So, what if he spoiled Zara and loved her more than them? Didn't he raise them well and give them everything that they had now?
Even his illegitimate children held positions in his companies openly. Where would they find such a father like that?
Of course, he understood that he was a bit biased towards Lena and her daughter, but what could be done?
He found her around the time he understood what love was like. He fell for her, which was why he scooped her off her feet as soon as he saw her. So why would he not spoil her and her kid?
And to make matters worse, Zara just had to get sick. How could he not make it up to her?
Of course, he accepted the fact that he had indeed spoiled her so much, but what was the use of crying over spilt milk?
Besides, Zara was dying, a fact that they all didn't want to accept. At least that was the case for him, Lena, and his parents. The others just couldn't wait to let her die and get rid of her from their lives.
His daughter, who had never ventured outside, finally wanted to travel before her last day arrived. How could he say no to that?
"It's not like I have never thought of the consequences of letting her out in the open. I know that our enemies had been looking forward to finding at least something on Zara. This way they would bring us down," he sighed dejectedly as he thought of that.
"But ask yourselves right now. Should Zara give up her freedom and remain in lock up simply because of that? Did all the people we raised and trained until now all for show?"
"You all grew up well, dated and started your families. Aren't you just fine now? Whenever someone was in a tight spot or had a misfortune fall on him or her, wasn't the family there for you all?"
"Besides, if we all and the stuff doesn't expose her, how would those people even know that she is a Hansley?"
"I won't ask much from you, but I do hope that as her older siblings please have mercy on her. She grew up without your love and she resorted to finding herself a brother. And look what that decision had resulted in now?" just thinking of that young man who was by his daughter's side, Cade couldn't help but flare up.
He was a man and one who was in love, so he understood that boy perfectly. And just thinking of how much the boy grew up to the extent of taking everything over, even from him, Cade wanted to push all the blame on his kids.
If they had at least tolerated that spoiled little girl, would she have brought a wolf into his house?
"We all don't know what will happen in the next few months, but from what I have been seeing, Zara seems to be recovering, and that is a good sign. So instead of wishing death upon her, we might as well think positively. As long as she gets healthy, I don't think that there would be a need for any hostility among you, siblings."
"Just like how you got your share of what is mine. Fifth is also entitled to hers. Whether she survives this calamity or falls for it, we all need to wait."
"Oh! So, you are saying that we just need to sit back and watch for now?" Selena spoke once again.
Lena glared hatefully at Selena, but the other simply gave her a scoff before looking at Cade.
"Yes. She hasn't done anything wrong that will implicate the family. Besides, I know that some of you had already sent people to tail her. With the security she has and yours, won't she be safe?" Cade asked as his lips curled upwards while recalling how mischievous his children were.
Upon hearing that, the siblings didn't have a face to look at their father, so they all shied away from looking at him.
However, after a while, Mitchell suddenly spoke, making Lena finally feel at ease.
"The RVs and other gadgets I have made for her are all top-notch, and they are infused with military tech. so you all don't have to worry about anything happening to her. If she ever gets in danger, I will receive the report immediately. And just like Father had just said, with so many people guarding her, nothing will definitely go wrong."
Unlike the other siblings, Mitchell didn't have too much hatred towards her fifth sister. In fact, she felt sorry and pity for her. After all, just thinking of being terminally ill for fifteen years and still knowing the time of your death was too much for her to bear.
Besides, fifth wasn't a threat to her. No matter how much she was pampered and spoiled at home, apart from the charity foundation in Zara's name, the hospital that was built and adopted her name and lastly, the University Library at Kuville University that was also in Zara's name. Zara didn't have anything.
Despite her name being everywhere, she didn't own a single share of anything. Zara survived on the allowance that her father was so willing to send to Zara. It was more than any allowance that they had received when growing up.
All of Cade's children had a trust fund from the moment that they were born. They would access it when they were eighteen.
That was one thing that Zara also had, apart from the monthly allowance as well.
All these years, they had just allowed her to splurge as much as she wanted. Apart from spending money, what else was she capable of doing?
And another thing that made Mitchel not see Zara as a threat was the mother. Lena was the typical trophy housewife who had never worked in her entire life.
Cade took care of her when she was in university and once, she graduated, she was married and shortly she gave birth to Zara. Since Lena was young, Cade didn't feel at ease with letting Lena go to work, so he showered her with money, just like he did with Zara.
At the age of forty-five, Lena didn't own a single company in her name. She had, however, a small percentage of shares in her name and the allowance from Cade; she was set for life.
However, her presence wasn't a threat when it comes to assets or inheritance. The pair of mother and daughter were only invincible when it came to Cade's love and no other things.
So, to her, as long as there was something she could do to let Zara splurge money and just enjoy her life before her dying moments, she was willing to do anything.
After all, in three months, she would be gone.
Instead of hating Zara, she might as well be conscious of her other siblings. Who didn't want to gain something for themselves?
