and stared him dead in the eye. "I have no enemies."
Seeing Alden's deadly serious expression, Neo's eyes widened in shock as this was his first time seeing Alden this serious. He did not say anything. He fell silent.
The four of them once again sat in silence.
Ringggg!
A few minutes later, the bell rang, indicating the beginning of the first class.
Swoosh!
The door slid open, and Linda entered the classroom.
The classroom fell into silence, and the students all straightened their backs.
Tap! Tap!
The only sound in the classroom was the sound of Linda walking on the wooden floor.
She stood behind the teacher's desk and with her index finger, pushed her glasses back.
"Today, all three classes are with me." She announced. "Our first class, we will go on to the fourteenth floor. There, some of the students will face wild untamed beasts.
For the second class, we will return to the eleventh floor, and you will have a battle with each other.
As for the third class, we will have a joint lessons class with the class 1-2A."
Gossip immediately spread throughout the classroom. The students gasped in shock at the idea of students facing wild untamed beasts.
Neo looked at Alden without saying a word.
"What's the matter, Neo?"
"Alden, the fat kid we sat in the cafeteria with on the first day, isn't he in the class 1-2A?" Neo asked. "What was his name again...I can't remember."
"Ohh. He was quite large." Alden remembered for whom Neo talked and remembered how he looked, but he did not remember his name. "But what was his name? Owen, do you remember it?"
"I-I think it was George," Owens spoke shyly.
"Ohh. Right..."
"SILENCE!"
Slam!
Linda slammed on the desk. "Who allowed you to talk?"
The classroom once again fell into silence.
"Follow me!"
Linda led the way out of the classroom to the elevators.
"Remember, choose the fourteenth floor." She reminded the students again as she entered the elevator.
"Let's go. Follow me!" Chloe spoke to Alden as she entered an elevator.
Alden let out a sigh and followed her in the elevator. Behind him, Neo and Owen followed.
Carol was about to enter the elevator with them. But Chloe blocked the way. "You do not get on."
Anger arose in Carol, but before he could complain, the door of the elevator closed before his face, and the elevator went up.
