Alysia's body slammed against the cold, hard ground, the breath knocked from her lungs. She groaned, trying to push herself up, but the world around her spun.
When the dizziness cleared, she found herself in a cavern—a vast, hollow place illuminated by an eerie, greenish light. The air was thick with an unsettling silence.
"Alysia…" the voice called again.
Her heart hammered in her chest. The voice wasn't coming from the trees anymore; it was coming from somewhere deeper within the cavern.
"Alysia, come to me," it whispered.
Fear lanced through her, but a deep, inexplicable urge drove her forward. She had to find the source.
The walls of the cavern seemed to shift with each step, the shadows stretching and contorting in unnatural ways. The whispers grew louder, urging her on.
"Alysia…"
Suddenly, the ground beneath her gave way again, and she plummeted into an endless abyss.
