It's night time at school and the once busy bustling streets were now empty with a handful of people. The sliver full moon hanging in the lonely sky bringing warmth to the cold night.

"I'm still a long way from breaking through to Diabolic"

Kai mused

Achieving Diabolic rank for curse users required pushing all physical attributes to around 30, a daunting task. Without proper training and equipment, reaching such heights remained a formidable challenge, even for those with high potential ranks.

As Kai pondered the daunting challenge that lay ahead, a chuckle escaped his lips, and he clenched his fist with determination. "The harder it is, the more fun it's gonna be," he declared with a grin, embracing the challenge that awaited him.

However, his train of thought was abruptly interrupted by the sound of a male voice cutting through the night. "Looks like someone found my hiding spot," the voice declared from the shadows.

Turning to face the source of the interruption, Kai's gaze fell upon the familiar figure of Isaiah. "Oh God no" Kai muttered before turning his face in disappointment back to the night sky.

"Okay... That was offensive "  Isaiah Says jokingly before sitting next to Kai. Kai shot him a sideways glance, his expression clearly conveying his desire for solitude. Yet Isaiah's bright smile remained unfazed, indicating his intention to stay put.

With a resigned sigh, Kai silently conceded defeat, choosing to ignore Isaiah's playful banter as he shifted his focus elsewhere.

They both sat there in silence, lost in their thoughts until eventually Isaiah spoke up "You know, Damian wasn't behind those guys coming after you," Isaiah disclosed, his voice soft with sincerity.

Kai absorbed the statement before responding, "I'm aware. He's not that stupid ."

"Huh?, if you knew then why did you confront him? " Isaiah inquired, his curiosity evident

Kai was in no mood to explain to Isaiah his mental state at that time like he did with Michael "It's complicated, why are you defending him? "

Isaiah hesitated for a moment before answering " We are friends."

"Hah, with friends like that who needs enemies" Kai scoffed

"You're one to talk. Everyone either hates you or is scared of you," Isaiah retorted.

"Well, forgive me for not caring. Not everyone is a golden boy like you," Kai shot back.

"Golden boy? At least I don't call myself 'Absolutely nothing'," Isaiah countered, a smirk playing on his lips, a reference that Kai couldn't help but recall, his palm meeting his face in remembrance  of the moment.

"That was embarrassing, by the wa--"

"I'm well aware!!" Kai interrupted, not letting him dwell on the moment any longer, this little act made Isaiah burst into laughter, completely disregarding the death glare he was receiving.

"he is going to regret this," Kai thought to himself, observing Isaiah slowly regain his composure and once again silence reigned, each of them seemed to be lost in their own thoughts

However Breaking the silence was Kai's voice. "I meant what I said that day," he declared, his tone resolute. "When I get stronger, I AM coming after you... I want what you have."

Turning his gaze from the night sky to meet Isaiah's eyes, Kai's expression hardened. "I want to be number one."

"Oh?" Isaiah's eyes ignited, glowing with an intense blue light that surpassed any Gifted individual Kai had ever encountered. The brilliance of Isaiah's gaze sent a shiver down Kai's spine

With a wide bright smile Isaiah replied

" Can't wait"

As Kai made his way back to the school dorms, all he wanted was to collapse into bed for a nap. Dealing with Rebecca and Isaiah had left him completely drained. Normally, Kai exudes confidence and a bit of arrogance, but who could blame him? With Azrael by his side and the potential to become a Fallen, he felt pretty powerful.

But whenever Isaiah was around, Kai couldn't shake the feeling of being slightly inferior. They'd never even fought, but Kai always had this unsettling sense that if they did, he might end up on the losing end, or even worse, dead.

Isaiah belonged to the Salvatore lineage, one of the esteemed five great families. However, over the years, the Salvatores had been gradually losing their standing. This decline stemmed from their consistent failure to produce a child capable of Awakening "God's Eyes," their innate and exceedingly rare gift. However all that changed when Isaiah was born, but this is a story for another day.

As Kai entered the room, Michael's voice cut through the air. "Where were you, Kai?"

"Huh? Since when did you become my mom?" Kai quipped, raising an eyebrow.

"Just... Answer," Michael replied, his expression serious.

Kai couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. "Michael is never this serious. What's going on?" he wondered.

"Well, I went for a walk around school, grabbed some lunch, wandered a bit more, and then I came back," Kai responded.

"Is that all?" Michael pressed.

"Okay, this is getting weird," Kai thought aloud. "Yes, that's all. What's with all the questions?"

"Well, I was just waiting for you to tell me that ..." Michael trailed off as he tapped his watch, revealing a image

The image that greeted kai sent a jolt of panic coursing through his veins. It was an image of Kai and an extremely beautiful silver-haired girl having lunch in a cafe, engaged in an intense conversation.

"YOU WENT ON A DATE WITH REBECCA FUCKING CHRONOA!!!" Michael exploded, his voice filled with disbelief and a hint of outrage.

"What?" Kai horrified expression mirrored his shock
