Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: One condition

Kaitlin Ceasar, Ashlyn best friend since childhood. She's a bit taller than Ashlyn and few years older but the duo bond could be compared to a set of twins girls. Just like Ashlyn, her tone skin was flawless and her slender legs made anyone drool at first sight. Her blue eyes were like clear ocean water shining brightly and her long blonde hair was neatly styled in a bun.

She was wearing a black baggy shirt with tight skinny jeans that hugged her skin thereby showcasing her perfect lower figure. Seating down comfortably, a smile was playing on her face as Ashlyn took her seat opposite her.

"You came much earlier than I expected. You still have few minutes." Kait said.

Ignoring Kait words, Ashlyn signalled for the waiter and he came. Ordering a bottle of vodka wine, Ashlyn leaned backwards on the chair.

"Are you still mad at me?" Kait asked after being totally ignored.

"You said you had an explanation on why you snitched on me, so I'll like to hear it." Ashlyn said with furrowed brows.

"C'mon baby girl, I didn't snitch on you... Your mum was at my neck. You know your mom better than I do, she pressured me." Kait explained briefly.

"Was that enough reason to tell her I wasn't dating anyone?" Ashlyn said and Kait raised her brows, giving Ashlyn a 'like seriously?' look.

"Okay Fine, I know my mum can be very persuasive...."

"And hard to deal with" Kait interjected.

"... But yet, you should have given her another excuse."

"Like you would have done the same thing if you were in my shoes?"

Their conversation was interrupted by the waiter bringing their orders and leaving. Opening the wine, Ashlyn poured it into the two wine glass on the table and passed one to Kait while taking the other.

"Ash, you know I'm always here for you and I won't have told your mum if not for the pressure so please forgive me." Kait said with pleading eyes.

Gulping down a quantity of her drink, Ashlyn ignored Kait plea again.

"Ash, you know it's not fair. Just forgive me I won't do it again."

Hearing Kait words, Ashlyn knew it was useless to resist. Not that she planned on resisting but she didn't want to fall for her best friend puppy eyes once again and that was why she refrained from making eye contact but if Kait hypnotizing eyes couldn't do the trick then her words will.

Opening her mouth, Ashlyn released her words. "I'll forgive you on one condition."

"One condition?" Kait asked, repeating Ashlyn's last words. Creasing her brows, she observed Ashlyn expression closely trying to figure out something. She knew her friend too well and for Ashlyn to make such statement then she was probably scheming something. What was it? She was trying to figure out.

"Yes, if you'll grant me three wishes whenever I want it then I'll forgive you."

Not expecting Ashlyn words, Kait eyes rolled in surprise as she felt tongue tied. Regaining her composure, "You must be joking right? Am I some kind of a genie? C'mon be serious." Kait said and waited for Ashlyn to tell her it was a joke but instead she met Ashlyn serious gaze and she knew it wasn't a joke.

"Three wishes? Fine, I'll grant it to you as long as you're not going to ask me to kill myself or bring someone back to life or any other impossible thing." Kait finally gave in and couldn't help but think what Ashlyn was scheming when she saw the smile on her face.

"Thanks, I've forgiven you." Ashlyn said with a wide grin on her face and Kait faked being irritated as the two continued their drinking session and conversation.

Meanwhile, at one corner of the bar, dark and away from prying eyes, Vincent was seating down with his legs crossed while sipping his wine slowly.

"I knew I was going to find you here." A man with black eyes, brown hair and 6 feet tall said. Looking at his facial appearance, he'll be in his mid twenties. He had just arrived at the bar and was standing at Vincent side.

"What do you want Ryan?" Vincent asked in a plain voice as he took another sip of his wine.

Ryan, hearing Vincent question, he took his seat opposite him. "Your brother is going through medical attention now all because of you." He said in a voice loud enough for only Vincent to hear.

Vincent snickered upon hearing Ryan's words. Dropping his wine glass on the table at their center, "You're wrong. Luis put himself in that state with his foolishness." He replied calmly.

"The doctor said it's going to take him a month to fully recover... Wasn't your attack too fatal? He still your younger brother."

"That's why I didn't kill him"

"Do you think Luis is the only one who wants you dead?" Ryan said irritated by Vincent reply.

Countering Ryan's question, Vincent fixed his piercing gaze on Ryan before speaking, "Are you one of them?" And Ryan gulped down his saliva immediately Vincent words entered his ears.

Looking away to avoid Vincent gaze, "You have many enemies, Vincent." Ryan said, ignoring Vincent question.

A smirk curved on Vincent lips as he got Ryan's answer. He had expected Ryan to avoid his question but he wasn't unbothered wherether he dined with his enemy or not.

"Shrugging off Ryan's words, "I don't care how many I have..." Picking up his glass, "When the time comes, I'll silent everyone of them..." Looking directly into Ryan's eyes, "One after another." He said in a serious expression and sipped his wine.

He could see the fear in Ryan's eyes and that was enough for him now. He wasn't the type to trust anyone and even those close to him, he had to put fear in them so they won't think about starting something they won't be able to finish. Not that they won't finish it but he'll help them end it with their death.

Removing his serious expression and dangerous demeanor that gave out cold aura, Vincent put on a calm aura and a light expression. "Join me and have a drink and stop being my brother baby sitter. You know, he's too old for that."

Signalling the waiter to get them another wine glass and after he had brought it, Vincent poured wine into it and gave Ryan. "Here, have this and free your mind."

Faking a smile, Ryan accepted the drink and took a sip. "Thank God I'm not your brother." He mused in his head.
