I really don't understand this woman, first, she cancels her wedding because I supposedly fancy her, and then she just runs away with her master, not to mention that the women here are surprisingly fine with being raped.
It must be daily life for them to please these young masters and sons of destiny. The only time they resist is when a third-rate antagonist fancies them, then they would rather die.
Well, I had my fun, what they do from here on out is their problem. For now, I will just continue cultivating until the sect recruitment in two weeks where I will do my best to make Xian Chen's life even more miserable.
There were many techniques to increase the body's potential and progress in the Body Awakening realm. The most common are herbs and pills while those with more powerful backgrounds have special techniques like opening meridians, acupuncture, purifying the body, or getting imparted energy from someone with a high cultivation.
So far, I only used my infinite energy to brute-force through every stage but only relying on one method will make the later stages much harder.
The very process of me cultivating made no sense whatsoever but I had long accepted that my existence could not be explained. The Body Awakening realm was meant to increase potential but I already had infinite, I also didn't have a physical body yet I was somehow able to clean my meridians.
Whatever, I will do this crap till the 99th stage before breaking through to the second realm. I could theoretically keep going but it had no benefits to me and 99 was a good number.
The next two weeks went by rather smoothly, though I did leave the inn since they increased the fee the longer you stayed and did what every self-respecting murder hobo would do, I moved to the forest.
It wasn't that bad, I liked to be under the sky more than in some shabby wooden shack anyway, I did face a small setback though. Once I reached the 64th stage, I started being cockblocked by heaven itself, apparently, stage 64 was the limit of talent and potential someone in the mortal realm was allowed to have.
Being constantly hit by the very lightning someone would have to face in the Heavenly Tribulation in the Ascension realm did not stop me from going further, but it did draw a lot of attention and destroyed my hideout. Many people came to the forest, thinking that some heaven-defying treasure was born or that some expert was ascending, only to be pulverized by the leftover static electricity in the air.
While that did drive away the ordinary people, many powerful lightning cultivators from nearby cities made themselves at home at the edge of the forest to cultivate and benefit from me being hit by Tribulation Lighting. And yes, Xiao Chen also somehow obtained some powerful lightning technique from his daily sign-in and also reaped some benefits despite him being vastly weaker than the other old fogies.
Despite heaven's best attempts to stop me, I made several breakthroughs each day, partly due to my body being tempered by Tribulation Lightning. That's Xianxia logic for you, I guess.
The sect recruitment was tomorrow and I was still thinking of how to mess with the system holder. I had absolutely no use for joining a sect, I was solely doing it to mess with Xiao Chen and to meet other sons of destiny.
From a quick peek into the future, I knew that the test tomorrow would contain the infamous Stairs to Heaven. It was just a glorified stair with increasing gravity on each step and I was planning to make the test extra slippery… literally. The scene of everyone slipping on air like some cartoon character would be hilarious, I wonder who those young masters will swear revenge on.
When the old fogies noticed me leaving the forest, they all started running to me in an attempt to lick my ass with flattery, even young master Xiao thought this was his opportunity to get the support of some mysterious senior.
They all got disappointed however as I was already long gone by the time they arrived at my previous spot, except for a blue orb floating in the destroyed landscape. They didn't even think before rushing at what they believed to be a treasure, only for it to explode the moment someone touched it.
That was a small part of the annoying lightning I had condensed into a ball and left them as a gift. It was extremely unstable, so the moment it was touched, it exploded into arcs of lightning, destroying the entire forest and mountains.
All the old fogies were turned to cosmic dust, except for our dear young master, of course. It was just a test to see how he would deal with the situation because if he couldn't even survive this then I had no need to waste my time with him in the future.
He managed to pull out some talisman before the lightning pulverized him and teleported away but he should still have suffered considerable damage. Good luck with the test tomorrow.
It also confirmed something I had always suspected; the more useless a protagonist was, the stronger his golden finger. Most sign-in systems would only rarely give good stuff but he got a powerful bloodline, a powerful technique, a teleportation talisman, and who knows what else in barely two weeks.
I had a hunch that he would have some divine pill that would allow him to not only recover until the test tomorrow but also allow him to break through. Why can't there be one Xianxia protagonist who is actually talented and doesn't get fed by a system or obtained a powerful technique in his past life?
Is there some rule that forbids young masters with talent and powerful backgrounds from becoming a son of destiny?
