Chereads / DXD: The Awakening Of Phenex / Chapter 79 - Chapter [79]

Chapter 79 - Chapter [79]

Riser Phenex was in his room at the private mansion in the underworld, observing his Peerage and his wife's Peerage training outside. He stood by the window, his eyes analyzing every move of his subordinates.

"System, show me my current stats," ordered Riser, his voice filled with determination.

A holographic screen appeared before him, displaying detailed information about his power and abilities.

Protagonist's Luck:

- Issei Hyoudou (1300)

Riser smiled satisfactorily as he saw the protagonist's luck decrease, feeling more confident in his own plans.

"I'm getting closer and closer to defeating Issei," murmured Riser to himself, his mind already thinking about the next steps.

Riser stepped away from the window and turned to face his room, a place that had once been his sanctuary but now felt claustrophobic. He walked over to the bed and collapsed onto it, feeling the weight of his own expectations on his shoulders.

"After I defeat Issei, what will happen?" he asked the empty room, his voice filled with uncertainty and anxiety. "Will I become the protagonist?"

No answer came, only the oppressive silence of the surrounding environment. Riser closed his eyes, wishing he could escape the pressure of his own expectations, if only for a moment.

"Will I be able to act freely, without worrying about someone with super luck appearing and wanting to take everything from me?" he murmured to himself, his mind lost in dark thoughts.

He imagined a future where he was the center of attention, where his desires were the only thing that mattered. But this vision also brought with it a sense of emptiness, as if something essential were missing from his life.

Riser opened his eyes and looked up at the ceiling, feeling overwhelmed by the loneliness of his own thoughts.

"Is it worth it?" he questioned, his voice whispering in the quiet air of the room. "Does any of this really matter?"

He closed his eyes again, wishing he could sleep and forget the depressing feelings that plagued him.

City of Osaka

Issei and Sirzechs emerged from the portal on the grounds of a majestic mansion in the city of Osaka. Issei looked around, amazed by the grandeur of the building.

"Where are we, Sirzechs-Sama?" asked Issei, his eyes still fixed on the mansion.

"Osaka!" replied Sirzechs, with a smile. "This is where your trainer is."

Issei nodded, taking in the information.

The grand door of the mansion opened, and Azazel stepped out, greeting them with a smile.

Issei was surprised to see him there. "Is Azazel going to train me from now on?" he asked, a little hesitant.

"Exactly," confirmed Sirzechs. "And now, I must go. Talk to Azazel about your training plan."

With that, Sirzechs teleported away, leaving Issei and Azazel alone.

Azazel approached Issei, noticing his nervous expression.

"Surprised, kid?" teased Azazel, with a playful smile.

Issei backed away a bit, feeling uncomfortable with the situation.

"No need to be nervous, I don't bite," joked Azazel, trying to ease the tension.

Issei took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. "Why do you want to train me?" he asked, curious about Azazel's motives.

Azazel smiled, appreciating the young man's determination.

"Why don't we go inside the mansion to talk?" suggested Azazel, gesturing invitingly towards the majestic residence.

Issei nodded, following Azazel through the imposing mansion door. The interior was as splendid as the exterior, with luxurious furniture and exquisite decoration.

"What's your plan, Fallen Angel?" asked Ddraig, his voice coming from the Boosted Gear.

Azazel glanced at Issei's arm where the Boosted Gear was located.

"Finally decided to talk to me, Red Dragon Emperor?" teased Azazel, with a playful tone in his voice. "Well, to answer your question, nothing in particular!"

"Don't lie to me," demanded Ddraig, his indignation evident in his voice. "You're not doing this just out of altruism. What's your true goal?"

Issei was even more surprised by Ddraig's tone towards Azazel. "He's the leader of the Fallen Angels," Issei thought, feeling the need to intervene. "We can't speak to him like that."

But Ddraig, determined to express his concerns, retorted.

"He was close to the Albion's host! It's obvious he has hidden motives."

As Issei tried to maintain composure in the situation, he looked at Azazel for explanations. On the other hand, Azazel sighed, recognizing the tension in the air.

"He's right," admitted Azazel, surprising Issei. "But I believe that my goals are similar to yours, Red Dragon Emperor."

Issei was perplexed by the exchange of words between Ddraig and Azazel. His heart raced as he tried to understand the meaning behind the conversation.

"What are you two talking about?" asked Issei, his voice filled with confusion.

"Riser!"

Issei frowned upon hearing his enemy's name.

"Azazel wants to use us to get revenge on Riser," Ddraig asserted, his voice echoing through the mansion. Issei blinked, surprised by the revelation.

"What do you mean?" murmured Issei to himself, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the situation.

Azazel noticed Issei's confused expression and sighed, knowing it was time to clarify things.

"Ddraig is right," agreed Azazel, addressing Issei. "But I believe that the three of us have a common goal. The three of us have a grudge against Riser: me for Vali, Ddraig for Albion, and you, Issei, wouldn't you like to impress the Gremory girl?"

Issei widened his eyes, surprised by the perspective presented by Azazel. He couldn't deny the truth in the fallen angel's words.

"Rias," murmured Issei, remembering the girl who occupied his most intimate thoughts. "If I were stronger, she would let me see her naked again."

Azazel chuckled, appreciating Issei's honesty.

"So we're in agreement," concluded Azazel, his voice reflecting determination. "The three of us will unite to defeat Riser and achieve our personal goals."

Issei nodded, feeling a new determination rising within him.

"Let's do this," agreed Issei, his voice firm and resolute. "Let's show Riser what we're capable of."

Azazel smiled, satisfied with Issei's response.

"Great," he said, his voice full of confidence. "Now, let's start your training."

"You're not even going to ask my opinion," intervened Ddraig, his voice filled with disapproval.

"Sorry, Ddraig," replied Issei, his tone sounding a bit guilty. "But this is our chance, you saw what happened when Riser defeated Albion. With Azazel's help, I'll get strong and impress sempai."

Ddraig sighed, resigned to Issei's determination. "Fine, but don't waste my time," he replied, his voice revealing some frustration.

"I won't," promised Azazel, his gaze focused on Issei. "I'll turn Issei into the strongest Sekiryuutei of all time."
