Chapter 415: Becoming Legendary
William strolled through the bustling streets of Dawn City, attracting the attention of some curious players who followed him, hoping to join him on an adventure.
These players couldn't understand why he had returned to Dawn City without hosting the son of the choice contest. After all, his Royal Highness Prince had not yet had the opportunity to try his luck against the Legendary dragon, so why was he entertaining these players?
Ignoring the whispers of the players, William hurriedly made his way to the divination shop. Upon entering, he promptly locked the door behind him, prompting more gossip among the onlookers.
It had long been noticed by players that William frequented the divination shop in all three versions of the game, often locking the door behind him.
"William seems to visit quite often. It's hard to tell who's pursuing who," one player commented.
"Come on, you all say that he's not even an adult yet," another player chimed in.
The little black cat on the table barely stirred as William entered. It lazily opened one eye, stretched its limbs, and continued to nap.
William paid no attention to the cat, instead, he headed to the back of the shop, entering Moses's study and laboratory.
Upon entering, his gaze was immediately drawn to the blood dragon crystal, "Dragon Crystal," displayed on the jewelry rack. There were several other dragon crystals nearby, totaling eight, seemingly arranged in a specific pattern or array.
As he continued to explore the room, he noticed something peculiar, the otherworldly space here was expanding. Where there was once only a thousand square meters, it had now expanded to at least three to five thousand square meters. Even more astonishing was the density of magic, which was over ten times higher than the outside world.
"Could Moses be on the verge of becoming a legend?" William wondered.
The Blood Moon Dark Witch, now wearing a white magic robe and revealing her true form, greeted him, "Your Highness, the host asked me to leave a letter for you."
"Where has she gone?" His Royal Highness inquired, surprised by Moses's absence.
With a sly smile, the Blood Moon Dark Witch replied, "I do not know the master's whereabouts. I only know that she intends to step into the next realm and will be away for some time. The letter is meant to clarify any questions you might have."
William couldn't help but admire her figure as he looked her up and down. The magic robe concealed her allure, but it was clear that she possessed an enchanting physique. He silently mused about what it would be like if she were to remove the robe, but quickly dismissed such thoughts.
He didn't voice any of these musings and swiftly left the room without further interaction with the Blood Moon Dark Witch.
Once he was alone, he opened the envelope and found a ring inside. His gaze fell on the space ring, which contained numerous space teleportation scrolls, including two purple ones that appeared to be fixed-point teleportation scrolls.
"Well, isn't this convenient? Moses has really thought of everything," William muttered to himself. After leaving the room, he took a seat in the boss chair of the divination shop and began to read the letter.
"William, I am on the verge of becoming a great demon mentor, but the method and difficulty of my breakthrough will cause a considerable disturbance and attract attention. Therefore, I will be leaving the realms of the gods for a while. Please do not worry.
If you seek the 'Thunder and Soul,' you can use one of the purple space teleportation scrolls, and it will take you directly to your destination. However, exercise caution.
The place is known as the Thunder Realm, or more aptly, Thunder Bound. It is the realm of Thunder God , the birthplace of Thunder God , the Thunder God. Some have ventured into it seeking the heritage and relics left behind by Thunder God , but most have perished.
Your mission is to achieve your breakthrough in the realm, enter swiftly, and return promptly. Do not linger there.
Stay safe."
- Moses
Reading the letter, William felt a surge of warmth. The letter contained not only instructions but also Moses's concern for his well-being. It was evident that Moses wanted him to be safe and not to worry about her.
Placing the letter back in its envelope, William stowed it in the space ring. It dawned on him that not even the Elven Queen, who was revered as a Sage, knew of the Thunder Realm's existence. This enigmatic Thunder Realm, the birthplace of the Thunder God, was shrouded in mystery, and only Moses had the knowledge and means to access it.
Moses had emphasized the need for caution during his mission, reassuring William that as long as he did not take unnecessary risks, he should be fine. William couldn't help but wonder if Moses had factored in a bit of luck in his calculations.
"The Thunder Realm… Thunder Spirit…" William pondered, delving into the lore of the gods.
"Could it be that the Thunder Realm is not just Thunder God's domain, but an embodiment of the Thunder element? Are the gods, in essence, the children of heaven and earth, operating as custodians of the natural order and taking on a physical form?"
He contemplated further, "In the ancient mythological era, when the gods ruled the world, all races, including Elves, humans, and others, were subservient to them. Even the dragons were their servants. Could it be that the gods are the manifestations of the natural laws, granted form and power?"
Deep in thought, William reached up to pluck a hair from his head. He quickly abandoned the idea, realizing that overthinking could lead to premature baldness.
"I'm still young, not yet an adult. I shouldn't overexert my brain. It wouldn't do to go bald before middle age," he quipped, reaching out to pat the black cat on the table. When the cat didn't respond, he pushed open the door and left the room.
…
"Should I go now?" William held the purple fixed-point space teleportation scroll, hesitating for a moment. He then placed a small bottle containing ten drops of Water of Life in his mouth and crushed the scroll.
In the next instant, his body twisted and contorted as if he were entering a space-time tunnel, surrounded by pitch darkness.
Time seemed to blur as he traveled through the void.
When he finally opened his eyes, he found himself in a thunderous maelstrom.
A surge of electrifying energy coursed through his body as he stood amidst the tempest.
With a clang, the teleportation was complete, and his body continued to react uncontrollably.
William paid little attention to his physical state; instead, he focused on his surroundings.
He couldn't discern the nature of this space within the Thunder Realm. It felt as if he were floating in mid-air, but there was no up or down. Every inch of space crackled with lightning, and the density of thunder elements here exceeded that of the entire realm of the gods.
"Could Moses be on the brink of achieving Legendary status?" William wondered aloud.
He was not in the area where the Thunder was at its peak.
In front of him, approximately 100000 meters away, lay an immense expanse of thunder element that resembled an endless ocean. The view was so vast that it seemed to stretch into infinity.
Within this thunderous sea, lightning bolts danced with life, coursing through the thunderous depths as if they possessed a soul.
"Is that the power of thunder?" William inhaled deeply, sensing the raw might of these lightning bolts, each one exuding the presence and strength of an Epic Level powerhouse.
He dared not approach.
Yet, these thunderbolts showed no sign of leaving the thunderous ocean.
Moreover, the advanced coolness in his surroundings grew even more pronounced, leaving him with little time to ponder the distant thunder sea.
William began to notice gradual changes within his own body.
There was no pain akin to breaking through the ranks, only a sensation of burgeoning power.
It was as if he were turning into lightning itself. His skin, bones, hair, and nearly every part of his body yearned to transform into Thunder.
This was the Elemental Body.
It was one of the super trump cards possessed by Epic Level powerhouses.
Upon reaching the epic level, every profession acquired its unique Elemental Body.
With the Elemental Body, epic powerhouses not only gained the ability to harness elemental power with ease but also minimized their vulnerabilities. Injuries to limbs, body, and most parts of the body could be rapidly healed.
However, Elemental Bodies varied in strength, with the Elemental Body only mitigating, rather than eliminating, fatal vulnerabilities.
In other words, for epic and Legendary powerhouses, targeting their heads remained a viable means to defeat them, although it was no longer as straightforward as before.
Epic powerhouses could only attain the Elementary Elemental Body.
Legendary powerhouses possessed the Intermediate Elemental Body.
It was only at the Sage Level that one could achieve the Perfect Elemental Body, characterized by an absence of any fatal weaknesses. Even strikes to the head or heart would no longer be lethal.
As for transcending the Sage Level, like becoming a god, William remained unsure of their actual power. In his previous life, he had only reached the Legendary level before meeting an unfortunate end, not to the hands of Legendary ruffians, but through other circumstances.
As for beings even mightier than Sages, such as the Gods of Light, the Goddess of Luck, and the Goddess of Doom, those who held the status of Main Deities, William could only speculate about their true power.
What he did know was that individuals bearing the divine title, such as the Pope of the Temple of Light, were unlikely to be weaker than the Main Deities.
As for the Pope's strength?
Well…
He recalled a statement the Pope had made in his past life.
"I, Pope Bright, alone, can wipe out hundreds of you."
Indeed, that was how he had addressed all the Sages on the continents of the gods.
The players had been utterly astonished by his declaration.
Henceforth, the Pontiff of Light had been affectionately dubbed by most players as the "Force King."
However, William swiftly abandoned his speculative thoughts, as he felt his body gradually undergoing elemental transformation.
Some areas of his body's surface took on a transparent, azure hue.
The Thunder element within him was surging relentlessly, even his Holy Spirit Magic experienced a profound transformation.
His message inbox was continuously filling up, but William ignored it, choosing to wait patiently.
One hour?
Two hours?
Or perhaps a day?
At that moment, he had utterly lost track of time.
He couldn't discern how much time had passed.
Then, in the next instant, all he could sense was the deafening roar of thunder.
William's body became enveloped in thunder and lightning, resembling a vivid blue flame, while his power continued to escalate.
After three seconds.
His eyes involuntarily unleashed twin bolts of electricity, spanning a distance of over 2000 meters. The electrical discharge persisted for a full ten seconds before the energy emission ceased entirely.
