Hex got closer to the gate and fairly built fence of the graveyard. The gate was slightly opened, enough for him to pass.
He makes it to the gates after a brief sprint. Hex turned his head around to see if any Earth dwellers were behind, luckily there were none.
'I have to lock these gates to stop these Earth dwellers from following...'
He examined the gates till he discovered the key concealed within its hole.
He swiftly pounced on it and pulled with both hands. To his amazement, it didn't bulge.
"What the heck is this key doing? Don't you defy me!" At this point, Hex repeatedly pulled abruptly on the key, but it would not come out.
Hex was terrified; if he left the gates without closing them, the Earth dwellers would undoubtedly follow. This he couldn't allow.
'Work you rusty hole!'
Click!
The sound the keyhole made after he accidentally turned it jolted Hex. He winded it again hearing a similar clicking sound.
'Stupid me, why didn't I think of that?'
{Phantom Notification}
{Dumb skull in activation}
'Still can't come to terms with the reality that I just sold my brain for power.'
Hex wiggled the key lightly, removing it easily from the hole.
He proceeded to the narrow gap in the gate, twisting and fitting himself to fit through and out the gates.
Afterwards, Hex pulled close the door shutting the little space he used to get out.
Krieeecchk! Bruuiicck!
Just in time, Hex watched dozens of Earth dwellers charging at him from afar.
'Hehehehe, I guess those bastards are dead! Now I can lock these gates without any hesitation.'
Hex lodged the key into the hole twisting it until he was satisfied by the two clicks it gave.
"Damn you Earth dwellers!" Hex screamed at the top of his voice victoriously. He removed the key from its slot, tossed it into his mouth, and swallowed it.
"Gaahh!!!" He regretted his action immediately, choking on it before swallowing it completely. 'Why the hell did I do that? It must be the effects of that Phantom whatever on me, there's no time for that.'
Hex turned away coughing from the disturbance the key caused in his body and the taste it gave. Like someone scratched his butt with the key and used it to open the door.
'Disgusting stuff.'
"Arrrrgggh!"
"We are gonna die!"
"The Cursed ones are coming!"
"Arrrrgggh! I can't live this hell anymore!"
Hex's eyes sparkled at the sight of it; people yelling, fleeing, and generally in disarray.
A large tight crowd on the street, probably headed to the Innerwood dorm or anywhere to be called safe.
But where Hex was heading to, was to find his mother.
'All of a sudden I can't remember home, no matter how hard I try!'
Hex racked his brain. In his old life, he owned a retentive memory, but now it was like every thought he needed ran to hide from his mind.
'Maybe I should have just gone bald.'
Hex bit hard on his lips searching his mind for any possibilities. Yes, it was a yellow building..... He could remember that but, where was this distinct building?
Fwuuullp!
A ominous mood suddenly enveloped the whole street, bringing everyone and everything to a standstill.
At this point, everything was dead still; no one dared to move an inch from where they stood; why?
The smell of ashes and the distinct loud flapping that sounded like thunder were the only indications of this abrupt chaos.
Hex ceased his breath all too familiar with this situation. There it was, the flapping intensified and a deep growl that was audible to human ears.
Raaayyyaaacck!
The crowd erupted into commotion as the origin of the feared figure was revealed.
Booomm!
Hex tilted his gaze to his left. A flying creature, soaring close to the ground, large spike-like wings tearing apart the buildings it touched with the slightest.
A snake-like head that was rather bulky and frightening to look at, a scaly body that appeared to be impenetrable armor, and a lone spike-like tail to supplement it's scary figure.
Raaayyyaaacck!
It gave another fear-jerking shriek causing more commotion amid the crowd. Oh yes, it was headed their way.... Fast.
'Damn, my worst enemy, a dragon... I have to blend in with the crowd before it spots me!'
Hex darted into the crowd, it was a probability guess.
If the dragon flew over them he would survive but if it spat down it's chilling flames then he would be toast.
Hufffk! Booomm!
"Buek!"
"Arrrrrcccchhhkkk!"
As the dragon flew above the start point of the crowd, it's wings tore apart the buildings close by, burying some of them to piles of blood and knocking others with the gale of hot boiling wind that followed it to their backs.
Fwuuullp!
The dragon gave another ear-piercing shriek flying over them and knocking every single one to their backs and crushing others with the destruction of other buildings.
The wave of the dragon's presence wipes out hundreds!
