Chapter 3 - Lucy

She saw Mr & Mrs. Ward enjoying each other's company. Their dog was constantly barking, it just won't stop. Their caretaker was trying to handle that. It was a sheltie with a friendly personality. It was a female dog, was a good company for Mrs.Ward when Mr. Ward was not around. Mrs. Ward loved her a lot. She was treated with great love and care. Mrs Ward was very fond of her. She was named Lucy. Mrs. Ward named it Lucy because she said she is the light of her life. But she'd mostly call her Luce with adoration. It was gifted to her by Mr. Ward on her 36th birthday.

Eira remembered when she first saw Lucy, it was just an adorable lil pup. Eira was head over heels with that little thing. She still could see her younger self being fascinated by that little pup. She even offered herself to Mrs. Ward as a free caretaker for that little golden puppy. She'd go to Mrs. Ward's home at evening to visit her small friend. She was obsessed with Luce. She saw Mrs. Ward calling it Luce instead of Lucy and little Eira started calling her Luce too. In no time, She was attached with Lucy. Lucy loved her too but grew more fond of Eira's younger sister, Angus, which angered and hurt little Eira's emotion. Eira didn't like her little friend giving more attention to anybody else.

Eira saw Lucy first. Eira was Lucy's first friend. She was the one who played with Lucy even after being tired of a whole day of School, extra classes, homework and other activities. She was the one who stood in front of her when Lucy was terrified of a big dog that came into their neighborhood accidently. Eira was the one who ran after Luce and scratched her knee pretty bad after she ran away because of being terrified. Eira was the one who consoled Luce and took her home even after being scratched badly. Eira was the one who sat beside her for hours when she was ill. How could Luce forget her like that? What actually caused her heart to ache was her sister, Angus, who would taunt her a lot about it. Angus would flaunt how Lucy loved her more than Eira even though she didn't put as much efforts as Eira did yet she was Lucy's favorite. Angus would brag about it all the time in front of their friends, at school, at home, in front of their nanny, in front of their Parents and literally everyone. If she could, she'd even brag about it to the passerbys. Little Eira felt jealous and betrayed and so she decided she won't go to Lucy anymore. Eira saw her Luce getting more & more attached to Angus.Tho Lucy would run for her too but lil Eira wanted Lucy to notice her in presence of her friends and everyone and specially in presence of Angus. Eira was jealous and so to erase this jealousy, Eira decided to cut off the thing which caused it. Eira stopped going to Lucy.

Eira saw Mrs. Ward stand up and walk towards Lucy to calm her down. She sat beside her and petted her with utter care and love. Eira could see the Shetland Sheepdog with a beautiful long fur of black and sable with white markings calm down under Mrs. Ward's caress. Eira could see the dog grunting lowly in her guardians embrace but she was calming down. Mrs. Ward took Lucy with her to where she was sitting previously. After petting the Sheltie a bit more she was once again engrossed in conversation with Mr. Ward. Eira didn't saw both of them together much but she knew they both loved each other a lot.
