Chapter 286 - Chapter 286

Igor was awed by the power of the strike, but it didn't arouse any fear within him. If he was calm enough to still be impressed, then it meant he still had some means to handle this overgrown lizard.

Ddraig was still flying in midair when Igor stretched out his hand.

"Get down here. My neck hurts."

Domineering, ostentatious, arrogant---that was the aura Igor gave off when he uttered those words. Some felt he was biting off more than he could chew, especially the older generation. No matter how you looked at it, this dragon was strong.

But their doubt was cut off in one swell swoop. Dozens upon dozens of massive golden arms burst out of the ground. They reached out to the dragon in the sky preparing to charge once more. They quickly wrapped around Ddraig like a tsunami of vines from both sides.

Everything happened very quickly. The dragon probably never expected for such a technique to be used against him.

BOOOM!

The hands swiftly pulled him down towards the ground with a loud crash. His wings were pinned to his body and his limbs were firmly held down. It was already too late for struggles and by the time Ddraig realised it, an energy corrosive to his nature was being channeled into him.

"ROOOAAAAARRR!!!"

It felt like acid was being poured into his body, but there was nothing he could do. He struggled violently, but the golden arms pinned him down. The only thing left was his head, and he would use his flames to exterminate this puny human in front of him.

Igor felt the large concentration of energy forming within Ddraig's throat. Without a doubt, this overgrown lizard would try and burn him to death.

"Idiot."

Su!

He instantly appeared on the dragon's snout and locked eyes with him.

"Learn to be obedient."

He raised his foot and brought it down.

BOOOOOOM!

A terrifying loud clap resounded throughout the region. The force of his stomp caused Ddraig's head to hit the ground with such force a crater formed. The dust alone created a thick cover that concealed everything.

When it vanished, Ddraig's massive figure was nowhere to be seen. Even the massive hands were gone. What everyone saw however brought differing reactions to each army.

Atid was lying on the ground before Igor's feet, completely unconscious and at his mercy. His skin was dark red like a dying ember and his vitality was on the cusp of "dangerously low".

Igor did not know what pushed his friend to use such extreme methods, but he could make guesses.

"Idiot."

Just this little venture cost Atid several dozen millennia of lifespan, especially his forceful manifestation of Ddraig. Of the seven beads on his neck, six of them had been broken and the seventh one already showed signs of cracking.

It didn't take a genius to guess these were probably lifespan beads given to him. From Igor's guess, each one contained ten-thousand years of vitality, and this idiot blew through sixty-thousand years worth of vitality.

"Tch."

If Atid was his son, he would've beaten him like a bastard grandchild. His own lifespan was just barely above fifty-thousand, and most of it is thanks to Triny, yet this idiot squandered more in less than an hour.

For a moment, Igor looked at Atid's prone form. His friend's actions were too rambunctious and uncontrolled, not to mention they reeked of carelessness. If he didn't put him down quickly, Atid would've died from manifesting Ddraig.

"Idiot. If you weren't my friend, I would've killed you just to teach you a lesson."

Su!

He didn't stay any longer. If he did, he was afraid he'd give this idiot a few slaps just to reset that useless brain of his.

Atid suffered a humiliating defeat. From beginning to end, it was abundantly clear Igor did not use all of his power. In the words of a certain monkey, he was handled like a "snot-nosed brat".

He was retrieved from the battlefield and sent back to recuperate. His body couldn't bear the strain of forcefully manifesting Ddraig and had suffered tumultuous damage that could only be healed by lifeforce.

The war between the rest of the Supreme Class entities continued soon after and the battle was explosive. Strange magic circles, rare artifacts, and all kinds of powerful techniques were traded. The youth once again had their horizons broadened. A fight between beings of the Supreme Class really was something else.

Many assumed Igor would participate, but the blonde remained by Shiva's side since his overwhelming victory against Indra's heir. Not a speck of dust stained him nor was a piece of fabric torn. From beginning to end, he was in control.

Atid's humiliating defeat no doubt soured the morale amongst Indra's army. So in the end, it wasn't all that surprising when they were defeated. Their battle lasted three days in total and dozens of them died.

Igor was powerful, but there were people far more powerful than him who fought down below. He saw strange transformations that propelled individuals from High to Peak-Supreme Class.

Perhaps this was Shiva's intention, to remind him not to get a hot head. Indeed, Igor did almost get a hot head. He'd barely tapped into Triny's power and he managed to soundly defeat Ddraig. It was a bastardized form of the dragon with barely any conscience, but his head did inflate a beat at his easy victory.

Now, Igor was once more forced to realise even if he sprouted all seven tails and burnt his lifeforce, he'd be killed before the end of day one. He wasn't afraid of death, but of how he died. It'd be a stain on his heart if he died because of a big head.

.

It's been four days since the war began and one day since it's been over. Igor didn't have the heart to stay in the Heavenly Realm and visit Indra and Sun Wukong. Part of the reason was because he'd beat Atid black and blue, but the main reason was he needed to give his friend some time to learn his lesson.

Igor had no doubt Indra used him to teach his idiot rival a lesson. Atid treated lifeforce like toilet water and had no fear in expending thousands of years of lifeforce just to pursue a higher form.

Igor could haphazardly guess Atid forgoed training his base form and focused on attaining higher forms of his sacred gear. Now that he'd encountered a setback in the form of a handsome warrior such as himself…

{You're not handsome.}

…Igor was sure Atid would learn a valuable life lesson.

{And the pot meets the kettle. You forget you were also in his situation, Igor.}

[And what did I do? I realised the most logical solution and went back to training my body. Unlike him, I don't have endless reserves of lifespan.]

{You generate an entire human's lifespan in a day. Surely you can afford to squander a bit?}

{That idiot also 'squandered a bit'. Look where that got him. Unlike him, I don't have a father who's willing to condense lifeforce beads for me.}

{Maybe if you call Lord Shiva 'that' he'd be willing to-}

" *COUGH* *COUGH* *COUGH* "

Igor sat up with a start as he choked on his own spit. He was completely and utterly unprepared for Triny's sudden rebuttal. He was so surprised he even slammed his forehead into a low-hanging branch.

"Wh-wha…what the- *cough* *cough* *cough* "

He hit his chest several times, causing the small droplets of tears on the corner of his eyes to fly away. He truly wasn't prepared. Call Shiva 'father'? Did she want him to die?!

{Well…not yet anyway.}

Not yet?!

"Damn hag! As soon as I get my hands on you…!"

{Waaaah! I was joking!}

The calmness induced by the nature energy coursing through his body was completely wiped away by her remark. Hours of connecting with the surrounding nature was reduced to a pile of excrement by this damnable girl!

{Meanie! I said I'm sorry.}

[Your sorry isn't worth a fag's underwear!]

Igor begrudgingly stood up. All the animals that previously gathered around him had vanished like a fart in the wind. If it weren't because of his current location, Igor surely would've cursed up a storm. He was deep in the forest, but he'd learnt not to underestimate Parvati's hearing.

"Damnit…"

{You dirtied your cloak.}

"What?"

He craned his neck over his shoulder and noticed a small patch of mud had clung onto the helms of his cloak, the cloak Parvati especially made for him.

"Fuck…"

"Oh my~? Such a vulgar word, Igor."

"..."

Parvati in all her glory was suddenly standing in front of him as if she was there this whole time. She was adorned in a long floral dress that tried but failed to hide her very motherly figure. Her smile wasn't quite a smile and with how she was, Igor reckoned he'd get less food today.

[Triny.]

{...yes?}

[Fuck your mother.]
