Chereads / Macabre / Chapter 2 - Eira

Chapter 2 - Eira

She knew something was off but she had to figure out what. With these thoughts she started advancing towards her destination. Entering her house, she went straight to her room to put her stuff. After putting her stuff away and freshing up, she went straight to the kitchen to make herself some iced coffee. She took out the coffee which was to be grounded. She made herself a glass of Iced Mocha. She loved iced coffees. She loved how they turned her insides cold and sweet. She loved how cold things didn't burn her tongue unlike hot things and due to this she could take a good taste of whatever she was eating and could enjoy it to the fullest. She loved warm things too heck she loved the word warmth. To her it was such a beautiful word. But she always lacked warmth and so to diverge her mind she started liking cold things and acting non chalant about warm things, giving the impression she was better off with cold things and didn't like warm things too aside from hot things. And like this she found solace in cold but there was always this longing in her for warmth that only she knew of. As she was drinking her coffee the door opened revealing her Mother.

"Eira, honey! What are you doin here? You are supposed to be in your room studying."

Her name was Eira. She was snow, beautiful and delicate. Like her name she was a healer. She had the power to heal the souls except her own. Only if she could heal her soul but she could only bandage herself, she still bleeded for days. She couldn't heal herself properly. What was the use of her healing, if she couldn't heal herself. And if she couldn't heal herself how could she heal others. She doubted she was a healer. How could she heal others, when she herself was full of bandages that too not proper. Nobody gave her enough time to do the bandaging of her soul properly and so nobody gave her enough time to heal. That's why she never healed. She didn't ask to be a healer. She never wanted to be one. Why was she one?She wasn't one. She couldn't be. She was adamant that she was not a healer. Infact to everyone she was opposite of it. She was cursed and weird and what not. And so Eira refused to believe she was a healer. She could never be one. She could never heal others. How was she supposed to do that? Her soul itself was full of scars and bruises. And only if she could heal herself, she could heal others. There was no other way around. She shrugged her shoulders and signalled towards her coffee with her siren eyes. She had beautiful hazel doe eyes. The one that had sparkles in it but surprisingly her eyes weren't sparkly now. They were when she was a child but now it was as if the sparkle got lost like her inner child. One could still see sparkles in her eyes on rare occasions but none cared for those sparkles. She had big doe eyes but ironically her does eyes changed into siren ones as she grew older. Her doe eyes still appeared at times but at times only. On watching her coffee, her mom said nonchalantly:

"Oh ok! Finish that quickly and get back to study. Don't waste your time roaming lazily around the house."

She could sense the so done tune in her mother's voice. Her Mom went straight to her room after saying this. She walked to her room with her coffee in one hand. She didn't want a lecture and insults. Entering her room, she walked towards her window. She adored her room's windows. She could look out at people enjoying themselves and enjoy fresh breeze from her windows. She could enjoy eye-soothing greenary in spring and summer and brown fallen leaves in autumn. From her window she could see Mr. & Mrs. Ward's house and something was unusual about it. Something was off or maybe it was just her.
