Chereads / Beyond Reality: Throne of Nothingness / Chapter 116 - YGGDRASIL 1

Chapter 116 - YGGDRASIL 1

I created a nice house somewhere in the world, not sure where and I don't care, and created a portal that connected my home with the new residence.

While I was going to stay at home during this time, I wanted the others to live at least somewhat normal.

I might have changed many things in this world, but not the fact that the whole world is radioactive and toxic. Everyone needed a special suit to even go out but all these worldly problems magically stopped at the edge of our garden.

There was still a week before YGGDRASIL officially opened, enough time for me to explain our purpose for coming here and how MMORPG worked. Despite their upbringing, none of them had played something similar before.

I gave everyone their helmet before making a few last adjustments to mine, it not only needed to somehow not break from being on my head but also connect me to the game while I sat in a different dimension.

After that, I just needed to enjoy the game.

Although people could obtain the powers and stats they had in the game, the game itself wasn't real, meaning that I didn't need to worry about anything. I didn't have any of my powers inside unless I specifically wanted to, which I obviously didn't.

I also needed to take care of the development issue. Once people figured out the benefits of the game, they would definitively run to the developers and demand many things and I couldn't have that.

I wanted the game to grow naturally, meaning I didn't want to build the game myself, so I made sure that once the game launched the developer and everyone who participated in the creation of the game would die and have a copy of their consciousness keep working on the game.

In a way, I was damning them to work on and improve the game continuously but if I was happy with their work and deemed the game fully developed, I will set them free and allow them to finally pass on.

A week passed quickly and the day of the game launch finally came, even Ianara was awake and that was a feat to behold.

The moment we set our VR helmets on, we all appeared on top of a calm water surface with golden letters floating in front of us.

[Welcome to YGGDRASIL

The game will start in 00:23:22

Please select a Name]

''Ur'gazoth'' I didn't care about my username but since I was going to build the House of Ur'gazoth here, I might as well call give on my last name

[Name available

Please choose a Race

Race is divided into three categories

Humanoid, Demi-Human, and Heteromorphic

This choice is irreversible and may affect your starting point

Choose wisely]

Obviously, I will choose Heteromorph

Instantly a huge list of races and sub-races appeared in front of me, luckily I already had a good idea of how I would play this game.

I choose Golem

[Are you sure you want to select Golem?

This choice will be irreversible]

Yes

[Golem selected

Click on the icon on your bottom left to view your status]

I clicked on the icon at the bottom left of my field of view and my status appeared, how long has it been since I called up my own status?

[STATUS (1/4)

Username: Ur'gazoth

Level: 0

Title: None

Race: Golem (Lv.0/100)

Class: Unemployed (Lv.0/10)

Sub Class: None (Lv.0/0)

HP: 5/5

MP: 0/0

STR: 4

INT: 0

STA: 2

AGI: 1

DEX: 1

CON: 2

DEF: 3

LUC: 1

Free Stat Points: 0

Condition: Normal]

I instantly saw several similarities as well as changes to the status compared to the original.

From what I could tell, one stat point was still equal to one point from Overlord but because there were more ways to earn these points, the upper limit of 100 was removed.

Unlike before, you now needed to max out your race/class to get a new one and you would unlock Class-related skills and magic as you level up. You could also buy or learn new skills and magic without having to level up as long as you have the required class.

Classes were also divided into tiers, each tier gave better skills/magic and status points than the previous tier, making it a waste of time to change into an equal or even lower-tier class.

You did however have to start from the bottom tier (1) and weren't allowed to skip tier. Every time you changed classes, you would be given a choice between previous unchosen classes, stronger versions of your current class, potentially a new class if you meet the requirements, and if you complete a hidden quest, a hidden class.

Race advancement worked similarly, just with way fewer choices. You couldn't choose lower-tier races, you could choose between a stronger version of this race or a hidden one if you completed the needed quest.

My current race had these stats

[RACE: Golem (Heteromorphic)

Level: 0/100

Tier: 1 (normal)

Element: Stone

Stats per Level

+5 HP

+0 MP

+4 STR

+0 INT

+2 STA

+1 AGI

+1 DEX

+2 CON

+3 DEF

+1 LUC]

It was pretty clear that just maxing this race was enough for me to break the former 100 max limit and make me the strongest if I was placed in the original Overlord.

*******

A/N- Writing these stats and remembering them will take longer than actually writing but it its strangely fun
