Lloyd was forcefully woken by the sharp pain he felt on his right hand.
"Ouchh." Lloyd screamed.
When he opened his eyes, he saw his hands were bleeding from the bite mark imprinted on it. He looked at the pup who just sat on the bed looking at him.
"What was that for?" Lloyd asked.
Although he wasn't expecting any response, he just asked for asking sake. "Is this an act of revenge."
Like before the pup just kept staring at Lloyd. Lloyd smiled at it before picking it up and placed it on his chest. "Nah, you must probably be hungry, that's why you bit me.
Lloyd bought half a kilogram of raw meat from the system store and fed it to the pup. Unsurprisingly the pup ate it all and still looked like it could eat more
"You really were hungry." Lloyd laughed.
*RUFF*
"Do you understand what I'm saying." Lloyd asked.
*RUFF*
"So you understood what I've been saying that whole time." Lloyd said surprised.
This time the pup didn't respond instead it just laid down on Lloyd's chest.
"I think it's time I come up with a name for you. " Lloyd said.
It lifted it's head all started huffing as if it was eager to also get a name.
"I'll call random names and if you like any of the names you bark once. Got it." Lloyd said.
*RUFF*
"Good boy. So how bout Brown."
"Fred."
"Sammy."
"Nijal."
"Scar."
"Nox."
*RUFF*
"You like Nox." Lloyd asked.
*RUFF*
"That settles it, your name is Nox." Lloyd said.
Just then loud knocks came from Lloyd's door.
"Don't tell me you're still asleep, Lloyd" Ace yells resounded throughout the entire room.
"Not really." Lloyd replied. "I'll be there in twenty minutes."
Some minutes past and Lloyd was still not ready.
"If he doesn't come out right now I'm gonna break down this door." Zeke grumbled.
Just then, the door opened and Lloyd walked out with Nox on top of his head.
"You do know that, that's not a domestic animal." Ace said pointing at Nox.
"Firstly, he name is not 'IT' he's name is Nox. Secondly, I know he's not a domestic animal, but still I'm gonna keep him." Lloyd said.
"Well, he's your responsibility now," Ace said. "And also, we were planning on doing something exploring on the city and also get our weapons back." Ace said.
"Well we'll have to look for food first, I'm starving." Lloyd said. "Do you know any food center, Chris."
"Nah, this my second time coming here and I didn't really do much exploring the first time I came." Chris replied.
They decided they were just going to move around aimlessly while hoping they don't get lost.
Making their way down stairs, they found out that the person who attended to them the night before was not there anymore and in her place was a man.
"Good day Sirs, I would like to know if you checking out from the hotel." The man asked.
The exchanged looks with one another be Chris said "We might return, later but it's not a guarantee."
"Noted sir, do try coming again." He said.
Lloyd, Ace and Zeke looked a confused looked plastered on their face.
"What do you mean 'Might', where else are we gonna spend the night if not here." Lloyd asked.
"If you go see, Valkyrie and she has a good impression about you, she might give you guys a better place to stay as long as you're here." Chris said.
After that, there weren't much to talk about, so they left the hotel, looking for a place to eat they stumbled upon the person who attended to them last night.
"Oh, hello." She said.
"Hey." Lloyd said. " Good thing we bumped into you, or it would have been really stressful for us."
"What do you mean?" She tilted her eyebrows slightly.
"Well you as you can tell, my friends and I are new in town." Lloyd said.
"Yeah, I figured."
"I was wondering if you could place show us around the city, if you don't mind?" Lloyd asked.
"I don't see a problem with that." She said. "So where do you guys wanna go first."
"A place to grab some to eat, I'm starving." Lloyd said." By the way I'm Lloyd, this is Zeke, Ace and Chris.
"I'm Mikayla, nice meeting you and who's the little guy." She said pointing at Lloyd's head.
"Oh, that's Nox." Lloyd responded.
The others behind Lloyd didn't really pay much attention towards Lloyd's conversation with Mikayla, they just ran their eyes through the city.
'This people really take their security seriously here.' Ace thought.
There were mean in similar armors with the gaurds of last night, in almost every corner of the city.
Mikayla, was a young lady who had just graduated from college before the apocalypse, she was only twenty four years old. She had long silky black hair that reached her elbow, emerald green eyes, a slightly pointed nose and a curved face. She also had a slender waist
Mikayla was a lady of average beauty, that most men had an eye on.
"So where do we go get the food." Zeke said.
"Oh, I forgot about that." Mikayla said.
She then took them, to a bar filled with a lot of people all eating, drink and being merry.
And almost every one here wore at least two pieces of equipment and also had their weapons with them.
"Aren't they supposed to have their weapons confiscated?" Zeke asked.
"Well, they have the permit from the City Lady and they're also hunters." Mikayla explained.
"What do you mean by hunters?" Ace inquired.
"Well you see, hunters are people who go outside the walls to either hunt, find materials for the city or explore for other Safe Zones." Mikayla said.
Some minutes after a elderly looking lady approached them and handed out a hand written menu to them "Let me know when you see what you want." She said then walk away to attend to other people.
They took a table that was free and sat there. After analysing the menu, they each selected the meal they wished for.
When the menu was handed to Mikayla, she refused saying that she was just a guide but after much persuasion from Lloyd and his friends she gave in.
Shortly after the woman came in and collect their requests. From time to time Zeke would look at the person at the table next to them. For some reason, only a person wearing a darkish brown cloak sat on it and Zeke had an uneasy feeling about the person.
