Chapter 3 - Goddess

"This is a waste of time…." Dan mumbled as he gazed around and after an indefinite time passed, he, having read all the lives she had picked to read, turned to face her once again, "Sugar, this is bullshit, I say." He said with a deadpan look on his face.

"Hmmm….." He then seemed to be mulling over something before he gazed back at her with a short exclamation.

"You….are a goddess?" He asked.

Feeling strange, "I am Trivia, Goddess of Tranquillity and Rebirth." She said albeit reluctantly, as she thought that he might treat her differently now that he learned of her identity, but….

"So you can read minds?" He asked quizzically.

"I can?" She replied in puzzlement.

"Then if you promise to not read my mind, but instead you'll only read my life, then you can read my story, it is much spicier than the bland bullshit I have just seen~"

'I don't need your permission?' She tilted her head in confusion, because if she really wanted to read his mind then there wasn't really anything he could do about it, neither could he resist nor could he stop her, if so, why was he telling her what to do? Why did she want to listen to him?

But either way, since the moment she gained a sense of self, this was the first time she saw someone's conscious wake up from that dream like state before the reincarnation, the first time a conscious felt so amusing, the first time she had someone to talk to, the first time somebody else told her what to do, the first time she felt…..alive.

Even though a strange feeling enveloped her conscious, telling her to do what he asked her to, she brushed off that feeling and said to herself that if she was going to do it, then it was to play along with his words, since she found him amusing and didn't want to stop feeling that way so early on.

Wrapping her head around her reassurance, she gazed into his eyes as her sclera blackened and she began to read his life, but didn't read his mind….. it felt like she was watching a movie in a complete third person view.

Then suddenly,

'Why are there so many women in his life!?' She cursed inwardly, and was a bit startled by what she had just thought as she returned to the reality she had created and gazed at 'Dan' with a frowning and questioning gaze, but none of her questions were directed at him, but instead were directed at herself.

"How was it, wasn't it spicy?~" He asked with a smirk.

"...it indeed was….." She mumbled in a low voice, puzzled at the strange 'emotions' assaulting her.

Involuntarily, "Do you love any of those women you have slept with?" She asked before realising what she was asking, without even knowing why she cared.

"Did it seem like it?"

"…..Yes."

"Well…. No" He said, musing at the fact that she had indeed not read his mind, it was either that or she was pretending to have not read.

Then, Dan's ethereal form began flicker.

Noticing which, Trivia hummed in understanding, the happening's reason being; the time she could hold onto an departed soul was limited, hence his soul was beginning to destroy itself by merging with her planetary domain.

With a wave, she sent away the rest of the souls she had picked back to the cloudless skies, and snapped her fingers. Before he could understand what was going on, her reality around them twisted as if it was bound to shatter, before the said reality rewinded itself and by the instance in which that ominous spectacular unfolded, the entire scenery in front of him had changed.

He was now in a castle, a pristine white throne room from a fantasy world to be precise. The ceiling couldn't be seen, or rather the cloudy mist covered one's view stopping them from peering past them, while the room itself was seen stretched far and wide with tens of meters-wide majestic pillars supporting the structure from within, stretching and protruding up to heights unseen.

In that kilometres tall and wide room, finding Trivia, who had disappeared from the spot next to him, didn't even take an instance as her humongous figure could easily be spotted sitting on a contrasting, majestically domineering pure black coloured throne; while as if in an animated show, an eerie blood red coloured carpet unrolled through and beneath his feet, leading directly to the throne, while long bannered, similarly blood red coloured curtains with pure black crowns embroidered on each and every on of them, unrolled from the unseen ceilings and hung only a few meters above the pristine white floor he stood on.

The atmosphere within the room quickly changed to and became divine, enhancing Trivia's already divine beauty while the world itself moved, adoring her.

Or so, it seemed to Dan, who stood dazed, gazing at the Goddess in front of him. He had an instinctive urge to kneel and bow his head to her, but for reasons he couldn't understand, he could resist it.

"Upon you, who amused me, Goddess of Tranquillity and Rebirth, Trivia, with your memoir which has filled me with a flurry of emotions, as a token of appreciation, I shall magnanimously bestow upon you a [Blessing] and a [Wish], whatever it is you may wish for, ask and you shall receive." Every word that left the Goddess' mouth oozed the unhinged authority to command the laws that bound common sense.

Even though she had read his life, it wasn't his mind, hence she became able to predict and guess what his choices might be according to the situation at hand. What she didn't know but was curious about was his thought process that led him to make the choices, and take upon the decisions he took while he was alive, hence she waited, feeling slightly challenged and curious if she is able to guess and predict what his choice might be when he was in front of a God.

Her current guess and prediction was that the man in front of her, with the nerves of steel would probably be plotting to get Trivia herself to do the bidding for him, as it would get him the biggest bet.

"What will be the blessing, I'll be receiving?"

"It'll be an ability that would help you in your future endeavours."

'Ability…. Then I can assume that the world I'll be reincarnating into would be a fantasy world?'

"Will I be able to retain my memories?"

"Yes"

"Will I be born once again?"

"No, but instead you'll be sent to a vessel that's a perfect fit for your soul, your body's age should be approximated to be around 15-18 years."

'Then a transmigration, instead of a reincarnation'

'Things have went according to the how I want them to till now, if this works, I myself might become a god…..'

"Will I get my wish granted after I transmigrate or will I transmigrate as soon as the wish is granted?" He asked, manipulatively limiting the options to two, for her pick one from.

"You will transmigrate as soon as the wish is granted and you'll know what the blessing is after you possess a body."
