"It seems the villain has escaped," Momo said. Behind him were a group of teachers and guards, all armed with super items. Hovering in the air was the vice principal.
"No, that can't be!" Miss Camila exclaimed as she flew around the vicinity where Momo had claimed to see the villain. "He must be here somewhere. Stop standing around and spread out, all of you."
The group stood in front of an open field located behind the vast university. Overlooking this field were enclosed giant walls with an invisible dome surrounding the academy, making it difficult for any living thing to infiltrate or exit.
"We've already done that 10 times," Momo said with a sigh. "We even contacted the civilian department; they've searched every nook and cranny of the academy, including the rooms and bathrooms, but failed to find anyone."
Despite Momo's words, Camila didn't seem to be listening as she continued to search on her own, her fists clenched tightly.
'Where are you hiding, you bastard!' she seethed with rage, her brain calculating all the things she'll explain to the Brolly Clan and the media about how a villain had infiltrated their academy.
"Camila!" A voice suddenly called out. Not many people called the vice principal by her name, so many of the teachers were curious about this person. Turning around, they could see it was Miss Emerald. Rumors had it that these two were close friends since childhood, but none of the teachers had believed it because the cold vice principal was known for not associating with others.
Subconsciously, everyone thought that she had no friends and was lonely, but today, after seeing the way Miss Emerald called her and seeing the way she stopped her frantic search, it seemed they were proved wrong.
The cold, indifferent woman who barely showed any emotion also had a friend, and this was not just any friend; it was her friend who had been through thick and thin with her.
It was safe to say that Camila trusted only Emerald in this world.
"What if it was a student that did this?" Emerald said with a thoughtful expression after seeing that Camila had calmed down a little.
"Miss Emerald could be right," Momo also stated. "But wouldn't it be more severe if the public knew that we allowed a potential villain to be admitted as a student in the number one Hero Academy?"
Thinking about it, everyone understood that what Momo said made a lot of sense. A villain infiltrating the academy was a better narrative compared to them accommodating a villain in the academy.
If news about this gets out, not only will the press and public ridicule them, but even their competitors, other schools, wouldn't waste this chance to jump on them. The staff there could already picture the scenario of parents protesting for the Elite Academy to close down because they felt their children weren't safe.
After considering all this, Camila spoke. "For now, we would tell the public and media, plus the Brolly Clan, that a villain infiltrated the academy, while we would carry out a thorough investigation on all the students—"
"Vice principal, I've found the villain!" At that moment, Isaac appeared before Miss Camila and the staff.
Hearing Isaac, Camila and all the teachers turned to the bald man in an instant. If what he was saying was true, that meant they wouldn't have to go through the hurdle of lying to the media. Although they would still face some backlash, they could just hand over the villain to the Hero Bureau and the Brolly Clan to do as they please.
Meanwhile, Momo adjusted his glasses, but there was no panic on his face. Isaac was already staring at him, and if he showed any discomfort, it would only solidify the latter's accusation.
'Kid, I hope you're done already.'
"Where is he?" Camila asked after coming out of her stupor.
Isaac pointed at Momo. "The one killing all the students is none other than Momo Stein's protege! I went to search the Administrative building and found out that Daniel, the guard, was killed and the cell door was wide open with blood everywhere and signs of battle."
After hearing the accusation, everyone was shocked; they didn't believe what Isaac was saying for even a split second because Momo was well respected and had a good reputation throughout the academy. He even held a very high position in the Hero Ranking.
It was just too difficult to believe that someone who had helped humanity and the academy on several occasions could connive with a villain to kill students.
"Are you sure of what you're saying?" Camila asked with narrowed eyes. She only respected a few people, and Momo was one of them because of his past contributions to the superhero world and the academy. Even the principal held him in high esteem.
"Those are some serious allegations against me, Isaac," Momo said calmly. "Are you sure of what you're saying?"
A red vein started to pop out on Isaac Temple as he saw that nobody was believing him. A transfer teacher from another academy, Isaac was still pretty new to the academy, but he'd been with them long enough, so why were they still treating him as an outcast?
"If you don't believe me, then follow me!" Isaac spat out with visible anger on his face. "Maybe if you see the state of the prison, then you'll believe me!"
"What should we do if we find out that you're lying?" Momo said. "It wouldn't be right if you go scot-free after accusing me wrongly."
"Fine then, if it turns out to be false, I'll step down from the administrative council and become a mere teacher."
"Deal then."
After hearing what was at stake, the teachers were starting to become confused. The Administrative Board was an important position because they made all the laws concerning the academy, and even their salary was massive.
For Isaac to gamble such a position, is he saying the truth? Camila thought as she stared at Momo.
A few minutes later, all the teachers arrived before the Administrative Building, and as they stepped inside, they found nothing strange; there weren't even signs of battle. This was making Isaac's chest beat loudly.
'Why am I so nervous?' He thought as the group passed by other empty cells. "Where did all the blood go? Something is definitely wrong here.'
It was at that moment Isaac spotted Daniel, the security guard, in the distance, and he was perfectly fine. Isaac's heart was now beating even louder that Momo couldn't help but comment. "Feeling nervous?"
"Hahaha, you wish," Isaac replied with a laugh, but his mind was chaotic. 'How the heck is this guard still alive?'
Soon they arrived at Nyx's cell, and Isaac was in disbelief because the blood on the cell bars was nowhere to be seen; everything was spotlessly clean. Inside, everyone could even see the red-haired boy sleeping peacefully.
