"What did Mr. Roney say to you earlier, sir?"
The old man answered Ray's question even though he was a bit confused about the purpose of the question.
"Oh... You're asking about the sign language Roney used earlier, right? He just asked for permission to relax by the lake over there," the old man pointed in a direction obscured by trees.
"But there are only dense trees over there, sir."
"Behind it, there is a beautiful lake. It often has fireflies, so he often goes there at midnight."
"Ohhh...," Ray acted as if he was curious, but in reality, he was not the least bit curious about it.
The old man made hot chocolate and served it to Ray. They both ended up enjoying hot chocolate together there.
Ray, looking around the bonfire, realized that the old man had made 3 cups of hot chocolate for them. Seeing this made Ray immediately realize that the hot chocolate in the cup was made by the old man for Roney.
