Chapter 10 - TEN...

"Oh, Youngest master Gates...welcome back to Black Turtle City." One of the two guards stationed at the gates.

Not showing any expression on his face, he gives a nod as he walks right in, as though it was his city...of course, in a way it was.

"Why did you act that way towards him? Everyone knows he's nothing to the gates family" the other soilder questioned his comrade in a hushed tone but for some reason, Gates could hear it.

'It seems my awakening was too effective' Gates thought, not minding the conversation between those two.

"What do you mean? What time is it?" The guard being reprimanded questioned his friend

"Not past 7..."

"Then where do you think the youngest master of the gates family is coming back from by such a time? Ahead of here is just one thing" the guard continued his questioning

"..No way, he can't..."

The two guards turned to see the receding figure of Gates as they didn't notice the next person whom walked in after him, dark skin tone, dark short hair trimmed at the sides and a handsome face with set jawline.

He walked past the guards, hearing their conversation and leaving it aside as he took off in a different direction from Gates, headed towards the slums.

His pace was neither fast nor slow and he did not seem out of place considering how handsome he was. Reaching the slums the used a couple of alleyways and shortcuts before reaching a part of the slums that were relatively clean compared to other parts of it.

He walked towards a house, poorly constructed as parts of it had heavy cracks that seemed to have worsened with time, not paying any heed to such things, he opened the door and headed inside, seeing a girl that walked slowly almost with a limp all the while using a wooden cane to carry herself around.

She hard the same features as the man, dark hair, dark skin and a height a little shorted than that of Gates... she turned when she heard the sound of the door opening and closing, seeing the man in the house, she didn't seem scared but of the opposite nature,

"Brother!" She shouted with joy, although even excited she had forgotten all about her predicament and tried to jump at him...

Realising that she would soon trip and fall, he quickened his steps, catching her off in the form of a hug to which her hands wrapped tightly around his neck...

"How many times do I have to tell you not to do too much, it might worsen your condition...Laura " The man said carrying her as he walked towards the bedroom.

"But brother, I've missed you, where have you been??" The girl named Laura asked as he laid her down on the bed and sat beside her, she was confused why he did that but didn't complain.

"I think I've found it, what can cure you..." He said, bringing out the singular petal from the Life-Jade flower.

Unsure whether this petal would work and unsure whether her brother was okay or not, they both did not voice out their doubts...

"Brother, what's that?" Laura asked, looking at the beautiful glowing petal of a flower on his hand ...

"Your cure...do you trust me?" He asked as he looked her in the eye...

"...Always." She said, nodding her head as she shifted her gaze between her brother, Yusuf and the petal in his hands.

Motioning for her to open her mouth, he fed the petal to her and told her to lay down on the bed...he was unsure what it would do to her but he would be there to help her in whatever way he could.

It wasn't until the same bright glow like that of the Orc, Sar'har came about that he knew that maybe it would work...Well, until a shriek of a scream rang out from the mouth of Laura.

...

Walking along the main streets of the large city, Gates was amazed, the book failed to do this place justice, the cobblestones on the ground were elegantly arranged, the brick houses were solid and as beautiful as ever... The people were hustling and bustling, it was amazing that the nightlife wasn't as rowdy.

There was the bakeries, the blacksmiths, the Alchemists association, the hunters association, the assassins association, the Churches and important buildings of the city. Passing all of these, Gates marvelled at the sight.

Should he say he missed his life on earth? Should he actually think of the need to leave this magical place with limitless potential on his part for what? A medium life of having to work for a software company, code, eat, sleep, goof off and repeat? No, this world was going to be his milestone...It would only get better from here, or worse, whichever as long as he could predict the next movements and pace of the plot from what he had read.

"Speaking of which, my next plan of action would be what exactly?"

Gates walked as he thought to his first arrival in this world, after all he had experienced he could not rule out the fact that this was his reality now... He had to survive and get stronger, and get stronger he will.

Squeezing his hands, he could feel the strength from Sar'har, maybe it was because he used he worlds mana that he could still feel as ascertain the main power he felt from that orc. Ten times the amount of power she had did not just apply to her magic it seemed, from the looks of it her magic was non existent for now, and what he gained from her was her strength, regeneration, agility, stamina and dexterity, all of these were stat boosts that propelled him forward ten times the amount she had.

If he wasn't overpowered just by having this innate ability he could not tell what else could guarantee him a power this great.

However he could not let his family suspect him, he had been missing and they had not searched for him, it means that either they did not care what he did and where he went or they had already presumed him dead and are waiting to see.

"Seems that I still have to conclude that deal with Yusuf, I need that name."
