Detective William, accompanied by Elvis and Joe, arrived at Adenta prison, where all the inmates were efficiently gathered with the prison officers who were present with them during their work.
Commencing his investigation, Detective William initially interviewed the Two farmers who had discovered the lifeless body. Subsequently, he approached the trio of prison officers-Godfred, Eugene, and Rema-who asserted that they had been on the bus throughout the inmates' work period, only leaving momentarily to procure food for the incarcerated individuals.
With an established alibi from the prison officers, whom inmates reported seeing in the vacant bus during their work, Detective William swiftly cleared them from suspicion. Turning his attention to the multitude of inmates who had worked that day, he found it impractical to investigate each one individually. Collaborating with the prison officers, they identified the group the deceased prisoner was associated with. Gathering the implicated individuals, Detective William summoned them for further inquiry.
Following thorough inquiries into each individual, Detective William opted to isolate Jesse for more focused questioning. "You are the newly arrived individual under scrutiny for murder, correct?" inquired the detective. Jesse nodded in acknowledgment. "Every line of questioning led me back to you, implicating you as the primary suspect," Detective William stated, scrutinizing the bewildered expression on Jesse's face.
"Information suggests that after your meal, you accompanied the deceased to a secluded area near the bushes while others boarded the bus. Furthermore, it's noted that you joined the bus later and were alone. You're the last person seen with him. Now, enlighten me about what transpired," Detective William pressed, his tone unwavering, extracting the truth from the perplexed Jesse.
Jesse sat in stunned silence, unable to utter a single word as he stared down at the floor. The unfolding events seemed surreal to him, and a sense of disbelief enveloped him.
Detective William, losing his composure, raised his voice, urging Jesse to break his silence. Tears streamed down Jesse's face, his emotions overcoming him. "Crying won't aid your case. Speak up, or we'll resort to more coercive measures to extract the truth," Detective William sternly declared.
Amidst the persistent silence, Detective William abruptly left the interrogation room. As he exited, Jesse, overwhelmed by the weight of the situation, finally let his tears flow freely.
Later, Detective William returned with two imposing figures - guards recognized by Jesse as the night sentinels of the prison. As they approached, Jesse's heart raced, his eyes widening in anticipation of what would unfold.
"Now, speak up," Detective William commanded in a harsh tone, but Jesse's pounding heart drowned out the detective's words. "This is your last chance," Detective William warned menacingly, met with continued silence from Jesse. In response, Detective William motioned to the two imposing figures.
The dark-built man with visible veins approached slowly, followed by the tall, stern-faced companion. As the tension escalated, the dark man delivered a powerful slap that left Jesse disoriented, rendering him momentarily unable to see or comprehend.
As the detective's phone rang, he signalled the imposing men to pause. "Yes," he answered, After placing the phone at a distance, Detective William instructed the imposing men, "Prepare him to talk before I return." The urgency in his tone conveyed the critical need to extract information from Jesse as he got out of the room to continue his call.
On the other end of the line was Detective Elena, now informed of the unfolding situation.
"So, Jesse again," Detective Elena inquired after Detective William recounted the details. "He's not going to talk. I got nothing out of him during the interrogation," she explained.
"Well, you didn't apply enough pressure to extract the information," Detective William responded.
"Are you resorting to violence?" questioned Detective Elena on the other side.
"Yes, he's the prime suspect. All the questioning and pieces of evidence all point to him. It is left with the confirmation of fingerprints then I can confidently label him as the murderer," Detective William asserted.
"This is risky, William. You have to be careful," Detective Elena cautioned before ending the call.
As he re-entered the room, the atmosphere was charged with palpable tension. Jesse, now conscious but visibly shaken, with few injuries stared at Detective William with a mixture of fear and defiance. The detective, steeling himself for what lay ahead, faced the two men, "Enough. We need to handle this within the boundaries of the law. Take him to the prison's hospital, but ensure he doesn't escape."
The stern face man nodded, acknowledging the shift in approach. As they assisted Jesse, Detective William couldn't ignore the internal conflict between justice and the ethical pursuit of the truth, a conflict that continued to unfold within the walls of Adenta prison.
In the serene ambience of an opulent residence, a middle-aged, bald gentleman in his mid-fifties stood before a crystalline azure pool, where cascading fountains gracefully returned water to its depths. The bald man adjusted his medicated spectacles with a deliberate touch, his gaze fixed in contemplation on an indistinct point in the distance.
Clad in an exquisite suit that bespoke sophistication, he cradled a glass of wine in his left hand, the deep hues of the liquid mirroring the musings that occupied his mind. The ambient lighting around the pool rendered the scene enchanting, casting a captivating glow on the meticulously designed surroundings.
The resonance of his phone's ring pierced through the tranquil atmosphere, interrupting the man's reverie. Retrieving the vibrating device, he answered with a velvety-smooth voice, "Yes." A subtle smile played on his lips in response to the conversation on the other end.
"Ah, Particle, he will go to any lengths, I assure you," the man affirmed, a smirk forming as he listened to the details exchanged. "That's precisely why I advocated for his involvement from the outset. You now witness the wisdom in my counsel," he stated with deliberate emphasis.
A contemplative hum echoed through the phone as the man absorbed the information. "Well, in a month, I believe everything will conclude," he revealed with a sly smirk, leaving an air of anticipation hanging in the conversation. With that, he gracefully ended the call, his enigmatic smile lingering, and entered his lavishly appointed apartment, leaving the picturesque scene around the pool to silently witness the unfolding intricacies of his carefully orchestrated plans.
