Chapter 7 - Wounded

Jillian's eyes couldn't escape Dion's body, which was now without his clothes. The man's body did look good, but it had a lot of scars like someone had deliberately cut him. Jillian remembered that she had also injured her husband when they fought. It must have been because of her.

However, she didn't do it that much. Moreover, all those wounds were like old wounds that did not go away and left marks. 'It seems to be so deep that it leaves marks like that...' she thought.

Jillian cleaned the blood flowing out of the incision on Dion's stomach with a small towel and water. Dion could be seen moaning softly from the pain. "Hold on a minute, I'll treat it right away."

The woman took some leaves from her suitcase and put them into a masher, pounding the leaves with all her might.

"What leaves are you using?" asked Dion.

"These are Verus medicinal leaves. It will be effective in covering your wounds quickly."

"Verus?" Dion was silent for a moment as he seemed to have heard the name before. Then he realized that it was a very rare and difficult to obtain medicinal leaf. He asked where Jillian could get it, but she was silent.

It seemed that Jillian did not want to discuss this, Dion could only return to silence watching his wife busy pounding the leaves. Once it was smooth enough, Jillian carefully applied the leaves to the wound on Dion's stomach.

"You'll feel a little burning, but that's the process. You just endure the pain..." Jillian said as she took off the vest of her nightgown.

It made her chest look more obvious because of the thin dress she was wearing.

However, Jillian thought nothing of it, as there were no bandages and she used her vest to cover Dion's wound.

"Why... Are you doing this?" asked Dion suddenly.

"What do you mean?"

"Treating me. Don't you hate me? Why do you still want to treat me? Isn't letting me bleed out no big deal to you?"

For a moment Jillian was silent, her hand that was pressing on Dion's wound stopped. Her eyes dropped, looking down at Dion's wound.

"I... Can't let anyone near me get hurt. I can't watch you get hurt in front of me. Whoever you are, I can't just let it happen..." she replied as she returned to treating the wound.

Dion's ruby eyes continued to stare at Jillian's face who looked serious about treating him. He had no idea that Jillian was even thinking like that.

"Don't look at me like that. I did it... Think of it as you not killing me back then. Don't think beyond that,"

"I know that..."

After the wound was successfully closed, Dion could slowly feel the burning in the wound. It was so painful that it made him break out in a cold sweat, his eyes closed against the pain in his stomach. His hands squeezed the sheets of his bed tightly.

In the midst of his agony, his right hand was suddenly pulled and grasped gently. When he opened his eyes, he saw Jillian holding his hand and looking at him sadly. A look he had never seen before.

"Lian..." he murmured softly.

"You can do it. You'll get better soon," she said softly.

Dion grasped Jillian's hand as he endured the pain. He felt that this was the first time someone had accompanied him when he was in such a state. He had thought that it was all just a dream because he wished someone would be with him at a time like this.

Because of the unbearable pain, Dion finally fell asleep. Hoping that the pain would disappear when he woke up later.

The next morning, Dion woke up to the sunlight coming in through the bedroom window that had been wide open since last night. He no longer felt the pain in his stomach. The pain seemed to have just disappeared.

'It turns out that the medicinal leaves really work as fast as the rumors say...' he thought.

When he turned his head to the right, he saw a woman with silver-purple hair, asleep leaning against the bed. Their hands were still clasped together, indicating that what Dion had seen last night was not a dream.

'She really... Did it...'

Dion continued to stare at Jillian's innocent, sleeping face. Slowly, a hand touched Jillian's head and gently brushed the bangs that blocked her face.

"Thank you."

Not long after, Jillian opened her eyes and saw Dion who was already sitting up watching her. Jillian reflexively pulled away and released their hand.

"Ehem... You're awake already."

"Yeah, you woke up late. You must be tired."

"Not really, just like that doesn't make me tired." replied Jillian getting up from the floor while cleaning her dress. "I'll get the servants to clean up the rest of last night and treat your wounds. You need to be bandaged," she continued walking towards the door.

"You're going out dressed like that?" asked Dion pointing at Jillian's open dress.

She had just remembered that she had used the vest of her dress to cover her husband's wound. Now it looked like Jillian was wearing only lingerie. She reflexively pulled up the blanket and covered herself. "You pervert, you looked at it first and then told me?!"

"Seriously, you're the one who didn't pay attention to your clothes. Let me call them, after all, my wound doesn't hurt anymore." The blond man got out of bed and picked up his clothes.

Servants were called in to clean up the blood on the floor and on the bed sheets in their room. In the meantime, they went to clean up and have breakfast with the rest of the royal family.

Hearing of the intruder that night, the Emperor ordered to tighten the guard around the palace where Dion and Jillian lived. The two of them lived in a separate building from the main palace. Although it only took five minutes to get to the main palace.

After eating, the two returned to their room which was already clean. Dion's wound had also been treated with a bandage. When Dion reached his room first, he sat by the window thinking about the man who had come to their room last night.

"Who is he? Why is he after me when he doesn't seem to have any intentions towards Lian. He even left when Lian woke up and didn't attack her either..." he muttered softly.

He tried to remember what the man who attacked him last night looked like, but in his mind's, he remembered Jillian smiling gently at him while holding his hand. Dion shook his head. "Why am I remembering that?"

In the midst of his confusion, Jillian suddenly walked into the room with an annoyed expression and slammed the door behind her, startling Dion who was focused.

"What's wrong?" asked Dion.

"Ahhh how annoying! A strange rumor is spreading in the palace!" Jillian was upset.

"Rumors?" Dion walked over to Jillian. "What rumors are you talking about?"

As Dion approached Jillian who was standing in front of the door, he faintly heard the sound of servants passing by.

"Hey did you hear? Last night Prince Dion and Princess Jillian had brutal sex,"

"Ehh really? Where did you hear that?"

"This morning I changed the bed sheets that had blood on them. I also saw that Princess Jillian's dress was messed up. They must have been very excited last night," said the servant.

"I didn't expect that, I'm so jealous."

Dion's eyes widened at the conversation between the two servants passing by his room. He sighed heavily as he massaged the bridge of his nose.

"What the-- Hufftt.. there's something wrong with them."
