Chapter 2 - Lifeless

<> *****************************************************************************************************"Please, y..you can't leave me like this....please ",Davina's voice faded as she stood in the cold room. She felt weak from crying and her legs were slightly shaking. Everyone one was gone, every single person she loved and cared about. If anyone told her yesterday that the town she had grown up in was going to be burnt down into nothingness, she would have given that someone some silver coins to meet the village doctor. 

 She had lived in Vespia with her parents and her brother, Ryan. Most of the people were nice and very polite. There were times where the villagers would organize parties and young men would ask the young maidens in gowns for a dance. Quite a peaceful village she had grew up in.

Her father, Mr. Simeon Curtis was a woodcutter and her mother, Mrs Emily Curtis was the village seamstress. Davina used to help her sew little fabrics together whilst Ryan helped father to carry logs from the forest. They weren't rich but they had each other and that was enough,her mom used to say. 

She had grown up into a pretty 18 year old girl with good manners in this town. Almost everyone in the village took part in raising her to be a 'beautiful angel' as most of them used to call her. She had made friends, and even found someone she liked. Frederick Hubert was a gentleman with a calm presence and decent features. He was the son of the village's baker ,Mr Hubert who's baked the finest pastries. Her mother usually sent her to buy some bread and that is how they had met. The young man had taken an interest in her for the past few weeks and had invited her for the Lantern party at the White rivers tonight.He wasn't rich but she could have taken care of her if they got married in the future. She wanted a simple family after all. She had planned to go to the party.The whole village was going to be there....but who knew the whole village would be burnt down!

The witches had attacked the village when she went to the stream to get some water. She had dropped her container when she saw her village. Davina entered houses but found only burnt bodies. With the immense fear building up in her shaky heart, she finally went to her house, praying that her family was alright.

Entering the room she covered her mouth at what she saw. 'No..no', she whispered out as she saw her family . She saw the axe marks on her father's body as it seemed like he tried to protect his wife and son. Mama had an arrow pierced through her forehead and little Ryan was headless.Their faces were disfigured and some parts of their bodies were terribly burnt that she could see the bones. She couldn't recognize them. She felt beyond weak, beyond bitter beyond every word used to describe pain and anguish. She couldn't believe what she was seeing no, she didn't want her believe. She momentarily broke down to the ground as tears fell freely from her emerald eyes. She felt lifeless, as the village that was once so lively was now lifeless. << Hi guys, so what do you think about the first chapter? Please send your comments.
