Chapter 24 - Brother from Another Mother

"E-A-R-T-H. N-E-W-Y-O-R-K."

Jeremy murmured with a cold look on his face, and before he knew it, he opened the maps application on his phone.

He typed New York on the search bar and hit enter.

After a brief second of buffering, a colourful satellite image of Earth zoomed to a huge continent, showing a city. But Jeremy wasn't interested in the city, he directly pressed the directions button.

And by a stroke of luck, it actually showed a route, which was roughly 3-hour drive via car.

'Where am I…' Jeremy squinted his brows and tried to read the words above his location pointer, it was showing New Jersey.

'If I remember correctly, this Johnson dude is from Mexico. I don't know why he is here, but it's a good thing for me. I can rent a car or flight or I don't fucking know. I need to go there.'

Jeremy breathed heavily, his heart aching as he revisited that distorted memory. Nothing was visible and nothing made sense, he didn't know who he was, who that faceless figure was, and why were they drowning.

All he remembered were the words that the faceless figure told to him before it was blown into flesh and blood with a gunshot.

"Sighhhh…" Jeremy breathed a long sigh and buried his head in his pillow, "I don't know why I get chills every fucking time I remember that fucking memory. It happened 50 lifetimes ago, why the fuck do I remember it when I don't remember anything before my 21st lifetime?!"

He just seemed to be ranting and crying, something he hadn't done for ages by now. When was the last time he shed tears?

Was it when he lost his first anal virginity to a femboy?

Was it when his mother was raped by some bandits in a ninja village?

Jeremy scoffed dryly, 'Nah. I never cried for past 10 lives.'

'But this fucking memory makes me cry every time, this disgusting nightmare. Who are you, faceless bastard?' He asked apparently no one, but all he knew was that he was on Earth.

The place where everything began.

He didn't know how but it did, and he was here again. After exactly 50 lives. Is that a coincidence?

'Heh, no. I would be a fool to believe in the coincidences. But there is nothing sure right now.' Jeremy thought as he stretched his limbs and wiped his tears off, 'I need to go to New York and find out what this fuss is about.'

He looked out of the window and saw that the sun was beginning to rise, he had wasted the entire night learning about his body and then crying about the distant memory.

Yawn~

Jeremy got up from the bed and headed to the bathroom for a quick cold shower, it was his calming routine as whenever he feels weird, a cold shower is the best way to cool him down.

***

3 hours later—

Jeremy sat in an expensive restaurant, ordering every different food he could see. He had tried most of the dishes before in some world or another, but there were still a few that seemed to be unique.

*Ring Ring*

His cell-phone rang and he instantly picked up, but the first sound that came from the phone caused him to grimace and regret picking up the phone.

He checked the caller id and as expected, it was 'Brother from Another Mother.'

"Hey brother, wanna hit some bars or something? We have a shoot in 2 days," the dude on the other side spoke casually while Jeremy could hear some muffled moans coming.

"About that, I need a car. I got some work in NYC." Jeremy spoke casually as well, he learnt that New York is called NYC for short so he used that to appear normal.

As for the moans, Jeremy was only mildly annoyed since he was eating while the other guy was fucking.

"Car? You can take my Benz, though I might need it to pick some chicks. Why don't you ask Gerald?" the other guy asked.

"I'll take the Benz, you take Gerald's," Jeremy said and before the other guy could deny, Jeremy hung up.

He didn't even know the name of this 'Brother' of his, so it was best to keep the interactions short and simple. Considering the way they chatted and talked, Jeremy was pretty sure he didn't react differently from how the original would have reacted.

Soon his food was served, making the waitress glance at him weirdly, was this guy going to eat this much food alone? And why does he look so familiar?

But before the poor girl could wonder, she was called by some other customer and dropped the topic.

[ Brother from Another Mother: You son of a bitch I am not giving you my car! ]

Jeremy saw a text and replied while eating using his right hand, [ You: You know the room, drop the keys. ]

[ BFAM: Hell nah. Ask from Gerald. ]

[ You: Come on dude it's urgent, stop fucking around. I mean it metaphorically, you can continue your morning exercise I don't care. Give the car. ]

[ BFAM: Bruhhhhhh, if you dent it, I will make you pay twice the amount. ]

[ You: Isn't it a rental given to you by director? Why being so pissy about it, shut up and send the keys ]

[ BFAM: Whatever, I will send it in an hour. ]

[ You: Good girl ]

Jeremy scoffed as he wiped his lips with a napkin, he missed being so casual with the people he could call friends. It was surely a nice feeling.

[ BFAM: That's what I call your mum. ]

Jeremy glanced at the reply and thought, which mum? I had many.

[ You: Delusions is nice, send the keys, I will go hit the gym or something. ]

[ BFAM: *Reacted to your message with thumbs up* ]

Jeremy chuckled and pocketed his phone, heading to the inbuilt gym inside his building. Considering he was here for the shoot, his apartment was probably just given to Johnny for a few days to stay, which was fine with Jeremy, as he had a lot of work in the NYC.

But heading to the Gym, Jeremy couldn't help but think.

'I wonder if I have some connection with this place too, I find myself here in every once in a while…'
