"That was strange…"
Jia muttered as they headed out.
"They called us all the way in to tell us that we cannot meet Zhuo Syaoran? They could have easily conveyed that through the guard, right?"
She heard no response from Mingshen, making her turn back.
"Are you okay?"
Mingshen smiled. "Why would I not be okay?"
She paused and reflected on the past. "Did something happen between your families in the past?"
He stopped and looked at her.
"You always get so strangely…grim when Zhuo Syaoran is mentioned. Even now as you talked to his parents, the air felt so chilly and uncomfortable."
He put his hands in his pockets and shrugged. "Nothing really."
Jia highly doubted the authenticity of his answer. For some reason, her heart sensed a faint distance he subtly and probably unconsciously created.
He chirped. "We can leave now, right? Meeting them was so boring."
