Sitting at the table was a man dressed in an expensive fancy suit and tie, with a golden Rolex on his wrist. He had a pair of glasses and a few golden rings on his hands. His entire get-up was properly more expensive than his house.
He had short brown hair with a quiff at the front a well-kept goatee and brown eyes. He was around average height and had his leg over the other. He took a sip of his tea and placed it back on the table before standing back up and walking towards Peter.
Aunt May snapped "Language!" looking quite infuriated at Peter's response.
"It's ok Miss May, Teens are always like this, boisterous little demons aren't they," said the man. "Jeez, maybe little isn't the right word. Are you trying to get into the NBA or what, you're taller than me and you're what? 14?".
"Yeah, I am" replied Peter nervously. "Excuse me but why are you here Mr Stark?"
"You'll find out don't worry and just call me Tony," he responded.
"OK Tony" Peter replied.
"Never mind, I prefer Mr Stark. It just rolls off the tongue better don't you think" he said while walking up the stairs. "What are you waiting for, take me to your room, office whatever so we can talk business" looking directly at Peter.
Peter was stunned and completely baffled. What the hell was going on today? He got a date with someone he usually could only dream to talk to and now Tony fucking Stark was in his house to talk business? There's no way he knows he's Spider-Man, right? He made sure no one saw him.
"erhhhh, sure just give me a minute" Peter replied and started to walk up the stairs squeezing past Stark and showing him to his room.
Peter opened the door and showed Stark in. Stark fixed up his suit and took a look around the room "Nice poster, I'm also a fan" he said while looking at Peter's Iron Man and Tony Stark Posters.
Peter walked in between them to stop him from looking quite flustered and embarrassed. "What do you want to talk about?" he questioned.
"You're the weird suited-up Spider thing right, I forgot what you call yourself," Stark said.
"Firstly it's Spider-Man and second I have no idea what you're talking about," replied Peter.
"Ok, Spider-Man then. Must say I also didn't expect a 14-year-old to kick the ass of a man who bends lightning like he was from Avatar, pretty cool stuff," said Tony.
"I don't follow" Peter responded, starting to sweat quite a bit. He was quite nervous and wasn't sure how he was supposed to convince the genius of his generation he wasn't a Spider-powered crime fighter.
"Your effort to try to play this off is admirable. No matter how bad you're acting skills are, don't expect an Oscar any time soon" Stark replied sitting down on Peter's bed.
"Fine I'm Spider-Man, just don't tell anyone, especially Aunt May she would murder me. Also, can I get an autograph?" asked Peter.
"Sure, If you accept my request. Though it is a win-win for both of us really" replied Stark.
"Sweet. But what type of request are we talking about and how did you find out my identity?" wondered Peter.
"Really? It wasn't exactly hard to figure it out. You do realize cameras are a thing right? When you sneaked your way out of the school a camera caught you swinging to a rooftop for the Spider or whatever to suddenly leave the same place. Using my facial recognition software I figured out it was Peter Parker. I know I'm a genius no need to tell me" answered Stark.
"Well that doesn't help my confidence" replied Peter.
"No worries Kid, You're smart but you ain't no Tony Stark," said Stark.
"Did you mention yourself in the third person?" responded Peter.
"When you're a genius multi-billionaire you can do these things," said Stark.
"What about the request you mentioned?" Peter questioned wondering what it could be.
"Well for the tryouts, every member of the Avengers needs to recommend someone to take part and I decided to go with you. So what do you say Spider thing? Want to be part of the best superhero team in the world?" said Stark standing up and putting out his hand for Peter.
"What?" said Peter trying to compute what was just said. "Are you sure? You don't even know my superhero name and now you want me to be your candidate for the Avengers. You're joking" said Peter.
"Listen, kid. You showed some real gusto facing the walking battery and I think you have potential" responded Stark.
"Really?" asked Peter. Praise from his idol made him feel all good inside and he was ready to commit terrorism for Stark if he asked.
"No. All the other possibilities are complete tools and couldn't even help an old lady cross the street and all the other good ones are already chosen and you were the best one remaining," replied Stark.
"Thanks. I guess?" replied Peter.
"No problem kid" responded Stark placing a hand on Peter's shoulder. "You want to do this or not?".
"I mean sure but how do I explain this to the school or my Aunt?" asked Peter.
"I can just say you showed promise and I want to give you a chance or something, or just give them a load of money either option seems to be fine," Stark said.
"Then, absolutely I'd love to give it a try," said Peter.
"Nice. Saving my skin here kid. Rogers just wouldn't stop talking last year when I didn't recommend anyone." replied Stark.
"Who's Rogers?" asked Peter curiously.
"Don't worry about it. You'll find out if you get on the team" said Stark.
"Wait. One question" asked Peter.
"I was hoping we could just leave it at that, but sure. It is nice doing charity work once in a while" replied Stark.
"Can a 14-year-old even join the Avengers? I mean that seems like a massive legal issue like child abuse or child labor." thought Peter.
"Oh, it'll be fine just got to give the government a new thingamajig and they'll let it go. The only issue would be to convince some of the other members but I'm sure that'll be fine. Just use your Spider charm to make them like you or hypnotize them. That's something a Spider can do, probably."
"That seems highly illegal" replied Peter.
"It's not if you don't get caught" replied Stark.
"That seems like awful advice," replied Peter.
Stark fixed up his tie getting ready to leave the room and said "By the way, I'll have a helicopter bring you over to Stark Industries on Monday".
"Really!" exclaimed Peter.
"I know I know, I'm amazing. See you around kid," said Stark before making his way downstairs to leave the house. On his way out he told Aunt May "Really nice tea dear, it was wonderful" while holding her hands before leaving.
He stood on the sidewalk for a while when a metal suit flew down to the ground and opened up. Stark entered and flew away leaving a black mark on the pavement.
"What is up with today" muttered Peter completely astonished at how his life suddenly turned around.
