Chapter 3 - CH. 3: Interrogation

He struggled in the water as his eyes glowed blue, fingers crackling. "Not fish. I've prepared something far more painful." He grinned ominously.

He thrust his palms onto the ground, as bluish strands of electricity danced in his eyes. His fingers made crackling sounds as his hair stood with the current going through them.

His quirk is Electrokinesis. Well, he had always felt his was slightly different from what he knew about Electrokinesis.

He possesses the ability to mentally generate and manipulate electricity. By focusing his mind, he can harness static electricity or produce it from his own bioelectric currents.

Zzzzzz

His hands quickly discharged the full voltage of his Electrokinesis through the water.

The current found the misty figure, her eyes reflected the power currents surging towards her.

She suddenly felt a tingling sensation all over her body, after that, lights flashing and sizzling sounds resounded in the mansion accompanied by the screams of horrer.

After struggling for a few seconds, her Misty figure collapsed, becoming that of a woman. She lay limp on a puddle of water as she fell unconscious.

Panting heavily, Renjiro powered down his quirk as the last remnant energy discharged into the ground.

His eyes scanned the women still body - she seemed unresponsive but still alive.

"Good, lay there for a while." He heaved a sigh of relief.

His quirk was different from other Electrokinesis quirks. His was weaker and even after years of secretly training his quirk, it didn't increase in power, although he did become more efficient in using the quirk.

He could've used it on her when she was in front of him, but he was unsure if it could actually do anything to her in her Mist form.

Her quirk seems quite peculiar. She can turn into mist and move in that form and probably only takes damage in pain but not permanent damage. He did not use his quirk for the surprise factor, so he planned to make her wet with water thinking it had more efficiency, and it did work.

'Why did she not think I had a quirk? Well, like many she probably thought it was something useless.' Taking a huge breath he stood up slowly as the blood from his left shoulder trickled down and mixed in the water on the floor.

First ensuring that his enemy was truly unconscious and posed no more threat, Renjiro looked over to assess his own injuries.

The mist tendrils had shredded both skin and clothes but left only surface wounds, other than a gash at his left shoulder. He quickly ran into the kitchen and brought back a big first aid kit, although it looked like an operation kit. He started treating himself since he knew basic first aid, after disinfecting and tightly dressing up his wounds he took out a syringe and filled it up with a sedative.

He injected it into the lady. She will be unconscious for 9-12 hours with the dosage he had given her.

Standing up he looked at her body. The woman had an athletic, slender build standing at average height. She had shoulder-length black hair as she appeared to be around 30 to 35 years old.

She had a beautiful face only covered by a scar that ran down from her eyes to the nose. Tattoos covered much of her neck and arms in intricate black ink patterns. She was wearing a skin-tight black dress.

Renjiro took thick coils of mountain climbing rope and thoroughly bound her limbs and torso. After searching her clothes for any concealed devices or weapons, he discovered a few things which seemed to be some sort of photographs. After checking her again, he lifted her unconscious body and put it over his shoulder to transport to a secure room.

After the intruder was contained, Renjiro swept through the mansion calling out for the caretaker and security team. To his relief, he discovered them alive with only minor injuries.

After quickly applying first aid, he judged it best not to involve any police until understanding more about tonight's attack. He left the guards unconscious and went into the security system room.

Renjiro discovered most of the sensor network smashed and destroyed. But after an intense 30 minutes of trying to piece everything together, he managed to partially restore visual feeds from the perimeter and interior cameras.

Accessing stored footage, he pieced together the attack timeline. He didn't see much other than a shadowy mist infiltrating the mansion through gaps in the doors. Her vaporous form let her slip past motion detectors and thermal cameras.

Coalescing into a hooded humanoid figure, she ambushed and incapacitated the guards. Renjiro marveled at how she leveraged her Mist Quirk's qualities to completely evade the mansion's surveillance and defenses.

"This attack had been carefully planned. She seems to not have been at her full power when she fought me. Although I did hear about assassination attempts on people like my mother, I didn't think there would be this much danger." Saying that, he looked at the computer screen only to notice the time was 2 am.

He leaned back in the chair as he gained access to cctv of the room that the woman was imprisoned in.

He took out the things that he got from the woman, To his shock, they were pictures of him ranging from when he was 10 years old to his current age.

His brows furrowed. "I can understand if she got my recent pictures, but how did she get the pictures of my 10-year-old self?" It's not like he was a celebrity or something.

A smile appeared on his face after seeing the pictures.

"I need some information." He quickly took out his phone and made a few phone calls.

==========

In a dimly lit room, a woman was tied up to a chair. As Her eyes slowly opened, she felt her memory all fuzzy. Immediately, she tried to move but she couldn't feel her arms or legs at all.

"What is...happening?" She spoke out, but even her speaking became slow. After finding that she could move her head, she lifted her drooped head up, only to see a person sitting right in front of her in the same type of chair she was tied to.

The figure seemed to put something in its mouth every second as it looked straight back at her. As her blurry vision became more and more clear, she found that the figure was none other than the boy she came to capture.

"You." She again tried to move but to no avail.

"Stop trying to do anything. It's not like you really think you can escape after being captured. You're still in a sedated state. You're probably feeling all numb and fuzzy, because of that you can't control your limbs in this state, so just forget about using your quirk." Ren spoke as he put aside the bowl of noodles he was holding.

'I put too much hot sauce, fuck. Even after all these years of living alone, I can't even make noodles.' He inwardly thought.

The woman suddenly calmed down as she looked straight into his eyes.

"You assassins are too crafty, being able to change your emotions like that." Renjiro commented as he leaned forward.

The woman put her face forward to face him. Her lips twisted into a mocking smirk. "Boy, I know what...you're expecting. I won't give you information....even if you torture me. It's not like I didn't...endure it in the past. Just kill me already." She spoke. Her eyes were unwavering and her voice resolute.

"I don't understand that logic at all. I will release you without hurting you if you give me the information I want. Even if you don't trust me, why not take the gamble? " He spoke. His voice sounded genuinely confused.

The woman didn't say anything and only smiled.

Looking at the smiling face, a similar smile also appeared on Renjiro's face.

"Are you from an assassin organization? Probably something like that, right? I don't think you love them enough to give your life. Did they hold something dear to you? Something like this?" He suddenly took out his phone and showed her a picture.

The woman's smile suddenly froze as her lips quivered.

The picture contained three people: two cute girls with similar facial features and a woman who was none other than herself.

"Where did you get this picture?" The woman lost her calm and shouted.

"You really want to know? I'll tell you, but you better be preparing your answers for my questions then.

"Your name is Harishimo Miko. You got married at the age of 25 to a foreigner. After living with him for 2 years you gave birth to twins. Well, from the outside everything seemed good, but that was all from an outsider's perspective.

Your husband was an abuser, putting you through the worst in those two years. After two years, you took the children and started living in a different home. However, he used to come and harass you and demand his children back. Finally, you seemed to gain enough courage to go to the police and then court.

Well, after that everything seemed to go wrong for you. Miraculously your husband actually won the case and proved your allegations wrong in court. The court gave full authority over the children to him. After that, he made sure you never met them using the court orders.

After a year, he moved out from tokyo, without telling you. Well, After that you crazily searched for your children for a year, but you couldn't find them. Than one day you suddenly deleted all your social media accounts, everything related to you from social media, and suddenly vanished."

That's your story, right?" He gasped after speaking everything without taking break and calmly smiled at her.
