Chapter 24 - Hogwarts

First Pov

I was currently standing in front of the Hogwarts express, waiting for all the people before me to get in. Not much has happened over the last few weeks, the only thing worth mentioning was that Professor Sprout brought me to St. Mungo for them to heal my muteness only to ultimately fail, what they didn´t know however was that they came surprisingly close to is several times. I had already scanned all my books and made a copy of them in my library because I was planning to mainly use my grimoire to read. I liked being mysterious, so I was planning on temporally adding the books content on the pages of my grimoire, the thought of peoples faces when they see me not only use one book for all subjects but also when they realize that they could neither touch, open or read the book.

After a while, I finally found an empty cabin, I sat down and summoned my grimoire, called up some Potioneering chapters and started reading. A few minutes later, the door opened again and a boy around my age looked around ''Hello, can I sit here?'' I just looked at him before going back to reading. He stood there for a few moments expecting an answer, until he realized that he wasn´t getting any and just sat on the seat furthest from me.

The rest of the ride was relatively undisturbed, if you ignore that guy constantly trying to start a conversation with me. At some point I just started changing into the school uniform because I didn´t know when we would arrive, the sheep that he was he immediately mimicked me. I caught him stealing a few glances at my book to see what I was reading, only for him to see me looking at black, blank pages inside a black book.

When we finally arrived at Hogsmeade, I saw him going to the other end of the crowd, probably to get away from a weirdo like me. At the front of the group I could easily spot the half-giant Hagrid, calling all first years to him. He then brought us to the lake and told us to board the boats in pairs of four. The boat trip was rather slow and everyone was looking in the distance, looking if they could see the castle. I however was looking into the lake while in thought, I really wanted to live at the bottom of the sea at some point, let´s just say that the view you could get in subnautica was fantastic, so fantastic even that I was seriously considering if I should join slitherin. After a bit of thought I still decided against it, the view simply wasn´t worth being harassed by stuck up brats for seven entire years, I could simply go diving in the lake whenever I felt like it. I could actually choose freely in what house I was going to be sorted because I had created a false mind around my real one, just like with my soul, and I could choose what personality that mind was going to show. I was pretty set on Ravenclaw, just because it was the most peaceful environment and actually fit in there, I did seek knowledge but I wasn´t courageous, reckless, loyal or ambitious, well maybe a little ambitious. Also, I just remembered, if Hogwarts Legacy was real then I was definitely going to travel back in time to get that juicy ancient magic from underneath Hogwarts later on.

We were now standing in front of the door to the grand hall, waiting for McGonagall to finally finish her speech and let us in, so that we could start the sorting ceremony. The moment the vice headmaster opened the door, I was greeted by one of the worst songs I´ve ever heard, how could the teachers even allow such a torture, am I the only sane person here? Don´t answer that, it was a joke, there is obviously no sane person in this castle. Only after a couple minutes of torture did McGonagall start calling names.

I was one of the last persons to be called because R was relatively late in the alphabet. As I was sitting on the chair and trying my best to not throw that filthy thing from my head, I was having a conversation with that ancient piece of wardrobe inside my fake mind. I showed him some memories of living on the street, including some fake once that showed me actually eating and sleeping, as well as my desire for knowledge and an ambition to get all knowledge no matter how taboo or difficult, so it wasn´t surprising when I heard it shout 'Ravenclaw'. A lot of people were clapping, even thought most didn´t mean it and were just doing it because everyone else was doing it, as I was walking to the Ravenclaw table.

The sorting ceremony ended soon after and we first years were now being led to our dorm by a prefect. He showed us around a bit, before explaining how the door to the group room opened, I would probably have to wait for others to say the password if I'm not alone and if I am, I can just use key magic to open the door. All our luggage was already delivered to the rooms we were to stay in and we just had to find it.
