Chapter 1 - A world and the thing

An endless down fall continuesly fell from the infinitely gray sky, flashes of bright light occasionally tear through the clouds and loud roars soon followed.

In an alleyway within a nameless city, a young girl that looked barely the age of four, wearing a messy and tattered one-piece white dress that have long expired it's intended use, sat between three bags of trash, staring blankly at a young boy barely any older than the girl, looking to be about the age of five or six, lying flatly on the cold and dirty ground.

Covered from head to toe with various fresh wounds, some deep, some not so, yet even one or two of such wound should be fatal to an adult if not treated immediately for multiple reasons much less for a child of tender age, yet even with all the wounds covering the young boy, he yet still lives.

Clothes tattered beyond recognition, with a pool of blood soaking the not so dry ground with Crimson, filling the monotone gray world with a surprisingly beautiful color, the young boy was starting at the young girl with desperation, looking as if wanting to say something but was not able to...

No, the boy really did wanted to say something, but was unable to make a sound as a wound on his neck, that looked to have been ripped off by some unknown creature, was preventing him from saying a word and with all the other bizzar wounds covering his body made him unable to make a single action, but stare at the girl desperately but even that was difficult, intense pain assaulted his brain every waking moment, and consciousness was rapidly fading from his eyes and feeling of death was continuing to pull away the remaining of his will, yet the boy still lives determined to convey the words he wish to speak to the girl with his gaze...

But the boy was still human, with wounds like that, any normal person would have lost conscious the second they lost a certain amount of blood, and the boy was no exception.

Despite holding on to his consciousness beyond the limits of his body, he still fell from the reaper's scythe moments after with opened eyes.

The girl stayed still, unmoving like that of a stone statue carved specifically in the form it was designed, not understanding anything and everything as if the very reason and logic inborn within humanity was robbed cruelly by something unknown from the girl making her suspiciously still even though the image she saw before her should have promo her to have a more intense rection.

The girl didn't feel a single shred of emotion only staring blankly at the now deceased young boy, not understanding anything at all.

What the boy wanted to say with his gaze didn't registered to the girl, though hardly anyone could understand the meaning behind the boy's gaze without understanding his circumstances.

The girl didn't know that, or maybe she did but forgot...

Forgoten what exactly?

Who... Was that boy...?

... Where... am I?

Why... am I here?

... What happened?

At that moment, questions upon questions emerge from the girl's mind and yet not one was answered.

Who... Am I?

With that question in her mind, the girl heart shook, feeling that something was amiss, something was wrong but for some reason the girl couldn't realy understand what was wrong, even though she was currently staring at the now corps of the boy, in the girl's mind, the sight of it seemed strangely normal, even more strange to the girl was that it seemed to look somewhat attractive.

Was it attractive?

But why?

The girl thought her behavior strange yet not so much as it was normal but that in itself seemed wrong to her or maybe not, still the fact that the girl was feeling this conflicting emotions within her was really strange to her yet her mind was refused to acknowledge the fact.

As the girl continued to contemplate on her feelings at an extensive amount of time, within the monotonous black and white world something changed.

The boy who should have been dead, slowly sat up in one moment, then stood straight, then started walking away from the girl as if nothing ever happened with the wounds all fix or rather as if it didn't exist at all.

Moments later the figure of boy quickly faded in an alleyway corner.

The girl kept her gaze to the bizarrely strange phenomenon that shouldn't have happen but happened anyway event not noticing an equally strange figure behind her that for some reason appeared without any sound.

Noticing a presence behind her, the girl shifted her body to looked at the figure behind her.

The figure being humanoid at best but lack any distinction a normal human being should have, only being human shape but otherwise incomprehensible beyond any words of description.

The girl was unmoved, confused and lost as she stared at the figure.

The figure in kind silently cought the girls gaze, then it moved, how or what movements the figure did was incomprehensible or rather it was for the girl as the moment it move, intense pain suddenly assaulted her head to an impossible degree, then for some reason or maybe without reason wounds big and small, deep and shallow appeared on her body from head to toe, her dress was further ripped appar staining it red.

The girl then fell to the ground unmoving surrounded by the bags of trash she once sat upon, warped with pain so unbearable that she wished she could just die, but for reasons unknown she was unable.

And not just that for some reason dispite the impossible pain she was feeling another feeling was feeling her heart with despair.

Even though unseen in her eyes, she felt something was slowly encroach from outside her wounds to her body and it wasn't just one but many.

Unable to move, unable to say a word, unable to die.

It was hopeless

As that thought appeared in her head the girl moved her gaze to no where in particular in her view was nothing but a blur but she knew that she was a lost cost, unable to speak she hope that if there was someone else with her in that alleyway, she could warn them, tell them with her gaze to run as far away from this place as far as possible...

But maybe it was no use...

As the girl though of that, her consciousness was slowly being taken away from her and then...

For minutes to hours or more, silence prevail the alleyway with nothing but the heavy downfall and the occasional sound of thunder echoed the area.

Then the girl sat up, stood up and stared blankly at the figure that now appeared now in front of her with literal hollow eyes with blood dropping from the two empty pair of holes, but despite the bloody description on her face, no other wounds can be seen on her body, better yet her once tattered clothes are as good as new, as if it was just made moments before.

The figure offered it's hand to the girl, the girl tilted her head, but the next moment the girl held the figure's hand and... Smiled... She smiled for reasons unknown, moments later the figure and the girl started walking as if what happened before that didn't happen to a corner, away from this place.

I saw every moments of those event from bigging to end... But I didn't understand anything.

What... Just happened?

As that though filled my mind... I felt a presence behind me...

Oh, hell no...

In that moment I bolted away from where I was, I didn't know why I did what I did, but I felt my heart beating uncomfortably, something was wrong, I don't know what it is, my brain refuses to acknowledge it and the action of running was absurd from my perspective, yet I continued to run regardless.

From corner to corner, I moved my body hoping to get out of this alleyway, but for some reason it seemed endless yet I moved my body, yet I am still human... Or at least that's what I believe, regardless exhaustion quickly took me and my body became sluggish.

I wanted to run, run and keep running but I'm still human, I have a limit, even if I wanted, I struggled to move, fallen down to the ground I clawed my way forward not stopping, not understanding the motivation of moving, yet keep on crawling, then a corner, and another corner, and...

In front of me stood a humanoid figure, but as far as description hold, only that part could be understood, understanding further would be impossible, or rather it is possible but for reasons unknown to me brain refuse to acknowledge it.

Then....

The sound of birds singing echoed outside my window, the emerald greens of trees shower my veiw as I gaze outside the window, and the world has colors once more.
