It had been a few hours since Aurelia and Avilas left the bedroom.
They sat across from eachother in the room lined with books. It would be a far stretch to call it a library, but more a collection.
They pair poured over books about unknown beings, ritualistoc marks and tryi g their hardest to find anything about blue hair.
"I only knows humans covet it. But as far as I can find, you are the only one born with it. Others achieve it using crushed bluebells, mixing with nightshade as protection..", Avilas pondered the scripture, stealing glances at Aurelia.
"Hmm...", Aurelia was deep in a book about the Five Packs, wondering if there was a lineage possibility for her abnormality.
"Aurelia...?", Avilas gaze now fixed on the girl twirling a few strands of hsir between her index and middle finger as she read.
Her amazing blue eyes looked up at him and the questions he had for her could no longer wait.
"What happened in the Eclipse Pack?", he found a way to ask without stating the obvious.
"You know whag happened, the next Aloha told me to leave when-", Aurelia was confused by his question. She forgot about him seeing her body, since she had been lost in literature for a while, only exchanging a few words with Avilas.
"Before that. I know you said you didn't want to talk about it earlier but my mind won't let it be. Who hurt you?", Avilas tried his hardest to keep his emotions in check. He was ready to rip out that pathetic mutts throat who made Aurelia leave her home.
"Nobody hurt me. I did it to myself...", Aurelia was embarassed. This man, a beacon of pure radiance before her had scene the ugly markings she left on her body and she had to voice how they got there.
"I know. But why? You are beautiful and unique. You should have been worshipped", Avilas' word rang true. There was no being in all of the world like Aurelia. Time would be the judge of how the world would accustom to her.
"They hated me, Avilas. I was already lowborn when my parents died. Being born with blue hair, then orphaned, then having no wolf? I was the entertainment! Anyone was bored, 'lets go fuck with the freak'!", Aurelias tone became hysterical with the recollection of how she was treated in the Eclipse Pack.
Tears formed in her eyes but she kept speaking like she was unable to stop as they rolled down her face.
"Oh here comes the blue haired freak. Lets steal her clothes and spit in her porridge! Only Claudia ever used my name. Everyone else called me 'Defect'. No wonder the future Alpha was disgusted to have me as his mate. Surprised he didn't start cutting himself too when he found out..." Aurelia continued to ramble and pick at the skin on her wrist.
Avilas was at her side in the blink of an eye. Aurelia continued to ramble at him as he cupped her face. Her voice was now incoherent, tears streamed down her face.
"Your name is Aurelia. You are beuatiful. You matter. You are not alone, and you never will be again. I am honoured to have you as my mate. I will spind eternity making sure that every day you knownjust how important you are.", Avilas brow was furrowed as he vowed to her.
Aurelia had stopped rambling but her eyes could not meet Avilas. She stared blankly passed him as tears silently rolled down her now rose cheeks. Her eyes were puffy and her nose was red. As if reciting the past made it all real and hapoening in the moment, Aurelias wished she was dead.
Avilas leaned in and kissed her cheek, before brushing away the last few tears with his thumb. A scent caught him off guard.
He looked down to see blood rising from an open scar on Aurelias wrist. He took a deeo breath, fighting every urge to bring her soft skin to his lips. It had onky been a few hours since his last feed, but her blood was like alcohol to an addict.
"Lets leave for a few hours. We can get something to eat and you can feel the fresh air on your face. We can come back to all this later", Avilas offered Aurelia his hand as he stood up before her. She took it and rose to stand in front of him.
He used his fingers under her chin to tilt her small face up to look at him.
"You are beautiful", was all he said.
Avilas led Aurelia down the tunnels but took a different route than the one to the bedroom. After a few twists and turns they arrived at a set of steps leading to wooden doors above.
Avilas pushed them open with his free hand, and the twilight sky let in a wonderful pinkinsh glow. The pair stepped out into a small street in the outskirts of Downstride.
They wandered the streets, hand in hand, Aurelia glancing uo at Avilas with every chance she got. She was unable to believe she was not in a dream, alqays expecting hin to disappear before her eyes and awake in the omega quaters of the Eclipse Pack.
Before too long they arrived at a small restaurant, nothing too extravagant but the aromas wafting through the doors were enough for Aurelia to not wven acknowledge the appearance as she and Avilas went inside.
