Honestly, Jack didn't know how he hadn't noticed the head in the bowl until after he pulled the note out and read it. Had the note been stuck in its teeth? Or beside the head? Or....could someone have sneaked in, left with only seconds before Jack and Oliver turned around, and placed it there? Was that possible? No. No, it couldn't be. Harley would've seen something. She was the only one facing the open door. And she would've said something. She would've told them. Jack knew her too well to be thinking like that. And Ann would've scolded him and gave him a smack upside the head if he suggested Harley was thick as thieves with the murder. Or murders. Could there be more than one? Or was this a solo job? Could it be someone he knew? Or someone he had never heard of? Possibly. And the style of Ann's murder....it could've been the same as Alex's, killed in plain sight, but never seeing who did it. Then again, it could be different. And he had no way of knowing which was true. "Hey, Jack! Earth to Jack!" But he didn't listen. He was lost in his thoughts. Could they even make it out? Would they be able to phone the police if they did? "HEY!" A sharp and searing pain to the back of his head dragged him back to reality. He jerked back, scowling, and asked, "What!?" Surprisingly, Oliver had smacked him, and now, he was raising an eyebrow in confusion and concern. "I asked how much time we had left." Harley said, crossing her arms. But she wasn't mad. "About twenty minutes. Where are we at now?" "Almost done. Two more clues."
