Chapter 21 - Horrid Clutches of Time

Aurelia stared back at Avilas, sunure how to comprehend this new information.

"Oh...", was all she could say as she took a bite of some meat as a form of distraction.

She knew what this meant. She was Avilas' destined, but she herself was not Draugr and one day she will die, leaving him alone.

Aurelia was unsure how to feel about this. Avilas could hide the emotions from his face but there was utter heartbreak in his eyes.

They known one another for the best part of a week now, knowing that they were destined to eachother but no relationship had been established between the pair.

Avilas mere presence was heavenly for Aurelia. She wanted to be close to him and touching him always. She wanted to forever be in his embrace but she couldn't actually explain how she felt for she had no experience with this kind of relationship.

Avilas had been in love before, a very long time ago. He knew the heartache of losing somebody in that capacity. If losing her felt as bad as it did, he could not fathom losing Aurelia, even if it was to the horrid clutches of time.

The pair stared at eachother for a long time, unable to muster the right words to ease eachother racing minds.

Aurelia moved closer to Avilas, and if by instinct he moved to her in time. He graced her cheek with his thumb and she held his face in her small hand.

Without thinking, Aurelia leaned up and kissed him softly. She could smell the blood on his breath and paid no mind to it. In this moment, nothing mattered than being close to him. She looked up into his stunning golden eyes, and asked the question that played her mind since they were intimate together.

"So... what is... this?" Aurlias gestured at them both.

"If you are immortal and we are unsure what I even am, but we are destined then how is this even going to work?"

There was panic in her voice. The thought if not being with Avilas in any scenario made her heart hurt.

She could not tell her but she loved him already.

Aurelia was still unsure if he would eventually eat her, or if this was all some sick cosmic joke but being just in his presence made her feel whole.

"Honestly?", Avilas raised his eyebrows as he spoke. He smoothed her hair while the other snaked around her waist pulling her closer to him.

"I have no idea. There are so many things we need to find out about you. That is our priority before our feelings." Avilas spoke so matter of factly. And then his gaze softened.

"But all I know right now is, that you are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, smelled and tasted". This made Aurelia blush yet again and the memories of Avilas face between her thighs and how he licked his fingers when he was done with her.

"And I don't want to spend a second more of my existance with out you." He held her face stared into both of her ocean blue eyes.

"I have been roaming this land for 630 years, and I have waited every single day for you. We will find a way to be together, my love".

With that, Aurelia kissed him again. She lingered at his lips for longer this time and he met her with the same longing.

Aurelia was overwhelmed with Avilas admittance to her. She was glad he felt as strongly as she, and she need not ask anymore for that part. But there was one thing...

"Avilas?" Aurelias asked when she pulled her lips from his. He nodded.

"You're really 630 years old?", her eyes were wide when she asked. Age limits weren't a major concern in the wolf world. As long as people were of a consensual age of over 18, relationship age gaps were vastly varied.

But 610 years...

Avilas chuckeld at her surprised face.

"I was transitioned at 28 years old. And have not physicallt aged since. So I have been a Draugr for 602 years, yes".

Time had become irrelevant to Avilas, it passed without much acknowledgement from him. However, he did note every century that passed.

"That would make you... 610 years older than me. Is that weird?", Aurelia was trying to cover all bases. With how comfortable she became so quickly with Avilas, it would ruin her to have anything take it away now.

"No. The way I feel about you, nothing could make it weird or wrong in my heart. We are Destined, Aurelia." And with that answer, Avilas kissed her again. This time it was deep and passionate and he held her close to him. His hands wrapped around her body with no cares for who saw their public displays of affection.
