Shogi looked at his mother giving the go ahead to begin as she drew the lines all over his body she began to speak and said " You will feel large sums of mana leaving your body and feel real weak, As the mana is being drained you must go through a cleansing process. I already have the brew ready and this is what you will drink for the whole process " Upon completing this sentence she finished the lines all over his body drawing an infinity symbol inside of a ring". The first day was the most intense as he became hungry and extremely fatigued. If he didn't have the poison resistance ability he would have thought his beloved mother had poisoned him. Shogi's mother just looked at him affectionately as she combed through his hair with her fingers saying "I know it feels unbearable but it will be worth it when you see the results. I remember when I was a young elf I had to do this and I thought I was dying bear with it." The first week felt like he was constantly being destroyed looking forward to every brew like it was the best thing he ever had. The 2nd week he began to hallucinate and hear voices. The wall would break down into geometric patterns but when he blinked it would go back to normal. The final day he felt great and was so happy to see the patterns leave his body. This was the most crucial point as Shogi's mom prepared a place for him to lay down. Shogi's mom only had enough time to say " I love you".
Shogi's body went limp as he blasted through an indescribable tunnel. Shogi opened his eyes and was in a room with walls that looked spectral and smokey as if everything was one cloud that could dissipate at any moment. Everything looked amazing and vivid with nothing in the room having a sense of permanence. While Shogi was marveling a voice said "this is beautiful isn't it". Shogi saw a figure smokily appearing before him as he vanished from place to place studying Shogi. The figure developed a more solid form as the figure spoke it solidified more. "You are not of this world for certain. You smell of the divine." Shogi leaned in still not certain if the being before him was real or not. Shogi said "what do you mean?" shogi then waved his hand through the figure and his hand went through the figure like smoke reconstructing instantly. The figure looked visibly irritated and said "Please do not do that again. Oh, how impertinent of me. I am Superbian The God of Pride and to answer your question your soul has an unquestionable glow that is like a safety tag allowing us gods to know that you're sent from the divine on a mission. Your what us gods call a herald for the divine. Your soul works a tad bit differently." Shogi questioned Superbian "I don't understand anything that your trying to tell me." Superbian examined Shogi more and said "Of course, yes, yes it makes perfect sense now your memories are sealed and you do not even know that you're working for the divine. I cannot give you the answers you seek but what I can do is give you insight on who you are." Shogi said "I know exactly who I am." Superbian laughed and said "Sure you do" as he shoved Shogi, Shogi's body got wrapped up in the smoke as he fell and watched the environment turn into a cave like atmosphere.
Shogi didn't understand what he was supposed to do. Only one thing could be done, which was to put one foot in front of the other until he heard a booming sound. It sounded like explosions and swords clamoring. Shogi stealthily approached the noises and discovered a demon fighting with a Chaos beast as they both stabbed each other. The chaos beast faded away while the demon constantly lost blood. Shogi approached this scene with caution as the demon pointed at a pouch that had something in it. Shogi went over to the pouch and said "Is this what you want?" Shogi fiddled around in the pouch until he pulled out a red potion. The Demon weakly reached for the potion but was too weak to extend any further. The demon looked exactly like a regular person except 2 small horns that came out of the demon's head. The demon appeared to be a young boy the same age as Shogi. Shogi knew demons weren't evil according to the information the system gave him but the history from Earth and Terrace painted demons as vile vicious savages so it was hard to want to help. With every second Shogi delayed the demon's chances of survival decreased. Shogi looked at the vial and said what am I doing? This person hasn't done anything wrong to me and walked over emptying the contents of the potion down the demon's throat. The demon was still visibly fatigued from the combat. The demon began to speak to Shogi but it all sounded like gibberish until Spirit talk activated and Shogi could hear the remainder of the demon's words " of course you don't speak the Demon beast language. No one does." Shogi spoke to the Demon saying "I understand you" The demon beamed in delight saying "really this is awesome. I'm Jahlal" Shogi said "I'm Shogi" Jahlal said "there are others ahead in this cave but they are all guarded by a Chaos beast. I will not force you to aid me but any help to get the others would be appreciated." Shogi nodded his head and said "I will help you"
The chains of a door can be heard dropping as the next level becomes available. In this room a human can be seen in a cage guarded by a Chaos beast that looked like a fire wolf bear hybrid. Shogi looked at Jahlal and said "That beast looks really strong ". Jahlal said " I know but death is certain for those captured. My freedom means nothing without my friends being at my side." Jahlal initiated the offensive against the creature saying "Ice lance" Throwing a lance made of Ice at the Chaos beast and upon impact that part of the Chaos beast was frozen solid. Jahlal then said "Frost eater" summoning a frozen ax in his hand. The beast roared as it blasted a heat wave as Jahlal who got blown back but Shogi jumped out catching him thinking what did I just get myself into. Shogi said "Holy armor" sprinting to get closer to the Chaos beast as it blasted flames and watched Shogi run straight through its attacks finally decided to bite at Shogi as Shogi instinctively lifted up his hands projecting a shield of light with this extra time given to him Shogi said Ice Mana blast putting 200 mana into the skill. Causing the creature to bleed and slowly be turned into Ice even freezing the blood. Shogi relaxed for a second as his Holy armor faded, smiling. All Shogi heard was "duck" and a loud whistling sound was coming at him. It was the Frost eater Jahlal had in his hands. Shogi only had enough time to tilt his head to the side for a little allowing the Ax to scratch his cheek as the Chaos beast exploded with pieces flying everywhere in a heat wave. The blood dripped down Shogi's cheek as he felt it and he wondered if this was real or an illusion. Jahlal ran up to him and said " Shogi are you alright. I'm so sorry the beast was about to explode and catch you off guard" Shogi just stumbled forward and sat down as he just thought about the fact that he almost died. Jahlal said "I'm sorry, honestly please forgive me." A voice could be heard "excuse me I'd hate to be a bother but could you two please get me out of this cage before you have that lovely conversation." Shogi looked at Jahlal and said you didn't do anything wrong. A lot of things just surprised me is all." Shogi walked up to the cage as he blasted the doors open with mana he noticed his supply of mana felt endless. A slender girl came out of the cage about the same age as the boys. With a smile as she said "awe thanks I've always wanted to be rescued by a harem of boys" making it obvious it was a joke. Shogi stayed silent but Jahlal just gave a wry smile saying " Your as horrible a joker as ever Erika" Erika looked over at shogi and said "Not in a mood for introductions I see. Well thank you all the same". Shogi looked at her and said "my names Shogi" A familiar sound could be heard as chains dropping to the ground could be heard as the next floor opened.
Shogi looked at everyone as to say come on as he walked towards the door opening it revealing a Chaos beast that looked like medusa as a shout from Jahlal could be heard saying " Don't look into the Darkon's eyes or you will be turned into stone. Shogi closed his eyes activating mana sight Shogi ran forward to challenge the beast as Erika shouted "No, the beast has poison.." Before she could finish Shogi was hit with a poison cloud but it seemed to have no effect on him as Shogi disappeared in the poison cloud and activated swift While Shogi was clashing with the beast he couldn't help but point out it looked like a really ugly half woman half snake. Shogi miscalculated how fast and strong this Darkon was because he got hit with multiple punches to the ribs and face before he could punch and as he swung the Darkon slipped around his punch zipping away. Shogi's Holy armor deactivated and he began to panic and activated it again as he then said "Elemental Spirit of Flames will you aid this child of light this time but this spell was not working". But upon noticing Shogi was struggling to activate his magic the Darkon zipped in and landed another flurry of punches and tried to slip away again except this time Shogi said " Oh no you don't '' slamming his foot on the Darkon's tail. Punching the beast in the spine not allowing it to move again until he punched the head with a loud crunching sound as the jaw was broken off of the Darkon's face but it was still alive Shogi said mana blast Fire. Causing a huge explosion even bigger than intended. Shogi looked back, scared his new friends would get caught in the blast. But he saw a tall tower Ice shield protecting them and was relieved.
Jahlal just gave a thumbs up from behind the shield as he said " We're alright. The poison fire combo made for a banger." Shogi said "I'm just glad you all are ok". They walked up to the cage together when Jahlal said "I don't recognize you" and it was a Dwarf wearing a bandanna.
