Chapter 57 - Bomb

When the smoke and dust cleared, only the Black Panther, the king, remained standing. The others had been obliterated.

Zane couldn't help but wonder why, in a country with advanced energy weapons, the royal guards still fought with spears. Although these spears could emit energy waves, why not use guns? And even though they had energy shields they did not use them while charging forward like fools.

"What are you?" T'Chaka asked angrily.

"Haven't you said it yourself? I've done all this, isn't it obvious? I am the invader!" Zane looked at T'Chaka as if he were a fool.

T'Chaka was left speechless by Zane's laughter. Unable to comprehend, he stared at Zane, puzzled.

"Enough talk, it's time to send you on your way, Your Majesty."

T'Chaka, facing death, suddenly became incredibly calm. He slowly lifted his head, looking at Zane pointing at his forehead, and spoke:

"You can't kill me, and Wakanda will never be yours."

"Why would that be?" Zane asked curiously, but his actions didn't stop. The fingertip pointing at T'Chaka's forehead began to emit a dazzling light.

"Just because." T'Chaka said confidently, "Under the palace, there is a super bomb made of vibranium. It's directly connected to my brainwaves. As long as I think about it, the bomb will explode, and the whole of Wakanda will disappear. You will also be buried with it."

Listening to T'Chaka's words, Zane felt a sense of satisfaction. This was the worst-case scenario he had been worrying about.

Skynet had not reported back yet, indicating that it hadn't found the super bomb. But it was on its way, responding to T'Chaka's words. Zane had a communicator on him, and T'Chaka's words had been heard by Skynet, rushing towards the location of the super bomb.

"Why should I believe your words? Who knows if you're bluffing?" Zane questioned.

"You can try!" T'Chaka said defiantly.

T'Chaka's triumphant smile made Zane realize that the worst had indeed happened. Skynet had not reported any findings yet, and now Zane had a lever in his hands. As long as he didn't make any rash moves, delaying time was not a problem.

At this moment, Zane's previous companion, the molecular robot Erik, brought an unexpected joy.

Erik was dragging three unconscious people – a white-haired woman and two teenagers – and threw them on the ground. After doing so, Erik walked up to Zane.

"Master, these are the remaining members of the Wakandan royal family."

"Good, very good." Zane nodded approvingly.

T'Chaka, now witnessing the three newcomers, also understood that his wife and children had been brought here.

"Release them now, or I will detonate the bomb and take you down with us," T'Chaka threatened desperately, his fierce gaze fixed on Zane as if trying to devour him alive.

Seeing T'Chaka's panic, Zane became less anxious. Now he had bargaining chips in his hands, and as long as he didn't provoke anything, he could buy more time.

At this moment, the communicator in Zane's arms vibrated. Zane took it out and saw a message on the screen sent by the Skynet:

"Bomb location found, disarmament will take 5 minutes."

Zane put away the communicator, looked at T'Chaka, and seemed impressed. It turned out that this Wakandan King was not entirely useless. He had indeed buried a bomb in his own country, ready to embrace death with the enemy at any moment. This determination was commendable.

Previously, when Zane saw Wakanda's seemingly fragile appearance, hhe had been skeptical about the existence of the super bomb.

"Your Majesty, don't be in such a hurry! We can continue our chat, like why your wife's hair turned white?" Zane's face wore a malicious smile as he glanced at T'Chaka and then at the queen.[1]

"You... nonsense, release them quickly!"

"Well, this is your son, the next Black Panther, right? The young man is really good."[2]

"You..." T'Chaka was so angered by Zane that he couldn't find words.

Meanwhile, Zane squatted down with enthusiasm and looked at the future Black Panther.

He looked much younger than in the original story, but the beating from Erik had left him battered. There was no trace of the confident and spirited look from the future.

Beside him was his sister, the girl with extraordinary intelligence in the original story, referred to by some people as "smarter than Tony Stark." From the original story, it was evident that Wakanda's technological prowess showcased in Avengers: Infinity War surpassed what Zane encountered now. All credit was given to this girl.

Unfortunately, the more capable she became, the less Zane could keep her. Family grudges and national hatred couldn't be eliminated, and after converting her into a molecular robot, the girl lost her extraordinary scientific talents, turning into an ordinary machine.

So, unfortunately, she had to die!

Zane had no leisure for letting the tiger go back to the mountain. Eradicating problems at the root was the best way to avoid trouble.

Zane stared intently at the girl, constantly murmuring in her mind, "What a pity, what a pity..."

Just as Zane was sighing, Skynet finally delivered a message: the super bomb had been successfully handled.

Upon receiving the message, Zane stood up slowly, cruelly smiled at T'Chaka, opened the [Treasury], took out a handgun, aimed it at his wife, and without hesitation, pulled the trigger.

"Bang."

"No..."

Accompanied by T'Chaka's roar, the queen's head exploded as expected, and his children, the prince and princess, were awakened by the gunshot, staring blankly at the scene.

Unlike Princess Shuri's crying, the next Black Panther, T'Challa, immediately got up from the ground, roaring towards Zane, wanting to avenge his mother. However, he was knocked down again by Erik halfway, lying on the ground and glaring at Zane with eyes full of hatred.

"Good, you forced me to do this, let's die together!"

King T'Chaka also realized that Zane had no intention of sparing his family. He decisively activated the underground super bomb and glanced at his children with conflicting thoughts.

"Don't blame Daddy. It's better to die in the embrace of the Goddess Bast with dignity rather than in the hands of this demon."

Finally, he closed his eyes, waiting quietly for death to come. But 2 seconds passed, 10 seconds passed, 1 minute passed.

The anticipated death and explosion did not happen...
