The car Kayden drove eventually arrived on a street with an enormous mansion located on it. He parked the car two blocks away from Winston's mansion.
The zombies in this street were almost cleared with zombies as countless zombie corpses littered the street. Only a few zombies remained as they strayed off in this street, walking aimlessly.
"Winston, I can't drive further since there seem to be people outside your mansion. From what I can see, they haven't broken through the gate yet but they are currently planning to do so."
Kayden reported to Winston after parking the car.
When Ayame heard that, she took out her metal bat and was ready to attack those invaders if she was ordered to. She wasn't impulsive and dumb so she waited for Winston's order and didn't leave the car.
From what the three of them could see, there was a group of gangsters outside Winston's gate, standing in front of the mansion's gate.
One of the gangsters held a hammer and started hammering the padlock on the gate's lock chain while the rest of the gangsters were on the lookout for zombies attempting to attack them.
Each of the gangsters had a weapon in hand, whether it was a crowbar, metal pipe, baseball bat, etc. However, only one of them had a firearm in hand and it was a pistol used by the leader of the gang.
"Winston, they seemed to have noticed our car. Should we attack now or wait?"
In response to Kayden's question, Winston who was previously silent immediately opened the car and pulled the trigger of his pistol after aiming it.
The bullet traveled in the air until it penetrated the head of the gang leader.
Afterward, Winston said nothing but talked with the gangsters through his pistols.
A series of gunshots resounded in the street and the bodies of all the gangsters fell to the ground with a gunshot in their head in less than a minute.
In the face of range superiority, those gangsters who could only attack a meter in front of them had already died due to Winston's pistols. Winston had killed the gang leader first as well as the gangsters near that gang leader so none of them could pick up and use the gun against Winston.
With such an anticlimactic end, Winston replied to Kayden, "No need to waste your time on this trash. These are just a bunch of morons who coveted my and my father's guns."
"I wanted to hurry here for this reason since I already expected them to ransack my house."
"Now that I have killed them all, we can now park the car outside the mansion gate."
Winston closed the car door and didn't enter it. Instead, he ran towards the mansion gate.
Kayden and Ayame followed as Kayden drove the car while avoiding the corpses littered on the streets, whether it was from zombies or those gangsters.
The gunshots had attracted the zombies but there were only a few zombies remaining in the streets, possibly due to the gangsters killing them before. Those few zombies were easily killed by Winston using his two pistols.
After arriving in front of the mansion gate, Winston took out a key from his backpack and inserted it in the keyhole on the padlock.
The padlock opened and Winston removed the chain that locked the gate. After opening the gate, Winston entered the area outside the mansion.
Walking in the paved road that leads to the mansion's entrance, Winston pointed towards the garage within the mansion's area, "Kayden, park the car in there. I'll lock the gate while we stock up on supplies here. This will be our temporary base for now until we can find a better one."
"I have many guest rooms in this mansion so just pick any one of them."
When Kayden saw the mansion, he was shocked at how rich Winston was. After all, he only had a house that could be considered average since his family was just middle-class and not as rich as Winston.
On the other hand, Ayame wasn't fazed by it and just looked at the mansion as if she was used to seeing them. Ayame wasn't a country bumpkin, unlike Kayden.
Although Ayame wasn't living inside a mansion, that didn't mean she couldn't. She just preferred to live in a simple house with her brother since it was more convenient that way.
The wealth and background Ayame and her brother had were at the top of Blue Star. However, Ayame didn't like relying too much on her family's wealth even if she was the successor of the Shiro Clan.
So, she was a game streamer not because she needed money, but because it was her hobby since she loved playing games.
While Kayden was busy parking the car inside the garage, Ayame had already left the car and caught up with Winston.
After Winston opened the door of the mansion using his key, Winston and Ayame entered the mansion.
"Don't expect any maids and butlers since they had already been fired since a week ago. My father had already expected the zombie outbreak but he didn't bring me with him since he wanted me to survive the zombie apocalypse on my own."
"Or at least, that's the background the game had provided to me. Sigh, it's not easy learning of your existence as an NPC."
