Chapter 158 - Troubles Resolved

"Is this my house?" Tory staggered in Devon's arms as he helped her reach home.

Dash walked closely, ready to react if she needed assistance on the way, fortunately, she didn't. While taking her home, Dash realized that not everyone has the best living conditions and became aware of the luck he had. Not everyone had the money to focus solely on training; some kids his age worked during vacations. It made him more conscious of the fortune of being born into a family with good resources.

"Will you take her inside?" Dash asked, observing Devon advancing with Tory, who seemed more asleep than awake.

Devon looked at Dash and asked with some confusion, "What do you mean? I have to take her; in the end, she got drunk because of me."

"Well..." Dash followed Devon until a man appeared on the second floor of the apartment building.

"Do you know if she lives there?"

The man looked at Tory, smiled faintly, and said, "Yes, she lives there... By the way, when are you going to pay the rent? You've missed the payment date, so I'm forced to ask."

Dash took a step forward and said, "She's a bit intoxicated; the party was crazy. Can't you ask her at a more convenient time?"

"Who the hell are you, you damn brat? Ah, the girl's boyfriend?" The man pointed at Tory, who was being carried by Devon, and grinned perversely.

Dash looked at Devon, and she nodded when their eyes met. He continued walking without looking back, and by the time they disappeared from view, Dash looked at the man who seemed to be the epitome of a misogynist and asked, "Do you have a problem you'd like to share?"

The man mocked and approached Dash threateningly. "Will you do something about it if I have a problem? Does she have anything to do with you?"

"Since you've partaken of my cake, you should try something new..." The man's gaze shifted to Devon, and at that moment, Dash's blood boiled like hot water.

Looking at the man in front of him, Dash slightly leaned his body and hit the man's ribs. As soon as he bent, Dash smashed his nose with his forehead.

Crack!

"Ahhh!"

The man's scream echoed, and when he tried to lift his gaze to hit Dash, he was met with a series of quick punches that soon left him on the ground.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

"Enough, wait, don't hit me anymore!"

Just when Dash thought it wasn't enough, Devon appeared by his side and said, "It's enough, don't cause us more problems than we already have here."

Dash looked at Devon for a few brief seconds, then sighed and looked at the man on the ground. "Hey, idiot, when is this girl's rent due?"

"Go to hell!"

Devon frowned and walked over the man's hand, squeezing it tightly, and asked, "You're being asked a damn question; answer it if you want us to keep being polite."

"Just 1,600 dollars..." The man said, trying to check if his nose wasn't broken.

Dash looked at this pitiful guy and reached into his bag to pull out his wallet. Despite not having much cash, he took out all he had, roughly aware of the money he had on him, and put it in the man's hand, still checking his nose.

"Here's nine thousand dollars; consider it six months' rent for the family of that girl. Remember to forget this little incident we had." Dash leaned toward the man and warned, "If I find out you're collecting rent for the next six months, we'll come, and we'll break your bones."

The man on the ground really didn't want trouble, so he said, "Everything will be fine, there won't be a problem..."

Without hesitation, Dash hit the man, although it was wrong, he couldn't help it because he was an idiot.

"Come on, let's get out of here." Devon said, taking Dash's hand as if there was more control on her part by doing so.

Devon remembered how Dash was, and she knew there was only one reason for him to fight someone else. So she said nothing. He was a good boyfriend, but these fights were the ones that should be avoided.

Dash, who walked to the car, returned to normal, but he still complained, "The world is full of idiots..."

Devon raised her eyebrows, then got into the car while her mind was in turmoil.

Every detail of Dash's behavior went through her mind, and she said, "But that doesn't give you the right to hit every idiot who gets into your life."

Unwilling to stay in this place any longer, Dash started the car, stepped on the accelerator, and said, "But that's something that can't be avoided at times."

"Let's avoid this more..." Devon muttered, worried because, as Dash always says, weapons exist, so they must approach life more calmly.
