Chereads / Mythmaker System: Last Chance / Chapter 32 - Yonder

Chapter 32 - Yonder

[Constellation: Duck of Yonder is descending…]

The space around the forest shattered like broken glass as a monstrous arm slammed itself onto the forest floor.

Sturdy ancient trees were crushed like ants under the immense strength of the limb. Slowly, the crack widened as the protective boundaries surrounding the planet were pierced.

Soon, this Planet would be invaded by foreign entities.

Storm clouds filled the sky, signaling the end of the Challenge. The world silently started to cry, mourning the death of its master.

[You have accomplished a monumental achieve■ent!]

[You have slain Fa■len Constellation: Emperor of Noxus]

[You h■ve received a relic: Broken Hope.]

[You have received Myth: Rain]

[You have received ■■■ points.]

The system is collapsing..

Without the authority of a manager, a Challenge was unable to sustain itself. The boy stared at his hand. Temporarily possessing the body of the current Mythmaker, the hero activated the aspect of the fallen Constellation.

'Rain.'

Like a vacuum, the pouring rain gathered around the Mythmaker. Taking the form of a miniature tornado, Nox propelled himself with the flowing liquid. He was aiming to lead the Constellation away from Elysia.

Using the rain, he created a makeshift blade. The water seemed to harden as it gathered the nearby energy, enhancing itself.

Swinging it, the longsword easily cut through the trunk of a tree.

Without warning, a massive arm slammed into the hero. Nox instantly erected a barrier of liquid, dispersing some of the damage. Simultaneously, both of his aspects flared.

'Struggle. Slice.'

Time seemed to reverse as the attack nearly crippled the Challenger, only for a wave of energy to instantly repair his broken body.

'The kid has some useful abilities… this'll do.'

Breaking his fall with one hand, he unleashed a barrage of strikes with the other. The free-flowing blade blurred through the air, slicing into the demonic limb.

Drawing a few drops of blue blood, the boy quickly disengaged. His torn muscles were already healed.

The crack in space widened further. Nox frowned as he saw a second limb trying to fit itself through the gap.

A streak of thunder ran through the blue claws, burning the surrounding trees to a crisp. Cleverly manipulating the rain, the mythmaker managed to guide the current away from him.

Tremors shook the entire island. The second limb had descended.

「You are terrified.」

「Your Divinity has resisted the debuff.」

A humongous beastial eye stared through the teared space.

"I s■e y■u." A muffled voice spoke out.

'As expected… it can't use it's full power just yet.'

Having made a decision, the hero summoned a relic.

Broken pieces of metal poured down onto his hands as his eyes flashed a violet hue. Smiling, he looked towards the sky. A deafening roar broke him out of his daze.

Bending his knees, Nox exploded forwards. The air around him ripples, seeming to part away from the sheer speed.

A whirlpool of rain enveloped the boy, creating a pair of transparent wings.

Soaring through the forest, he managed to dodge a monstrous hand trying to grab onto him. Spinning around, a swift blow managed to sever a finger off the Constellation.

The beast growled in pain, it's bloodlust increasing. Guided by a power that was and wasn't his at the same time, the Mythmaker made his way to the broken space.

Through a crystal orb, hundreds of Constellations watched from the Hall of Constellations.

A goblin adorned in hundreds of gold accessories traversed through the hall. As he passed, a few of the Constellations threw relics and other powerful items at him.

"Place your bets! Last call for bets!" The green-skinned creature bellowed, chuckling as it sprinted at a mesmerizing speed.

Stopping the gambler, a masked figure threw him a small white rock.

"This is.." Stopping in surprise, the goblin observed the item.

"Tooth of the Greater Constellation."

"Unpredictable as always, aren't you?. Now, hurry it up, how long do you think the boy will last? The highest bet is 5 minutes from the Archbishop of Depths." He asked with a smile, caressing the relic.

"Last? I bet that the boy wins." Loki replied with a calm expression.

"Real funny, trickster. Now stop wasting my time, I have to get to the other Constellations."

The masked constellation simply stared at the goblin, flashing a devious grin.

"Wait… you're serious? Well, thank you for the gift! I didn't know you were such a generous guy." It laughed, hurrying away into the distance.

Watching the green-skinned creature mingle with the other entities, the trickster whispered into the air.

"Kill him, Mythmaker."

"Mmmm…?"

A black-haired girl woke up, sweat dripping down her body. Looking around her, she found that someone had brought her to safety.

"Nox? Where are you?"

Suddenly, she felt goosebumps rise up on her arm. Tables and chairs were flipped over as the windows began to crack.

Using a wave of verdant-energy, Elysia burst through the walls of the building. She stared into the distance.

In the sky, huge storm clouds were gathering together.

Gathering the energy around her, the mage burst through the forest, just in time to see Nox leap into the gaping maw of a monstrous creature.

"Nox!" The girl screamed, not believing her eyes.

It turned its gaze onto Elysia. Massive red eyeballs etched into her soul, causing her to freeze on her spot.

「You are terrified.」

「You are unable to move.」

'Move… move!'

Then, the Constellation approached her. Towering over the entire island, each step smashed into the earth with unfathomable power.

A flash of blinding light engulfed the entire planet as the duck showed a look of surprise. Its body was glowing with a purple hue from the inside.

Then, it happened.

Small cracks emerged on the protective scales of the beast. Slowly growing, they extended until the whole body resembled a cobweb pattern.

Trying to reach inside its mouth, blue blood splashed on the ground, burning a hole straight into the center of the planet.

The creature slowly faltered, its powerful legs wobbling. Crashing onto the ground, the impact caused a wave of dust to rush outwards, blinding Elysia's vision.

[Challengers will be teleported in 10 seconds…]

Without warning, the Duck of Yonder exploded from the inside, sending pieces of superheated projectiles throughout the entire island.

Seeing a piece of flesh impaling into a mountain, she quickly tried to erect a shield.

[Challengers will be teleported in 3 seconds…]

[Challengers will be teleported in 2 seconds…]

[Challengers will be teleported in 1 seconds…]

A broken piece of scale almost pierced into her at the last second, getting blocked by the green necklace.

As the mage unwillingly lost consciousness, a whisper drifted into her head.

[You have survived the First Challenge!]

[Your rank : 2]

[You have completed 3 Hidden Missions.]

[Calculating rewards…]

A laugh echoed throughout the heavens.
