"Hello sir how may I help you?"
Inside a tall hotel, a young receptionist asked to a young man who was standing beside her counter casually.
His eyes were covered by a pair of dark sunglasses, but she could see the handsome cuts of his face and the stylish blond hair. She blushed slightly.
"One room for 3 days." Jeremy asked coolly, eyeing her from top to bottom, 'Not bad to warm the bed with, but alas, I have important work here.'
"Right away, sir." The receptionist begrudgingly tore her eyes away from his exotic face and began to work on her laptop.
"Sir we have a suite and a deluxe suite available, which one would you like?" she raised her head and said cutely, "Deluxe suite is much better for a man like you, sir, it has laundry features, complimentary breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as 24x7 service!"
Jeremy chuckled slightly at her and shrugged, "Deluxe then."
He made a lot of money with his adult films, so he wasn't worried about the expenses.
"Right away!" Excited about Jeremy's rich attitude, she tapped on the computer and booked his room, giving him a key card for his room.
"Thanks." Jeremy took the key card and began to move, but he felt the receptionist's gaze at him so he turned to her and raised his eyebrows in question.
"Uhm nothing," the pretty girl blushed and turned away before turning back towards him, "I was just telling you that if you need anything please feel free to call on the reception. I'll pick up!"
"Will do, thanks." Jeremy smiled slightly at her, making her heart flutter as the fantasies filled her small brain.
He would have liked to play a little more, but ever since he set foot in this city half an hour ago, he felt a strange pressure enveloping his body, as if someone was watching his every move.
'Fuck.' Jeremy cursed as he felt another stare in his way, but when he turned towards the direction, he saw nothing. There wasn't even a single person in that way, forget the one staring at him. It was empty and plain as if everything he felt was a mere fragment of his imagination.
"Jeremy." Jeremy heard someone say his name and he frantically looked around but the earlier bustling hotel now appeared forsaken. Not a single noise, chatter or a soul could be see no where how he looked.
It appeared abandoned.
"Welcome home, traveller." Once again, a voice filled Jeremy's ears but he found no one.
"WHO IS IT?!" Jeremy asked in a panic, frantically looking around the hotel to find the speaker, or anyone in that regard.
'Creepy as fuck!' Jeremy grimaced and began to speedwalk towards the counter where he had just come from, and luckily, the pretty receptionist was standing there with her back facing Jeremy.
"Hey, I wanted to ask what the direction to the lift is," Jeremy asked politely, flashing a smile to hide his goosebumps.
"Oh the elevator, sir?" the receptionist asked politely, her voice as smooth and calming as before. "It is…" she turned around and instantly, Jeremy screamed.
Like a zombie out of a horror film, the receptionist's face was melting and the flesh behind her skin was oozing out of the cuts on her face. Her eyeball appeared loose, hanging out of her socket with the help of a membrane.
She tilted her head and said, "I will show you the way, sir." As if nothing was wrong and her face didn't appear like it had been mauled by ten dogs.
"N-No-" Jeremy had lived many lives and seen many things, but seeing the woman in front of him with her face cut, flesh oozing and eyes gouged, he gagged. He began to step backwards but the woman began to move even closer to him.
"Sir, are you alright?" The woman opened her lips and her face split, showing disgusting broken teeth and her serpentine tongue. "Do you want water?"
"Stay away from me!" Jeremy nearly screamed from the fear, luckily he had enough control not to shit his pants in front of the zombie woman. And it wasn't scary that she looked like that.
What was scarier was that she was acting as if nothing happened. As if her face wasn't melting and her insides weren't visible, not in a good way.
"Sir calm down please." The woman moved closer while Jeremy stepped backwards, preparing to dash away from this alien woman. As soon as she tried to touch him, he repulsed and pushed her away, making her tumble on the ground and fall down on her ass.
"Ouchhh! What was that for?" The woman rubbed her perky ass in pain and turned her head, before looking back at Jeremy.
"Y-You… What…?" Jeremy's eyes widened when the looks changed again, the receptionist no longer looked like a monster out of a child's nightmare. She looked exactly like the girl he was planning to warm his bed with.
Her eyes got a little teary as she pushed herself back to her feet with some difficulty, "Sir are you okay?"
"Yeah…" Jeremy could only answer as if everything was normal and nothing strange happened, "I think the lift is in that direction. I'll go."
Jeremy spun on his boots and walked away before she could retort. He had no idea what the actual fuck was going on, but all he knew was that it started the moment he stepped foot in New York. On the road his taxi barely avoided a speeding truck.
In the café he stopped to eat, a criminal came and began to shoot at the ground and take hostages for the money. But luckily the police arrived on time.
Ever since he came here it started happening. And just now a few moments ago, he felt someone call him Jeremy.
Not Johnson, not Luke, not Mark or any other fake name he had. He was called Jeremy. His real name, Jeremy.
It must have been the first time someone called him by his real name, but instead of feeling nice or elated, Jeremy felt spooked out. For the first time in his life, he felt how weak and powerless he truly was.
Did he start to get overconfident and casual towards life just because he can reincarnate and doesn't die for ever? Yes.
But finally, it was time to change.
Because he was no longer in the other playgrounds, he is in the world where it all started.
He is on Earth.
