Chapter 25 - Luck

After the awkward silence, Jian couldn't contain his arrogance.

With a mocking smile, he said, "Well, well, it seems the Senju clan isn't as great as everyone thinks. Or is throwing kunai too simple for the 'real ninjas'?"

Nawaki, his face red with anger, shot back without thinking: "Real ninjas rely on ninjutsu, not just simple kunai!"

Teacher Kuri's face darkened instantly. He had spent the entire night preparing today's lesson to teach the importance of kunai throwing, and now his students openly disrespected him.

Before Kuri could explode, Chen gracefully stood up. "Sensei, may I give it a try?"

As he stood, the girls in the class immediately started whispering excitedly.

"Look at Chen-kun! Isn't he so handsome?" one girl whispered.

"Much better than that arrogant Jian," added another.

"And definitely cooler than Nawaki," chimed in a third, causing giggles among them.

Hearing this, Jian and Nawaki's faces turned dark with frustration.

Jian couldn't hold back his irritation. "Bah! What can this Hyuga clan reject do?"

The insult prompted an immediate reaction. The girls, outraged, stood up ready to defend Chen's honor.

"How dare you!" shouted one, rolling up her sleeves.

"We'll teach you to respect Chen-kun!" threatened another.

Seeing the situation spiraling out of control, Kuri quickly intervened. "Enough! Everyone, back to your seats."

As the girls reluctantly returned to their seats, Kuri couldn't help but feel a pang of envy. 'How does this kid do it?' he thought, recalling his own 20 years of singleness.

Chen, unaware of the chaos he had stirred, picked up a kunai. With a fluid motion, he began spinning it between his fingers, the metal glinting in the sunlight. Everyone held their breath.

In an instant, Chen threw the kunai.

The weapon sliced through the air with a sharp whistle, so fast it was almost invisible.

With a deafening 'crack,' the kunai pierced cleanly through the wooden target and embedded itself deeply in the distant wall.

A stunned silence fell over the training ground.

Kuri felt his throat go dry. 'That throw... the force, the speed... it's impossible for a genin.'

"Incredible..." Mikoto murmured, her eyes shining with admiration.

The other girls erupted in screams of excitement.

"Chen-kun is amazing!"

"I'll be his girlfriend!"

"No, I will!"

Nawaki watched the scene in disbelief. "He can't be that strong...."

Jian, on the other hand, felt as if he had been slapped in the face by an invisible hand.

Kuri, regaining his composure, raised his voice to regain the class's attention. "Enough! Let's get back to the lesson."

He was there to teach the students, not to watch these privileged clan children boast in front of everyone.

The students, still murmuring about Chen's feat, reluctantly returned to practicing kunai throwing.

Kuri watched closely, correcting stances and offering advice, fulfilling his duty as an instructor.

At the end of the class, Kuri said as he dismissed them, "That's all for today. Keep practicing at home."

Chen waved goodbye to Mikoto with a casual gesture and set off alone on his way back to the Hyuga clan.

As he walked, he couldn't help but sigh in boredom. "...when will we learn something truly useful?"

"What I really need is more theoretical knowledge. These basic skills... I master them better than anyone here. But I'm lacking in theory, strategy... real combat experience."

Upon arriving home, Chen went straight to the living room. Without wasting time, he began practicing his hand seal speed.

His fingers moved at a speed imperceptible to the average human eye, forming seals with a precision and swiftness that would have embarrassed even Itachi or Kakashi.

Finishing a seal, a wry smile formed on his face. "Almost thirty years... thirty years of life if you count my previous life. And thirty years of being single."

His hands moved even faster. "I suppose there are certain... skills... that are perfected through solitary practice."

After hours of practice, Chen finally allowed himself a break.

He immersed himself in a hot bath, letting the water relax him.

Satisfied, he collapsed onto his bed. Closing his eyes and concentrating, he suddenly found himself in a completely white space. In the center, a golden roulette wheel shone brightly.

Surrounded by the infinite whiteness of the lottery space, Chen raised his voice with hope.

"System! Could you give me a chance at the lottery? I don't care about the cost, just give it to me!"

Silence was his only response.

Chen sighed, scratching his head thoughtfully. "I wonder... the system surely follows the conservation of energy, right? If not, why doesn't it assign me simple tasks and reward me?"

To his surprise, a panel appeared floating in front of him.

[The existence of the system cannot be comprehended by the host at this time.

🛑This system does not follow the conservation of energy.🛑

Do not use science to measure the system.]

Chen blinked, stunned. "Oh! So it doesn't follow the conservation of energy." He murmured, scratching his head again.

After a moment of reflection, he shrugged, giving up his attempt to understand the system's logic.

With a mischievous smile, Chen decided to try his luck. "Hey, since the system responded this time, this deserves a little reward! Don't you think?"

A few seconds passed without a response. Chen didn't think much of it, used to the system's silences.

However, suddenly, a notification appeared:

[🎁 The system grants three chances for a draw. 🎁

💰 The system grants 100,000 coins. 💰]

Chen's eyes widened, his jaw dropping in shock. "Holy shit! Am I hallucinating?" he exclaimed, rubbing his eyes incredulously.

"I didn't expect the system to actually give me something just for asking. This system is truly impressive."

After recovering from the initial surprise, an idea crossed his mind. "By the way, the system has never formally introduced itself. I don't even know what kind of system it is."

Chen reflected on how he had never questioned the nature of the system before, and how it had never provided him with details about itself. Deciding it wasn't important, he chose to express his gratitude.

"Anyway, thanks, system. If I could, I'd give you 10,000 likes." Chen made a small bow, adding enthusiastically, "You're really the best system I could have asked for. Your generosity knows no bounds."
