Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: World Government

After fully equipped, the trio continued their search for the greener pastures.

Right now they were very confident in their abilities if anything were to happen.

With the armors on, they noticed the go walk longer distance without feeling tired and even when running, their speed greatly increased.

"We spent a lot of time getting these equipments and it's almost sunset. I suggest we rest here for tonight." Zeke said.

"Yeah, that's a good idea." Ace added.

They prepared a small campfire and Ace prepared a little soup for dinner. The utensils was gotten from the shop and also with the necessary ingredients needed.

Some hours past and it was completely dark and the moon shone ever so brightly. Ace finished preparing dinner and Lloyd and Zeke enjoyed the soup.

Under the moonlit sky, the trio savored the fruits of their efforts, enjoying a hearty soup by the campfire. The satisfaction of a well-prepared meal echoed in Lloyd's words, "Ahh. There's nothing like a delicious soup for dinner."

Ace slightly smiled at Lloyd's compliment, the smile didn't escape Zeke's notice.

"Where'd you learn how to cook like that." Zeke asked Ace.

Ace shared with a nostalgic smile, "My mom taught me how to cook before the apocalypse. She always said good food brings comfort even in challenging times."

"She was right about that." Zeke added.

Instant Huts were set for the night, Lloyd offered to be the first to watch for a while, while the others got some sleep.

The others agreed and got to sleep because tomorrow was going to be a long and stressful day for them.

An hour has passed and only a few zombies came towards them today. Of course Lloyd didn't bother to disturb the others about such small fries. He and the Warrior Skeleton were easily able to make quick work of them.

*SNAP* Lloyd attention was instantly turned towards the direction of the sound.

Different thought ran through his head that instant.

'Is it maybe another Titan Zombie, should I wake the others, but I didn't hear any growls.' A series of thought ran through Lloyd's head.

While he was still contemplating on what to do, a humanoid figure emerged from the shadows of the night. To his greatest surprise, it was another human.

Although Lloyd was very excited to see another human, he didn't drop his guard.

Lloyd point his sword at the person who just wondered in.

"You've got five minutes to start talking." Lloyd's voice was being deepened by the mask from the armor he wore which made it alot deeper.

The person who came was also wearing a set of equipment. His face was completely closed leaving only his eyes. The equipment he was was colored Dark Blue.

"Give me one good reason to provide an answer to you." The person said.

"Three minutes." Lloyd said.

"Make it two reasons now." The person said.

Lloyd summoned the Warrior Skeleton to his side. As soon as the person saw the Skeleton Warrior, he dashed at Lloyd with a dagger in his hand, covering the distance between them in a matter of seconds.

Lloyd was fast to react, he quickly blocked the incoming attack with his sword. The two had a contest of strength as none of them was willing to give the other the upper hand.

"So you're one of them, aren't you?" The person asked.

Behind the mask was a confused looked on Lloyd face. "What the hell are you talking about?" He asked.

Nothing caring for an answer, Lloyd ordered the Skeleton Warrior to attack the intruder.

The Skeleton Warrior lept up and tried slashing the exposed are behind the person's neck but the blade was stopped.

A wooden doll wearing some pieces of equipment holding a sword, A Puppet to be precise stopped the Warrior Skeleton's attack. The puppet was two feets taller than the Warrior Skeleton.

Seeing his initial attack failed, Lloyd jumped backwards creating some distance between him and the intruder. The Warrior Skeleton also retreated back to Lloyd's side.

"Who are you?" Lloyd asked. "You have one minute."

"Are you one of them." The person asked.

Lloyd had a puzzled look on his face 'Again with that.' Lloyd initially planned on questioning the person, but that plan was thrown out the window, because the person attacked him and looked like he was ready to put up a good fight.

"Wrong answer." Lloyd shouted. "WAKE UP."

Zeke and Ace, immediately came out from their huts after hearing the urgency in Lloyd's voice. None of them asked questions as they could already read the situation.

The sprinted into action. Now the intruder was in the middle and the trio formed a triangle around him.

"Do you plan on answering me now?" Lloyd asked.

This time the intruder remained quiet. A bluish gray portal appeared besides the person, similar to that of Lloyd when summoning the skeleton. Another wooden puppet came out from the portal.

Unlike the other puppet, this one was as big as an adult, had four arms which was filled with Iron Swords and was fully equipped in a plain silver armor.

"I guess not then." Lloyd said in a slight tone of disappointment.

He summoned the zombie titan also known as Tank to his side.

"I suggest you start talking. It's gonna be a lot better if you do so." Zeke added.

The flames from Ace's legs and the flames from the campfire made the place a lot brighter. The person observed the armor they wore. His eyes landed on Ace and his reaction changed.

"Ace." The person called out sounding surprised.

Ace was startled by the sudden change of events.

"How'd you know my name." Ace asked.

The person didn't respond. The two puppets standing besides him were recalled back into the bluish gray portal. He placed his hand on his head and slowly he took off his helmet.

"Chris." Ace exclaimed surprised.

"Hell no. What are you doing here Chris." Lloyd asked as he removed his mask.

Some minutes passed and they could be seen sitting close to the fireplace, discussing.

"So you're saying that more than two settlements already exists." Lloyd asked.

"Yeah, one of them is lead by someone they call Valkyrie and the other is called The World Government." Chris said. "The leaders are called The Elders, although they are not actually old people, they have powers beyond your imagination."

"Don't tell they have a childish dream of world domination." Ace said.

"Nah, that would be too childish of them. They plan on being the law enforcers of this world. From what I heard they already have over eight other settlements across different locations. And crossing paths with the Elders would be a death sentence for anyone. Rumors have it the six Elder killed a Dragon that invaded their settlement, although it was wounded, it was still hella strong."

"Dragons, those things actually exist in this world." Lloyd asked surprised.

"Yes, they do. And if there power level were to be measured. They would probably be at least level hundred and above." Chris added.

That last statement kept repeating in their heads like a song.

"I once crosses paths with one of their members, Sin." Chris said.

Their eyes opened in surprise, because to them it wasn't even possible. Sin was the son of a notorious big time gangster so how the hell was he able to join a law enforcement agency.

"He isn't the same Sin as before, he's way more powerful than before." Chris added.

"You say you fought against right?" Lloyd asked.

"Yes I did." Chris answered.

"Did you win?"

"I didn't win, but I didn't lose either." Chris said.

"When you said one of them, what did you mean?" Lloyd asked.

"Rumors has it that there are a group of people called Enlightened, according to what I heard the master they serve is an intelligent monster called The Bone. It is said that The Bone grants his servants a special ring that allows them to summon a single skeleton." Chris said.

"It's only been a week since we got to this place and all this things are happening." Zeke said bewildered.
