"You have to marry Landon if we're going to continue your father's treatment!" Gina, Carrie's stepmom yelled. "I've been spending my money on him and still he's not responding to treatment. I can't continue to waste my money. He's better of dead"

Carrie Brontë tried her best to hold back her tears. Her father, Jayce Brontë was dieing and the only way to continue his treatment was to marry a man she barely even knew, Landon Slark. Landon was a successful CEO. He was very wealthy and he owned companies in different parts of the world. Carrie had heard of him quite a number of times and now she was being forced to marry him.Besides Carrie already had a boyfriend, Blake, whom she intends to marry as soon as she's done with college.

She watched Gina as she stormed off, then fixed her gaze on her dad who just layed on the bed, lifelessly. Carrie stood up and opened the door carefully. Walking through the passage way, Carrie noticed something different. Blake's keys were here right on the dining table. She moved closer to take a better look. It was his keys, her eyes couldn't possibly deceive her. Without a soothsayer telling her, she knew deeply in her heart that BLAKE WAS HERE.

But what could he possibly be doing at her house. He definitely knew that she never came home, then why was he here? Carrie decided to wait and see where this was heading. After waiting for three hours straight and still not seeing anything, she decided to take her leave 'cause she already felt tired.

As she got up to leave, Blake and her stepsister, Vera came out from Vera's room with Blake holding Vera's waist firmly and Vera holding Blake's hair, and even worse, they were kissing.

"Oh my God!" Carrie exclaimed while Vera and Blake quicly let go of themselves and turned to Carrie. She glared at them as bitter and angry tears filled her eyes.

"Babe, it's not what you think. I was..."Blake tried to explain but before he could finish, Carrie already stormed off. She went to the garden. That was Gina's favorite place to stay because of the fresh air. Carrie stood in front of Gina for a while which was kinda bizzare.

"Speak!" Gina yelled, breaking the awkward silence.

"I'll marry Landon so as to continue my dad's treatment." Carrie declared making Gina arch an eyebrow.

"Really" Gina paused, excitement in her tone. "Hope you are not trying to play some kind of trick on me"

"I'm serious"

Gina's face lit up. "Good. I'll contact the Slarks so the wedding preparations would commence. Go and pack your things."

"Okay. I have to get going. I'll be here tomorrow morning, eight thirty sharp." Carrie concluded before leaving for her dorm.
