Chereads / Falling For The Hot C.E.O / Chapter 9 - CHAPTER NINE

Chapter 9 - CHAPTER NINE

When Edward said there were clothes in the guest bedroom closet, I wasn't expecting much.

I expected a couple of dresses and a few accessories.

But there was way more than a couple of dresses.

There was a whole row of dresses.

From floor length gowns to cocktail dresses. And the fabric and colors were all gorgeous.

They all had designer labels.

Gucci, Valentino, Ralph Lauren, Versace, Prada, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Chanel and many more.

How did he get these clothes?

I mean, I know he's rich but this is a little excessive.

Then, my eyes fell on the shoe rack.

There were at least hundred pairs of shoes.

I have never seen so many shoes in my life.

All were rich and expensive brands.

How was that possible?

Who keeps all this stuff in a guest bedroom?

Did he have a wife?

No. He told me he was single.

No wife, no kids, no girlfriend.

Maybe, he had a sister. Maybe she was out of town and she left all her clothes here.

But why was it all my size?

"Stop thinking Bella. Just take the clothes and accessories and get ready for the damn party." I mumbled to myself.

I had to find a dress. A dress for the party. And quick.

I was in a dilemma.

All the dresses were beautiful.

But I couldn't decide on a particular dress.

I tried on a few, but I didn't like them.

There was one particular dress that caught my eye though.

It was a black Versace dress.

It had a high slit and it was backless.

The bodice was a little tight and had a plunging neckline.

I wasn't sure if I was brave enough to wear this. It looked so exquisite and sexy. The kind of dress that could turn heads.

The color was perfect for a night party.

Black.

And the price tag was hanging from the front.

"Fuck!" I yelled.

It was an original Versace dress, worth $10,000.

I can't put on a dress worth 10k. It was not possible.

What if something happens to it? I couldn't pay for it.

I shook my head.

I didn't belong here. I belonged on the streets.

"Why the hell are you yelling?" I could hear Edward's voice from outside the room.

I quickly slipped on the dress, almost falling down a few times.

I took a deep breath and looked at myself in the mirror.

"Wow." I whispered underneath my breath.

It was breathtaking.

I looked like a million dollars.

The dress fit me perfectly.

I had a flat stomach, and my curves were accentuated.

The dress hugged my figure like a second skin.

And the backless look gave the perfect view of my cleavage.

I had to blink a few times to be sure.

That woman in the mirror was me.

"Open the door, Bella. We are running late." Edward demanded.

"Coming."

I walked to the door and opened it.

As soon as Edward saw me, he stopped dead in his tracks.

His eyes seemed to be bulging out of his eye sockets.

"Hi." I said, as I nervously played with my fingers.

"What do you think of the dress? How do I look?" I asked.

"Wow. You look…." He ran his hand through his hair and looked away.

"Good." He blurted out.

"Good?" I asked.

I expected him to say, I looked beautiful, gorgeous, stunning. Not good.

He was not really good with words.

"Yeah. Your makeup is nice." He added.

"I am not wearing makeup." I folded my arms and looked at him.

"You are not wearing makeup. Wow." He shook his head.

"You actually look beautiful when you're not acting crazy ." He said, with a smirk.

"Acting Crazy?" I glared at him.

"Yes. You do that a lot. Yell, make weird assumptions like when you accused me of being a stalker and a psychopath. You need to stop." He said.

"What I need to stop is being in your company, Mr Cullen. You are the biggest jerk on this planet." I spat out.

"Okay. We are going to have a deal. If you can behave nicely, then I will let you off the hook. But if you yell or make weird assumptions, then you have to pay me, $100 per incident." He said while adjusting his tie.

I shot him a dirty look. Who the hell did he think he was?

I mean, he looked absolutely gorgeous in his well-fitted double-breasted suit. And the way he styled his hair backwards. Slick and stylish.

"So what do you say, Isabella? Will you behave nicely, or will I have to charge you $100 per incident."

"You wish. You know, your face is very punchable." I hissed.

"There you go again. That will cost you $200." He smirked.

I had enough.

"Do you know what, I can't. This is stupid. I can't be your escort. I can't accompany to any stupid event. I might just end of committing a murder. Goodbye, Mr Cullen." I huffed and stormed towards the exit.

"Isabella." Edward called, and I stopped in my tracks.

"Daniel will be there. At the party. It's for all my employees and their plus ones. Imagine showing up in that sexy dress and Daniel's jaw dropping. It will give him a taste of what he's missing. Plus, it will make him regret dumping you. Don't you want that?"

I turned and looked at him.

It was true. I wanted Daniel to see me in this beautiful dress. And regret dumping me. I wanted to shove it in his face.

"So what do you say, Isabella? Do you want to come with me, or do you want to sit in your apartment and mope around, thinking about the jerk that cheated on you?" Edward asked.

And for the first time, his tone was soft and gentle.

I didn't know why but I trusted him. I didn't know why, but I knew I was safe with him.

He wouldn't hurt me.

"Fine." I smiled. "Let's do this."
