William marveled at the nearly one million Health Point that Sacario now possessed. The dragon's strength far exceeded his own, especially in terms of physical strength, where each Point equated to 200 Health Point, compared to William's 120 Health Point per Point in his epic form.
The disparity was not insurmountable, and William's abilities and talents also stood out. In particular, Sacario possessed a unique combination of fire and thunder talents, which William found truly remarkable.
Sacario's nature was unlike anything William had seen. He had a fiery temper, possibly stemming from his twin elemental attributes. This unique aspect of Sacario was something that William had yet to fully explore, but he could feel the immense power it held.
As William had previously discovered, the bond between him and Sacario was unlike anything he had ever experienced. When he had ridden the Dragon Tooth Platform, he had activated a unique talent:
[Twilight Dragon Knight: You are one with the Twilight Dragon. You can control the dragon under you as if it were your own body.]
The benefits of this bond were evident. William's attributes received a 30% boost, his attack power increased by 50%, and his attack range extended by 30%. He and Sacario shared a Thunder talent, amplifying their thunder-based abilities by 50%. Riding Sacario also provided shared Health Point and regeneration speed, along with an additional 2000 Points of defense. Their vision was synchronized, and each of William's attacks now carried the potent Dragon Power effect, a mental shock to their adversaries.
William couldn't help but revel in the newfound power that came with being a Dragon Knight. He realized that as long as he rode Sacario, he could easily handle most Epic Level opponents, with the exception of Legendary figures.
Their synergy was undeniable, as Sacario accelerated to supersonic speeds, trailing thunder and fire behind them. William wielded his "Thunder Chopper," creating dazzling arcs of lightning in the sky.
Together, they unleashed their might in a breathtaking spectacle, leaving even the most experienced travelers and Professionals in awe of their prowess.
William couldn't contain his excitement and laughter, which echoed throughout the sky, startling the residents of Dawn City. His laughter resonated with a sense of invincibility, sending shivers down the spines of those who heard it.
"I may not be invincible, but I'll allow myself to be a little arrogant for a change. Come, let's explore the world," William declared, patting Sacario's resilient scales.
With a low growl, Sacario soared higher into the sky, embarking on a journey that stretched beyond imagination. Wherever they went, they left a trail of admiration and astonishment, a Dragon Knight and an epic Twilight Dragon in perfect harmony.
Their presence sent shockwaves throughout the southern region, as the news of their Legendary partnership spread far and wide.
Meanwhile, William also announced plans to construct a magic tower in Dawn City. This news sent legal Professionals in the southern region into a frenzy of excitement. The prospect of a magic tower in Dawn City, coupled with the city's favorable treatment and minimal restrictions, attracted legal Professionals from all corners, eager to witness this historic development.
"Limitation: you must sit on the dragon's tooth stage to activate this talent." With this final clause, the bond between William and the majestic Twilight Dragon, Sacario, was sealed.
"What is a mount? This is a mount!" William's laughter echoed through his mind as he relished the exhilarating union of souls with Sacario.
A resounding boom shattered the stillness of the sky. Sacario, the Twilight Dragon, harbored no reservations now. It could feel the extraordinary strength of their partnership, a sensation that awakened its desire to soar freely.
The dragon, spanning over 30 meters in length, surged forward at supersonic speed, leaving a trail of thunder and fire in its wake. In the blink of an eye, it crossed the heavens and soared far beyond the horizon.
William, clutching his "Thunder Chopper," swung it with a force that sent arcs of lightning slicing through the sky, illuminating the world below.
Xiao Hei, sensing William's excitement, joined in with a breath that spanned a thousand kilometers. Thunder and fire intertwined, weaving Dragon language magic into a fiery tornado that seemed to sweep the boundless sea of clouds ahead.
"Unbelievable! This sensation is beyond exhilarating!" William exclaimed as he continued to unleash a barrage of powerful strikes. Far from feeling fatigued, he relished the feeling of overwhelming might and boundless expansion.
Prince William couldn't help but reflect, "The strength of Dragon Knights truly deserves the blessings of nature. If only the dragon race didn't harbor such ill will towards humans, and if the human Empire didn't have a penchant for slaying dragons, there would surely be more Dragon Knights in the realm of gods."
"However, it's important to note that while Dragon Knights are formidable and suited to lead legions into battle, they may not necessarily compete with the very best Professionals." With control over the Twilight Dragon and the ability to see through Xiaohei's eyes, William understood the nuances of this partnership.
It was akin to a duel between two entities.
The dragon family boasted remarkable endurance and explosive power, but they fell short in terms of speed and agility when compared to top-tier Professionals.
Hence, Dragon Knights were not invincible.
William contemplated this, acknowledging that even if he rode Sacario into battle, he might not prevail against top-tier epics like Thunder God due to the latter's superior speed.
Yet, the tables had turned, as the combined Health Point and regenerative abilities of William and Sacario were now at his disposal.
With over a million Health Point at their disposal and their rough, resilient forms, they could hardly feel the sting of their adversaries' attacks. William's presence on the dragon's back turned their once-vulnerable spot into a newfound source of strength.
Inspiration struck William as he pondered, "Could I utilize 4% of my Thunder Heart's blood for this?" His eyes sparkled with newfound hope.
If this talent indeed functioned as intended…
Calculations ran through his mind. What was 4% of 1.1 million Health Point?
The answer: 44000 Health Point.
Without further ado, the prince used his weapon on himself.
It worked!
William found himself rejuvenated, though the 4% boost in maximum Health Point was but a drop in the ocean compared to their vast total. Nevertheless, it was a remarkable feat.
"In essence, as long as I ride this dragon, there's hardly anyone in the epic realm who can challenge us, save for the Legendary titans," William chuckled heartily, his laughter carrying far and wide. Civilians and Professionals in Dawn City were both amazed and frightened by his outburst.
His laughter, so unconventional and brimming with confidence, gave the impression that he was invincible.
"I may not be invincible, but there's no harm in a bit of arrogance for a change. Let's take to the skies and explore!" William exclaimed, patting the sturdy scales of Sacario.
Xiao Hei responded with a low growl, and with a resounding roar, the dragon soared into the distance once more.
They traversed at a low altitude, their presence and power sending waves of fear through the hearts of the local wildlife and passing travelers, some of whom were so terrified they nearly lost control of their bladders.
But as the people below saw a lone human seated atop the colossal black dragon's neck, they could only stare in awe and disbelief.
"Eragon! Eragon! Eragon!" The name of the Legendary Lord of Dawn, William Blackleaf, who had become a Dragon Knight, spread like wildfire throughout the southern region, known by countless forces and kingdoms.
Having spent most of the day riding Sacario, William had journeyed to the Heiyan Principality, the Emerald Principality, and even the airspace of the Lion Kingdom. There, he encountered a group of Griffin cavalry.
After William's departure on the Twilight Dragon, a dozen Griffin cavalry descended from the sky, their faces frozen in shock.
They were utterly dumbfounded!
This incredible display of power had resulted from Prince William's control of the Twilight Dragon without even intentionally releasing its full might.
It had to be acknowledged that many forces and Professionals in the southern region couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy.
The bitterness they tasted was more potent than citric acid.
In their eyes, what dignity did Dawn City have left?
Wasn't Dawn City's reputation built on the might of the Dragon Blood Legion?
Yet, William had earned the favor of a dragon and become a Dragon Knight. It was truly a unique achievement.
Moreover, this massive dragon with obsidian scales was no ordinary Black Dragon. It was a Fire Thunder Dual-Attribute Dragon.
The discrepancy was staggering.
People spoke of those who had accomplished more, whose accomplishments far surpassed those of others. To become a Dragon Knight was no small feat. In fact, it
was often more difficult to subdue a dragon than to slay one.
And obtaining the offspring of a dragon was an even greater challenge. Legendary dragons fiercely protected their young, making it near impossible for adventurer teams to acquire them.
William, however, had subdued Xiaohei in his own unique way. From the moment of his birth, Prince William had employed soul control, though even then, taming Xiaohei had been an arduous process. It took a beating, a reward of red dates, and the consumption of Blood Dragon Crystal before the dragon truly accepted him.
It should be noted that riding the Dragon Tooth Platform alone was insufficient to transform into a Dragon Knight. Dragons possessed a soul inheritance, which caused them to view humans as inferior creatures from birth. If they did not acknowledge you, you would never become a Dragon Knight in your lifetime.
Their stubbornness was more than mere words; it was a deeply ingrained characteristic.
The Human Empire had its own share of Dragon Knights, though their numbers were few. There might even be a Dragon Knight Legion in the Western Continent of the Human Empire.
However, most of the Dragon Knights' mounts were benevolent Metal Dragons, with limited combat capabilities compared to the Golden and Silver Dragons. But in any case, William's ascension to Dragon Knight was a momentous event that sent shockwaves throughout the southern region.
In a land bereft of the Human Empire, Dawn City stood as a rare beacon of extraordinary events, with each passing year revealing new and astonishing feats.
Meanwhile, William made a momentous announcement that Dawn City would be home to a magical tower.
The news quickly reached the ears of legal Professionals throughout the southern region. They couldn't contain their excitement.
The southern region had very few Archmages, mostly concentrated in kingdom forces and the four major races (Elves, Dwarves, Half-Elves), with few residing in neutral territories. Dawn City's generous treatment and minimal restrictions on legal Professionals prompted many to consider embarking on a pilgrimage to this burgeoning city.
In the mystical realm of the Continent, Dharma Sages were revered, but not every legal Professional had the privilege of encountering divine beings. Instead, the title of a Grand Enchanter was the aspiration of many legal practitioners, and William couldn't help but wonder if a mage would come to seek refuge in his city.
Considering the growing reputation of Dawn City, there was a possibility that a mage might arrive sooner or later. However, as the city's reputation soared, William had already departed from Dawn City with Xiyan, flying towards the hidden City of the Sky above the sea of clouds, guided by a beam of celestial light.
He yearned to witness once more the ethereal Feather World, inhabited by tens of millions of angels. Angels were the evolved form of the feathered race, and the contrast between the two was striking. One dwelled in the heavens above, while the other resided on the earthly plane.
