[The next day]
Lukas woke up, scratching his hands. He freshened up quickly before shoving a piece of bread into his mouth while standing on the teleportation area.
Today would be a very special day. He would beat the boss org on the 10th floor today.
Yesterday's practice increased his confidence even more to kill that org boss. He was killed because he couldn't move faster with this slow body of his. And when he tried casting, it always got interrupted.
No, the boss wasn't specially designed like that. He could also understand why it was the case.
The tower's main focus was to train them in worst-case scenario situations, not in normal situations where it would be in their favor.
Reaching the ground, he started heading towards the tower, which was just behind the sigil's library.
Reaching the place, Lukas was kinda shocked seeing that it was still crowded, which he didn't expect as it was quite early in the morning.
Without any further delay, he entered the tower. The same sensation spread throughout his body.
Before he appeared in front of a small goblin, Lukas frowned. Shouldn't it be the org?
"Welcome back, Lukas ver owsdin," a voice rang out.
"Floor one will start in a few seconds. No rewards will be given as the Trainee has already passed the floor. No charges have been applied as it's a passed trial. Further note: Credit points will only be charged upon entering the new floor and rewards will be given upon clearing," the voice continued.
Lukas wasn't expecting this. He thought he would spawn directly on the 10th floor, but it would start again.
He again realized how monstrous those top rankers are. They are on freaking one hundred plus floor.
He took a deep breath. He really underestimated this powerhouse once again. He prepared himself and took out his soul gear, just the pen this time.
The pen appeared in his hand and started expanding right away. At the same time, the timer turned zero. Without any further delay, he dashed towards the goblin. His feet glowed as he slashed down his saber.
Before the goblin could even react, Lukas swiftly struck it down, his saber cutting through the air with precision. Green blood sprayed everywhere as its halved body slowly fell to the ground.
It disappeared slowly, and right away the echoing voice rang out before the goblin's corpse disappeared and got replaced by two goblins right away.
"Trial starts in 1 second," the voice announced.
Lukas cursed and retreated as the goblins appeared right where he was standing. As expected, he leapt just in time as the two goblins started moving.
"The difficulty is increasing!" Lukas muttered before rushing towards the two goblins. His feet glowed as he used aura. His speed doubled, and right away he closed the distance and quickly covered his saber with aura, launching a diagonal slash at the two of them. The aura modified by his soul gear turned purple before rushing towards the two unfortunate goblins and detaching their heads from their bodies.
He swiftly passed through them gracefully, coming to a stop behind them. Green blood sprayed the ground like fountains from their headless bodies before falling to the ground.
Beads of sweat dripped from his body as he turned around slowly.
Using aura was still exhausting for his body, as he expected. He thought and patiently waited for the voice to ring and the next trial to begin.
Soon after, the next trial began and his training started.
Meanwhile, at the Rhys Verdon estate.
In the conference room, Rhys Verdon was in an important meeting. An older man named Sir Ayjak Qurt sat on the other side, a smile on his face, long flowing white hair, and wearing long robes. He had a small hat on top of his head.
On his left side sat a serious-looking man, eyes closed and hands folded, deep in thought. The other seats were filled with important people whom Rhys trusted.
Today's meeting was very important. It was about an unexpected expedition that he was not prepared for.
And now, yesterday, the news arrived with one hundred percent accuracy.
The information was the existence of the fourth mana vein of the continent.
Rhys Verdon took a deep breath. The existence of a fourth mana vein could shift the balance of power in the continent, potentially bringing about unprecedented advancements or turmoil.
He wasn't expecting the information to be accurate, as the source was none other than his own son.
"We should start heading there, Rhys, my friend," the serious-looking man on the right side spoke.
Ayjak also nodded his head, showing his agreement. Everyone remained silent, waiting for Rhys to speak.
"Yes, we should," Rhys said, gazing to the right side.
Right away, a shadowy figure covered in dark clothes appeared and bowed down.
"Inform the head family, including the exact survey details," his voice echoed in the silent room full of people. The shadowy figure bowed before disappearing.
Rhys Verdon stood up and reached out his hand forward. "We will head off today. Prepare for the expedition. Duration: one year."
Everyone began conversing and stood up one by one, leaving hurriedly.
They were not your typical normal people. They were the kings and queens, the high nobles of various kingdoms under his estate or from the Solaris Empire.
That's the influence that the name OWSDIN represents.
Meanwhile, another group was heading overseas with a list in their hands. Their objective? Recruitment and protection.
If Lukas were here, he would realize that the name written on the list was none other than the crew members of his past life. It was the same list he had handed to his father. After verifying the exact details of mana veins, yesterday he didn't hold back anymore and used all of his authority to get things done. Specifically, this recruitment list and mana veins are prioritized.
