It has been a few months since little Rhine was born into this world and he is ever thankful to the system for including what he dubbed the act like a baby mode letting him close his eyes whenever it came time inevitably breastfeed from his by all standards beautiful mother with her brown hair and blue eyes and she of course had more than enough in chest department to not make feeding awkward for Rhine. He had mixed feelings for his mother, Haruka remembering his previous life as well as the fact that some of the first words he heard exchanged between his two parents were arguments between the two parents. He let himself get burped and rocked to sleep as his eyes had started to close and letting out little giggles when Haruka would show a silly face or lightly tickle him. At around three months old he started to get bored of just waiting to be put to sleep and when he was alone with a maid who had dark chocolate skin and pointy ears he pointed at some of the block puzzles as much as he wanted to point at the books he could see in a corner of his vision.
"Aaahh ... Aaabb ... bwock!" He did recall his mother calling it a block as well during one of the many times she had come in to play with him or his father Geralt for that matter when he tried posing to show off his muscles or swing a practice sword around earning him some sort of punishment that his other wives gave him causing him to appear all embarrassed. He would often then switch to offering a finger or trying to make a silly face which more often than not actually scared Rhine even without the baby mode exerting anything often causing maids to rush in and for him to get an audible verbal beatdown for scaring Rhine. It was in those thoughts he forgot that he had forgot he hadn't yet managed to say any words at that point since his rebirth. The maid in the room froze looking back and forth between Rhine and the blocks hesitantly picking the toy set up earning a cry from Rhine who wanted to do just about anything other than think about having ruined his first words possibly for his mother. "Aaahnn ... Bwock!"
Those words confirmed it for the maid and she let out an exasperated sigh and shook her head before showing Rhine how to play with this puzzle and in all his boredom by the time the maid had shown him how to do it correctly five times and the moment she turned away to call for Haruka and maybe Geralt if he wasn't being punished for whatever reason there may be. Turning back around not even half a minute a later the maid saw the puzzle was finished and correctly at that. "I'm seeing things aren't I? Is my half-brother really such a genius?"
The one he had thought was a maid calling him her half brother had caused Rhine to blank out for a second and when he came back to reality he saw one of his many supposed half sisters staring at him. "Ueeehh?" Rhine stared back at her as if he was adamant not to lose until his eyes started to sting, he fell back on the floor with a thud instantly triggering a practical stampede of footfalls with Rhine wailing from the pain to his infantile body. The sounds of the stampede practically marching to his room only had him crying more from all the loud sounds and the door being blasted off of its hinges certainly didn't help as his father Geralt made his attention. "My boy! Is everything alright!" Rhine's wailing had actually stopped for a second at the shock of the loud voice he should of been expecting, but he only wailed even more until the half sister who was in the room with Rhine picked him and cradled him against her rocking him back and forth stunting his tears slightly until his mother, Haruka arrived taking little Rhine into his arms giving him a kiss to the forehead and snuggling against him as his wailing came to an end with his body's vitality having caused him to already recover from the pain. It was at that moment when he heard a ding of his system though the situation kept him from thinking about it.
"Thank you, Siena dear. If only a certain someone could be half as helpful as you are with my little Rhine." Haruka was glaring daggers at Geralt who in a smart decision for once simply turned his head to the side staying silent and not giving a rebuttal. Siena for her part was all smiles as she stared at Rhine. "Aw don't you worry a thing, Rhine is such a little cutie and pretty smart at that. He even just said block before he fell ..." It was only after those words had left Siena's mouth that she felt waves of instant regret considering the person currently holding the little tyke and she might have felt at most a strand of compassion for her Father who including Rhine had given her eighty-seven siblings with only a few not being half siblings. Haruka was without an expression on her face as she kneeled down picked up a block and showed it to Rhine. "What is this my baby Rhine?" Rhine still being shook from all the yelling that had rattled his poor fox ears with them curled over his head only perking up when he heard his mother's voice instantly answered. "Bwock" In the expecting stuttering for a baby though it was as if you could hear many dreams shatter like fallen glasswork and Siena awkwardly looked away wanting no part of this issue. Silence ruled the room for a moments and Rhine started to squirm in Haruka's arms and she turned back to him as he said the correct words this time. "Mama ... bwocks?" His mother immediately had a beaming smile on her face having tuned out or overwritten what his actual first words were immediately kneeling down, setting down Rhine and playing with him, her maternal actions a far cry from when she had been complaining about the deal with Geralt having been broken. Geralt for his matter was feeling left out and kneeling down in front of Rhine giving him a somewhat warmer smile compared to his usual scarier ones by default. "Ba ... Baldy!"
The sound of the block in Haruka's hand dropping to the ground was the only thing that could be heard in the room as Geralt went to sulk in the corner turning around and shedding some tears as both Siena and Haruka started to laugh since Geralt was indeed bald and a few maids had said as such in front of him for trying to seduce them near his room, though Gertalt wasn't all that to blame considering that he was half incubus, yet it didn't save him from being the victim to truly restore the mood of this half sister of his and his mother.
From that day on Rhine had started to include more and more words eventually even managing to say book while pointing first at some kids books and having Siena and Haruka take turns reading them until they eventually let Geralt have a turn who snuck away from his duties as a lord in order to dote on his youngest child. Once his parents had started to become accustomed to Rhine talking it eventually just became Siena reading to him as he quickly got through all the books in his room only to look up at her with teary ears when he Siena dropped the truth about having read every book in the room.
"No ... more ... bwooks?"Those puppy eyes were more than Siena's heart could handle especially after having cared for the little tyke for so long watching him tear through books like it was some of the most fun he had and got permission to take him into the library within the manor even if the libraries in the cities were still off limits. "Tomorrow I can read you all the books you want Rhine. Big Sis is gonna help you all the way!" Those were all the words he needed to hear and after some more breastfeeding from his mother along with being rocked and burped he quickly fell into the land of dreams though not before recalling that system notification and pulling it up only to see the following:
[You have gained the skill Demonic Regeneration.]
Letting out soft groan he let himself be pulled into his much needed sleep from a day chock full of reading and the shock from that notification at the end being the finisher.
