Riser's Mansion in the Underworld
Sona entered the room and immediately noticed the somber expression on Riser's face. She approached him, concerned.
"Riser, did something happen?" she asked, her voice soft and filled with concern.
Riser tried to smile to reassure her, but his expression betrayed his inner turmoil. "It was nothing, Sona. Just a family argument."
Sona wasn't fooled by Riser's attempt to downplay the situation. She placed a gentle hand on his shoulder, encouraging him to speak.
"Please, tell me. You know you can trust me," she said, her voice conveying support and understanding.
Riser sighed deeply, feeling the weight of the conflict bearing down on his shoulders. "I argued with my father, Sona."
Sona's concern deepened upon hearing Riser's revelation. "Why did you argue?"
Riser hesitated for a moment, gathering his words before explaining. "My father is concerned that Ajuka may take action against the Phenex family because of the slap I gave Diodora."
Sona listened attentively, her mind working to understand the complexity of the situation. She knew that relationships in the underworld were complicated and full of political rivalries.
"I see," said Sona, her voice calm and thoughtful. "Your father is worried about the family's safety. But he doesn't need to worry. I'm relying on my sister, who holds a similar position to Ajuka in the underworld. She can intercede on our behalf if necessary."
"I know, but still, I don't think a Maou would meddle in a dispute of the younger generation." Riser said.
Sona furrowed her brow slightly, noticing Riser's tendency to underestimate the power of influential figures in the underworld. "Riser, it's best not to leave anything to chance. We should prepare for any eventuality."
Riser agreed, but then his expression became somewhat amused. "Things got a little intense during the argument."
"How so?" Sona asked, curious.
Riser gave a slight smile before continuing. "I used my magic to make my father submit."
Sona raised an eyebrow, surprised by the revelation. "That's expected," she said, teasingly.
Riser playfully took offense. "Are you calling me violent?"
Sona laughed softly, shaking her head. "No, dear. But you know you have that tendency when it comes to protecting your family."
Knock, knock, Knock...
"Come in," said Riser.
Yubelluna entered the room with a warm smile, greeting Riser and Sona with a respectful bow. "Riser-sama, Sona-sama, I apologize for interrupting."
Sona returned Yubelluna's greeting with a friendly nod. "Hello, Yubelluna. Don't worry about it, you're always welcome here."
Yubelluna turned to Riser with a determined expression. "Riser-sama, will you be overseeing the training for the Rating Game today?"
Riser shook his head, smiling confidently. "No, Yubelluna. I trust the girls. They're more than prepared to lead the training."
Yubelluna nodded, accepting Riser's decision with a sparkle of happiness in her eyes. Though she was extremely pleased with Riser's trust, she decided to keep that feeling in her heart.
Sona, however, couldn't help but feel dissatisfied with Riser's decision. She thought he was being negligent by not personally supervising the training, but she decided to keep her thoughts to herself for now.
After the brief conversation, Yubelluna bid farewell, promising to return soon. Riser and Sona exchanged glances as Yubelluna left the room, each lost in their own thoughts.
"What's bothering you?" Riser asked, noticing the worried expression on Sona's face.
Sona sighed, finally deciding to share her feelings with Riser. "It's about the training for the Rating Game. I feel like you're being negligent by not supervising it personally."
Riser chuckled. "You're being a little dramatic, Sona. The girls are more than capable of leading the training."
This only irritated Sona even more. "Riser, I'm not being dramatic. You know how important it is to be involved in every aspect of our training."
"Sona, trust me. I know what I'm doing. And with my current strength, Tannin is no match." Riser said.
Sona still looked uncertain, but decided to accept what Riser said.
As Riser relaxed on the bed, Sona looked at him with a pensive expression. "Riser, how do you manage to get so strong without training as much as the others?"
Riser looked at Sona with a satisfied smile, momentarily enjoying her admiration. "I simply have a natural talent for it, dear. It's a gift that few possess."
Sona raised an eyebrow, unconvinced by Riser's answer. "You're lucky, then," she said, with a hint of envy in her voice.
Riser smiled smugly, feeling pleased with Sona's veiled compliment. "Actually, the luck is yours for having such a wonderful husband like me," he said, with an arrogant tone.
Sona rolled her eyes, finding amusement in Riser's self-confidence. "Narcissist," she muttered, with a smile on her lips.
Riser pretended to look wounded, placing his hand over his heart as if he were genuinely hurt. "Ah, sometimes words can be more deadly than bullets."
Sona rolled her eyes again, used to Riser's theatrics. "Stop the drama," she said. "Neither bullets nor words can kill you."
Riser laughed, feeling satisfied with Sona's response. He stretched out his arms, inviting her to lie down beside him.
Sona accepted Riser's invitation, lying down beside him with a sigh of contentment. She looked at him with affection, enjoying the moment of peace and tranquility they shared together.
Gremory Mansion
In a luxurious room, which seemed to have been taken directly from a European noble palace, ornate furniture in dark wood and velvet upholstery adorned the space. In the center of the room, a majestic bed with a golden canopy stood out, and upon it lay a young man named Issei, in a deep coma.
Sirzechs looked at Issei lying on the bed, a gentle smile on his lips. "How long has he been unconscious?"
"Just a day," replied Rias, her expression filled with concern as she watched Issei. She was visibly nervous about the situation.
"Is he in any danger?" Grayfia asked, her indifferent voice contrasting with the concern of Sirzechs and Rias.
A green light shone on Issei's arm, catching everyone's attention in the room. Ddraig, the voice emanating from Issei's arm, answered Grayfia's question. "No, he's not in any immediate danger, but we can't be sure when he'll wake up."
Sirzechs furrowed his brow, thoughtful. He was considering how useful Issei could be to his sister and the Gremory family when he woke up. "What will happen when he wakes up?" he asked, curious.
Ddraig replied with pride in his voice. "Issei will become half Devil, half Dragon. That will make him even stronger."
Grayfia raised an eyebrow, skeptical. "Will that really make him stronger?"
Ddraig felt a wave of anger at Grayfia's disbelief in Issei's power. "Of course it will," he replied, his voice filled with indignation. "Issei will become a powerful warrior feared by all who dare to challenge him."
Rias looked at Issei with a worried expression. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
"No, Rias. All we can do is wait and trust in Issei himself. He's strong and determined enough to overcome any obstacle he encounters." Ddraig replied.
With that said, everyone in the room fell silent, each lost in their own thoughts as they watched Issei lying on the bed.
