Chereads / Poisonous Master / Chapter 8 - (8)

Chapter 8 - (8)

"Hey, you are called to the living room."

A sarcastic voice echoed from the door, just hearing those words, I knew already that the game had finally begun!

"Sure, I will be there in a minute."

"Better make it faster, that is if you don't wish for something you can't afford to accept, kekek."

Maui, oh Maui. For sure you are thinking that the pest will finally be removed from your house. Though I can't deny that you will be right from that judgment, a certain flower won't just remain still.

Cause from this point on, our life will be quite an interesting one. Well, I should say your life will be, not mine.

Leaving that aside, I pick a white cloth, wrap the Sprite and hide it inside my clothes.

"I don't need to worry that I will destroy the sprite as it has a protective barrier around it."

Now, shall I play my part?

Rhett Shiva, "Tell us, kid, are you qualified to remain in this house?"

From that tone of his voice, I guess he must have heard what had happened from the awakening ceremony. Or perhaps, someone invoked some words that you will never know if half of that was the truth, or everything was a falsehood.

"We aren't here this afternoon as we have a business to attend, but to think what welcomed us was your not-so-good performance. Is this some kind of joke?"

Maui wasn't even hiding his emotion that he had done what he had long wanted. The look on Aunty Cora wasn't that much different. Now, they are acting like a stranger.

"It must be hard to believe but what you have heard was the truth. I tried my best to achieve the expectations and repay this house with my life. Even if my mind has been set yet body didn't. I can't change that."

"Hmm, is it really because of your body?"

"Yes, I have done my best but I still failed. I'm sorry, uncle."

Maui Shiva, 'This... This bastard! When did he learn to use sympathy on himself, is it because of that smart ass he had? Damn, I can't let his wickedness remain further in this house. I was the the child, and will be the future head of this house.'

Go and do your best, little brother. I would love to see you struggle before I leave.

Rhett Shiva, "If that is the case -"

Maui Shiva, "D-Dad!"

"Hmm?"

"You aren't planning to just accept his talent, right? You know that it's hard to gather resources now that the most blizzard months of snow will fall. Are you planning on starving just to supply that bastard some spare?"

With a glare at his child he said, "Watch your mouth Maui, He is still your brother no matter what."

"What do you mean brother? I was the only child in this house. Now that I have an A-level talent, why do we still need that useless bastard?"

"This is -"

Cora Shiva, "Darling, your son was right. Not that Maui entered the sect, he needed more resources than anything. We shouldn't waste any more money on someone. And as for you..."

She moved and stepped in front of me.

"A useless beggar like you has no space for this house to rest. Do you understand?"

"But Aunty, if I leave I will die from the harsh environment outside."

Slap!

"I said, do you understand?"

"I can't just leave -"

Slap!

"another wrong move and I will make sure to fully shut your mouth."

"Even so, you can't just -"

Slap! Slap! Slap!

From these slaps, I felt a tingling of some weird emotions swirling in my belly.

This should be enough to back down now that I let them release some of their stress.

Rhett Shiva, "Darling, Stop that. You will kill the child."

"But I needed to let him know how to properly speak so that he won't be in trouble."

"I know, but at this point, you will kill him. You know the consequences of killing an awakened youth who was tasked to enter the sect after a week, don't you?"

In the Snow-Purple Snake Clan, some rules should be applied. One of them was to not kill anyone who just happened to successfully pass the awakening ceremony. If anyone didn't comply with these regulations, they would be decapitated in front of the whole clan.

Remembering these rules, Cora freezes from fear.

Cora Shiva, "Fine, but don't think you get lucky."

Yeah, I can't be any luckier than anyone. Because those regulations will be nullified once the three-year training is done.

But was long enough time to change who I currently am.

Maui Shiva, "Now Dad, make a choice. Throw him, or throw me."

Oh, that was a good way to ask someone, huh? To think there would be a time I will hear those words coming from you.

But you already know the answer, so why even ask that question?

Rhett Shiva, "Penny, I know it hard to accept this but I shall give up on raising you. You know that right?"

"Yeah, I know."

"Thank you for understanding."

I know that you have been faking the kindness you show. Why even bother to act like this? If you have just said that I wasn't needed in this house, then I will not bother and just leave.

"Now, if you want to take some things with you. You are free to take them."

Sigh, till the end, only sarcasm was spoken out just to throw me away.

"Nah, don't bother. I should leave already. If not, that wife of yours will surely kill me this time."

"What did you say? Hey come back here and I will surely make your wish come true. You useless beggar-like kid..."

Hehe, at least for the last time, I got to see that bitch explode in anger. This ain't that bad, I guess.

The path is long for those who want to achieve change like Penny. But the current path he was taking was full of blizzard wind that seemed to pour every snow it accumulated from the sky.

Achoo!

Yet, he looks like a child who was playing in the accumulated snow.

A mesmerising sight befell his age.
